Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Well, I've been pretty familiar w/ celiac and candida for a good long time. I think it must've been Lyme/mercury posts.

Just in case, I learn a little every day. :)

I know you're already very knowledgeable about Celiac and Candida--I was refering to the various Rachelisms.... :)

I guess they say magnesium citrate helps build cells again and eliminates toxins in the body. I don't know if this is a good think. What do you think Captain Rachel?

Well....my personal opinion on magnesium citrate is that it SUCKS. :P

Heres my story about magnesium citrate. This happened when I first joined the board...so like 2 years ago.

I was scheduled for endoscopy/colonoscopy....they told me to get the phosphosoda stuff (prep for the colonoscopy).

Of course I waited till the last minute  ...driving around totally brain-fogged...looking for thos phosphosoda stuff. I had no clue what I was looking for....didnt see any phosphosoda so grabbed the magnesium citrate instead. BIG MISTAKE!!! :o

I got home....took some big spoonfuls of the stuff and immediately had a BAD reaction. :(

My head totally swelled up...I got depression, started crying, sticky stuff coming out of my eyes..tingling throughout my body. It was one big heionisity.

I called my mom...totally freaking out. The instructions said to drink ALL the stuff in the bottle and I was already really messed up from two spoonfuls.

There was no way I could take even one more drop of it.

I called and told the nurse I was reacting to the "prep" and could not drink it. She said they wouldnt be able to run the test. The whole thing got cancelled. It was a couple days later that I realized I had bought the WRONG stuff!!

I was not suppossed to take magnesium citrate.

Anyways I wrote down all the ingredients in my journal but could never determine the exact cause of the reaction until recently. When it happened I wondered about citric acid....is it gluten-free??? That was one of my first threads on this board. I was wanting to know if citric acid was gluten-free or not.

NOW....I know that citric acid comes from aspergillus mold :o ....definately not something I can tolerate AT ALL. <_<

I am highly reactive to aspergillus mold according to my BioSET testing. Well....I'm reactive to pretty much all molds but aspergillus is a big one.

I think there was also one other possible mold containing ingredient in the magnesium citrate. I dont have my journals with me right now.

All of my reactions like the one I had that day come down to mold.

This is why nowadays I dont take anything that have added ingredients in it.....without knowing exactly what those ingredients are. one thing can really mess you up. :(

I could have actually went ahead with my endoscopy that day.....but since it was scheduled the same time as the colonoscopy....they just cancelled the whole thing.

6 months later (different GI) and I had the endoscopy...bought the right phosphosoda stuff this time ;) (had no reaction) and my biopsy showed "text book perfect" villi....all standing tall and proud.

I'll never know for sure how they would have looked had I been tested 6 months earlier...when I first went gluten-free....but I suspect they would've still been "text book perfect".

So thats my experience with magnesium citrate....it had a mold containing ingredient...got me really sick and made me unable to go in for my endoscopy/colonoscopy.

'Course....this could have all been prevented had I been paying better attention to what I was buying.

So now you know...magnesium citrate is BAD for you. This is why keeping a journal proved useful for me. When something is bad...and you know it....write it down...list all the ingredients. It will help you alot in the future. Eventually you'll be able to put it all together and figure out WHY those things bother you.

It took me 2 years to figure it was mold....I suspect its probably the same thing for you. If you write stuff down and also write down your reaction...(pain, explosive D, etc)...it'll help you in the long run. Its easy to forget this stuff when we dont have it written down.

The only reason I was able to retell this story.....2 years later...is because I wrote EVERYTHING down in my journals and because I've reviewed those journals so many times since then.

REMEMBER: Just because something says its good for you.....or will remove toxins....or will help constipation....etc, etc...does NOT mean you can handle it or wont react to it. Just like you cant eat many foods....you will not be able to take many supplements either.

Also....do you think the reaction was "bad".....or do you think the explosive diarrhea was just the magnesium citrate "doing its job"?? Its suppossed to clean you out.....is that what happened or was it something worse??

Only you can know your body. If something doesnt feel right....it probably isnt. ;)

Oh my God, the pain. They say to take a half teaspoon and I took a tablespoon. Hope I live through this it hurts so bad, and going every 3 minutes. HELP

Ok....so then this pretty much answers my last question.

