Hi Ya All, Dr. just. Told me I have one celiac marker. I have been taking multiple blood test for thin Dr for years. Why couldn’t he have mentioned this! Anyway my functional med practitioner
Hello, Jeff and yes, PTL! The word "marker" is typically used in connection with gene testing but gene testing is not usually where testing for celiac disease starts. It usually starts with blood work looking for antibodies that are more or less specific to celiac disease. The most popular antibody test ordered by doctors is the tTG-IGA test but there are... -

Is tTG 9 normal after 4 months gluten-free?
@lizzie42, I have dermatitis herpetiformis outbreaks when I am exposed to foods high in iodine. Iodine can cause dermatitis herpetiformis to flair up badly. So I avoid high iodine foods like dairy products, crustaceans (shrimp, crab, lobster, shellfish), Eggs, and iodized table salt. Spinach, potatoes, kale, and kelp are high in iodine, too. The... -

How to work through food paranoia
The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product... -

hi Ya Trent, I really like my gastroenterologist; he mentioned it casually. maybe he thought I knew it. These tele appointments are good for getting to the point. I think he used the marker word. I will ask. PTL. -

I am glad that there are so many things that are so many studies out there. I thought that CNP-101, or TAK-101 was already in phase 2 studies. Also, I have read some conflicting comments that KAN-101 was very recently terminated early, even though it has shown very promising results. A participant was told that they are losing too much funding from our...- alternative

Thanks Jess! Our son will probably devour most of it because he hasn't eaten yet today and is being lazy about having a snack. That's why I always make two. Wish me luck. It's the first time I'm using the convection setting on my oven.

What she said!!
Oh, dear gawd... .. . . ...he wants you to cook LIVER for him?? Jyessss, if you're not ready for something like this, you must tell him - - a good man will understand, and let you take your time.. . . . ..
(((((serious voice)))) Jyessss, I'm so happy for you! He is a lucky guy.
:D
Thanksgiving went well. No one complained about gluten-free food. My sis was eating the cornbread and asked if I should be eating it. Her hub, I was worried he sometimes is picky about food, was interested in the recipes and my bag of Pamelas flour. Jess, Hub & I "L" word the sweet potatoes.
J & M played with the 3 year old all night. They admitted they had fun with him. The 6 month old needed to sleep but wouldn't. He had to watch what the boys were doing, even at his own peril (He & I got hit with stray Nerf darts). Finally, J sat down & put the baby sitting next to him and baby fell asleep. I told him girls will be impressed with this. He may borrow the baby to use as a chick magnet.
And the big break-through: I took a clean fork and gave my mom a bite of the ginger snap crust (she had regular). She took it off the fork and put it on her plate and handed me the fork back. My dad said," She can't use that fork. It might have touched your pie."
Your whole day sounds fantastic. I'm glad it went well.
Wondering how Lo's quackers turned out!
Happy for you both, Jess!!
Happy late T-day everyone . . . still stumbling about in a food coma here . . . had in-laws here (and still do).
My condolences!
Hi all--hope everybody's doing ok the day after......

<by phun, of course I mean wine> and I'm happy to report that my gluten-free pumpkin pie was a hit amongst the gluten eaters.
