I recently switched chili seasoning brands to McCormick w/o thinking to check it until I got home. Also, FYI, Durkee brand has wheat too.

The mild chili mix has wheat. I will be making 3 pots of chili today <_<

1) no wheat-dd

2) no meat-dd

3) for me/dh to eat with wheat and meat to use up the McCormicks, then I'll go back to using the homemade I was putting in my dd. Things will get less confusing...

Is wheat listed on the ingredient lisitng ?

You might want to try their chili spice rather than the seasoning packet. They are really good at labeling, as you found and all their seasonings that have just the name of the spice are safe.

I don't get the mix packages b/c of sodium levels and other ingredients in it that aren't needed.

I get the Chili Powder -- gluten free.

Did you already put the mix in the chili you made? :(

No, and my dd is only mildly allergic to gluten, not a Celiac, thanks for your concern ;)

YES

Here is the list.

Ingredients: spices, (including chili pepper), enriched wheat flour, (flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), onion, salt, maltodextrin, sugar, garlic, paprika, and extractives of cumin.

I will make my own from now on. Here is the recipe I use. I either got it from here or from Recipezaar, sorry, but I can't remember.

Taco Seasoning Mix (or I use it for chili)

1 T. potato starch

1 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. paprika

3/4 tsp. salt

3/4 tsp. onion powder

1/2 tsp. cumin

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 tsp. sugar

1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix and store in a jar.

(I double the recipe and store in a shaker bottle)

Antibodies my number is in 500's. COVID hit and I was  layed off from my job so no insurance (was in Arizona) so couldn't complete all the other testing they wanted to do. Back home and contacted Minnesota Mayo and they take my new insurance so considering going back in spring.

pdm1981 asks what I was also thinking. That is, refractory celiac disease.
    • pdm1981
I've been to the Mayo Clinic. Outstanding place. Did they test to see if you might have refractory celiac disease? This may explain why the symptoms persist but what numbers are off the charts? Are they antibodies, liver enzymes?

Hi Dawn,   Back in the Fall of 2019 with Covid looming I considered getting a pneumonia vaccine.  I went as far as getting in line and reading the pamphlet and saw the warning about not getting it if you ever had a reaction to diphtheria.  I instantly recalled a tetanus booster shot in 1971 that caused a severe reaction.  Tetanus booster shots include diphtheria.  I haven't had a tetanus shot since, but recent lab results show that I have many timed the immunity required.  Good Luck.

Since we don't know what you reacting to when you get vaccinated, we can't say whether or not the pneumonia vaccine will cause a reaction. Is there some common ingredient in these vaccines that is causing a reaction. I mean, with many vaccines the antigen is delivered via a solution containing albumin (chicken egg protein). Some people are allergic to chicken egg protein so they can't take those vaccines. That kind of thing. When you say your "numbers are off the chart", what numbers do you refer to? Are you referring to celiac disease antibodies?