Dont take the magnesium citrate anymore. Its obviously causing you problems. Does it contain citric acid??? If it does then thats probably your problem...you've already said you're really sensitive to mold and citric acid is from mold.

OMG....Lymerdida Guadalupe....I'm never gonna get that one outta my head.

Hey Lisa,

I've been meaning to ask.....what is up with Freddy?? Who is Freddy anyway??

I know that you are Freddy Mercury Spice :P ....but whats the story behind Freddy??

Is oxypowder good Miamia and do you take it everyday?

Lisa, I just got my OxyPowder today. Dr. Amy shipped it to me.

I just opened it and it has natural citric acid in it.

I'll try it and let you know how it goes. I'm kind of scared though.

She said everyone tolerates it really well and she tested me for it....but I'm still kind of concerned.

Anyways...I'll let you know how it goes. Miamia says it works for her....I dont know how often she takes it though??

Mia...what brand is your OxyPowder??

Rachel,

There is no other ingredients listed. It is from Natural Calm. All it says is Magnesium 615 mg (elemental from magnesium citrate) That's all it says. I also bought some compound minerals and got home then read other ingredients. Citric Acid is one of them. Now I have to take all this stuff back again! I'm wondering if that oxypowder would be o.k. for me because I am clueless now as to what to do for the big C.

2 1/2 in total I think, but wasn't posting at the get-go.

Indy500 talk was about the only thing I understood!!

1st post that I remember was that chronology was an -ology not defined as "the study of". Mighta been Murph still.

Now I rachel the threads like a madman!!!!

 Yes, rachelling of the threads is a good thing though!

And picked up the lingo quite quickly, I must say

Indeed!

AWWWW! That Yorkie puppy is so adorable! I had to copy and save that one! My mother would love that picture!

Dart looked like a little badger when we brought him home. He had this black stripe across his eyes like a raccoon!

Yeah, I thought you'd like it...lower down on the page is a really cute pic of a white dog with sunglasses on. :P And further down than that is a chihuahua in a life jacket.

Oh my God, the pain. They say to take a half teaspoon and I took a tablespoon. Hope I live through this it hurts so bad, and going every 3 minutes. HELP

OH MY!!! Do NOT Rachel the magnesium!!! Yikes! Hope the pain passes quickly, but you may be running for a while.

But I ain't bringin' 'em up agin, no ma'am.

And deprive us of some fun!? Harumphf!

I have never been fishing. I cannot stand worms! They are icky! I admire brave women like you that can handle them! Those things are freaky!

Oh...ummmm.....even though I do consider myself to be a "brave" woman.....I dont really deal with the bait too well. :P

I said I LOVE fishing....I'm good at catching the fish. B)

Never once have I actually took any of those fish off the hook though  ....and very rarely do I bait the hook....it depends on what type of bait we're using.

I told the receptionist that I didn't want to put T through a challenge test if she didn't really have a problem with mercury. They do different treatments up there so I may just go through them.....we'll see.

Andrea,

ART sessions dont involve urine tests, or blood tests.....or anything like that. Its just Kinesiology.....thats it. They wouldnt be doing any type of challenge tests for mercury if you're going there for ART.

The ART testing itself is what identifies the problems.

Beam me up rachel....

ROFL

:lol::lol:

Lisa...you're cracking me up today. :P

I actually stayed at work too late today and missed the 4:00 launch of the Spiceship.

Its rescheduled for 7:00. B)

I'll be back shortly thereafter.....as long as I dont listen to the "bad angel" (who is not Patti :) )

And picked up the lingo quite quickly, I must say

Yup....he's used quite a few words from the Rachelville dictionary already!!

He may not know what they mean....but it sure dont stop him from using them.:lol:

Dear tom,

I like your new avatar! Those are beautiful fish!

Ditto!! I love the fish! :D

Dear Lisa,

I am sorry to hear of your misery. :( That reminds me of my experience with psyllium husk. It was horrible! Never again! That caused cramps like crazy!

Dear Rachel,

Citric acid is derived from fungus? :(:blink::o That is scary! It is in so many things! That experience you had with magnesium citrate sounds a lot like my horrible experience with the colonoscopy! It was very unpleasant, to say the least!

Dear Everybody,

Well, today I am still having stomach cramps and feeling queasy and have the craps. I have no idea why. I seem to have gotten glutened yesterday. The thing is, I am paranoid careful. How could I get cc'd?

RACHELVILLE AUXIGRO TRIAL

Today in Rachelville, Piper Li Jin prosecuted Auxigro, Inc. The militant geese had been poisoned by this corporation. This was horrific. Redneck Deer are now guarding the town from the terrible threats made by the company's environmentally dangerous escapades. Buck, the head of the Redneck Deer, testified on behalf of the town.

It was found that Auxigro, Inc. is guilty of unspeakable crimes against humanity and the environment. Not only had they poisoned the militant geese, but people outside of the small cult-farm town. Bongo, the purple glittery bat was not allowed in the court room (due to the no glittery pink berry-scented bat poo law), but did protest against the Auxigro shenanigans.

He then proceeded to poop on the company's CEO, who had to then remove his jacket before entering the court room. (Remember, no bat poo!)

Buck testified about the corporation attempting to bribe them, and get them addicted to msg! The jury was shocked. The silence was so evident, a pin could be heard dropped. The President testified against the evil conglomerate as well. Rachel said the geese had exhibited symptoms of msg poisoning prior to the lawsuit being made public. That is when they decided to bring the village doctor to the stand.

Because the courthouse is a yurt, reporters were forced to remain outside. The rest of the media was as well. (There would not have been room for the defendants and plaintiffs). Witnesses (two more Redneck Deer by the names of Earl and Jim-Bob) said they saw the Auxigro CEO attempt to bribe Buck. Judge tom decided the punishment. Not only will Auxigro pay $240 Million to the town of Rachelville, but the defendants must fulfill the sentence by the jury. Jury members consisted of DingoGirl, dlp252, Clark Bent as Stupor Man, Grump1, tabasco34, jmengert, JudyfromPhilly, jerseyangel, Triticus Toxicum, akJenny, CarlaB., and Fiddle-Faddle.

The jury decided to force Auxigro to endure the most severe punishment. The first have to be in a purple glittery bat poo storm. After they survive, they must clean up after them. Next, they have to perform community service involving scooping dingo doo-doo. Finally, they are to pay for the gorgeous Adonis-like men who are building the community yurt for celebrations. Massages shall be given as well to all Rachelville women, and therefore, shall also be paid for by the Auxigro Corp.

Sincerely,

Jin

Hi, Jin--I'm sorry you're feeling badly today. I'm right there with you--nausea and diarrhea are back. Sigh.

Um, I love your story. I especially love how we will have massages and the Adonis-like men. That's definitely what I could use more of right now--Adonisis (Adonisi?) and massages.

Hope everyone else is doing okay and is going to have a nice weekend!

No wonder why they call it diarrhea. You just feel like you want to die. Well the diarrhea has simmered down. I am deffinelty going to try the warm water enymas. What type of water should I use? I want to try the epsom salts bath too. But I'll wait on those.

I love fishing! I want to go fishing too! Trout Fishing is the best. Do trout have mercury? I guess so. Just don't eat the fishies.

Basically if "carla'ing" has to be the exact equivolent of eating 1/4 donut per week... (Holy cow Carla are you insane?? :P ).......then I will never qualify for a legitimate Carla'ing.

Gosh, I didn't really see it as that big of a deal and here it is a year later and we're still talking about it!

I always enjoy the first bite or two of something ... the rest is good, but the first bite or two is better than the other bites ... in eating a little, you're always getting the greatest enjoyment of every bite of food you are treating yourself to.

I did call it community-defined and I don't know if my whoop-dee-doo 2week tenure even qualifies me to vote!

No, still no voting power. It's not because you're new, it's because you're a guy.

Right now the best part may be that I'm starting to worry a lot less about being struck by the "algernon effect". :P

Were you worried about the getting smarter part or the getting dumb again part?

I think most of us here have LLMD'S who are also addressing the other issues that tend to go with Lyme but I see alot of people on LymeNet *just* taking antibiotics....nothing else. I think thats a bad idea. :(

Since LLMD's seem to be on top of other issues, I'm wondering if the people are just taking the abx and doing nothing else by their own choice.

Dear Julie,

We are twins! I am glad we are synchronized! It is not much fun being miserable alone! They say misery loves company! I am also glad you like my story! I hope it made you laugh!

Ah, yes, the Adonis-like men! I met one of those the other day, the perfect man. He had beautiful chocolate brown eyes, and has a warm heart, too! He is also well-rounded. Alas, he did not last long. His name was Chip. He was a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie!

Dear Lisa,

I second that we should change the spelling to dieuhreeuh. That is how it should be spelled. When your constipated, it is not fun, when you are having the craps, it is not fun. Being exhausted while being constipated (exhaustipated) is just as bad or worse! That epsom salt bath might just help ease your discomfort.

Sincerely,

Jin

Carla,

Yeah I know the mercury is hiding something from me. And that would be the truth. :P

Maybe it's Lyme to or alien parasites. Maybe I'm not constipated maybe it's eating my food.

Im scaring myself. :o

Spiceship oh come on something better. How about Lymerdida. Yeah lyme+mercury+candida=lymerdida. Has a latin flare to it huh? Lymerdida Guadalupe.

You may not think you feel better, but your posts definately show you are! My family noticed my feeling better before I did. I still hurt, so I didn't think I felt better, but they saw a change in behavior that showed I actually did.

I hope my story can be published as well! I have to make sure to copywrite it first.

Your work is automatically copywrited. You can't sue for punitive damages without a formal copywrite, but you can sue for actual damages. They can't use your material.

However, they already put in a disclaimer ... that it is purely coincedental if they have a similar storyline. The burden of proof would be up to you and they can afford big corporate lawyers.

The deal is, if they really like your work, they will want more of it. The one story you send might give them ideas, but in the long run, it's only one story.

It's a risk you're going to have to take.

Jin--Tee, hee. At least if I have the runs and feel like crap, I'm not alone.

I like your idea of the perfect man. He's pretty much my idea, too. I've been known to rachel (I'm using the lingo!) sixty gluten-free cookies in a few days....now, I'm more responsible :P

This is from an article by Dr. C in Missouri. It's just another point of view on IND bands. Someone quoted the article on my thread on LN.

If enough of the complexes are formed, eventually it may be seen with the naked eye as a dark band. - Band intensity reflects how dark or wide it is. Controversy exists about band intensity.

Many would say the " +/-" equivocal ["IND"] bands are not significant. The problem I have with that, is that there are "-" negative bands. The lab has no trouble calling some bands negative. So they must be seeing something when they put "+/-" at some bands.

The only thing that makes sense, is that there is a little bit of that antibody present in your serum. If the "+/-" equivocal is reported on the borrelia associated bands, it is usually significant, in my clinical experience. This is a strong clue that I am on the right track.

Instead of ignoring these, they should be a red flag to keep pursuing a laboratory diagnosis. Giving patients 4 weeks of antibiotics (usually tetracycline, 500 mg, 3 times a day), will convert a negative or equivocal Western blot to positive in about 36% of cases.

Jin....the courthouse is a yurt!!...how funny is that!!

How did auxigro manage to infiltrate Rachelville?? <_<

COOL...lots of rachelvillians love to fish. :D

Yeah...we definately cant eat the fishies....we gotta throw them back. ;)

Heck...I never ate any of the fish I caught anyways. I always threw them back in....I didnt actually want to kill the fish....I just wanted to catch them.

Since LLMD's seem to be on top of other issues, I'm wondering if the people are just taking the abx and doing nothing else by their own choice.

I dont think all LLMD's are on top of everything....and I dont think they all take the other issues as seriously as they probably should. I do see alot of people on LymeNET just treating with ABX from their LLMD's.

Doesnt seem like all of the LLMD's are concerned about mercury...heck some of them dont even seem to be treating for co-infections.

I think they are missing some of the more serious underlying problems for some people...which is why they dont get better. They're just taking antibiotics. If they happen to be mercury toxic.....all the antibiotics in the world arent going to "cure" them of Lyme.
