Just wondering, how careful do I have to be when cooking with my cast iron cookware? I often cook things for my family that are not gluten-free using the same pans to make gluten free dishes for myself. Is it safe to use the same cookware, provided I clean it well after each use?

Never!!! It's the seasoned part that makes it good...aka cooking in the goodness of gluten baked in yummy. My husband has his own for gluten foods and I have one of non gluten foods.

I do use my non cast iron cookware for both gluten and gluten-free foods.

I'm just starting a gluten free diet and so far I will use my stainless steel pots for both, but I SCRUB them out afterwards - they've never looked so shiny! My Teflon cookware I won't use for my food though. I'll have to buy others for me. I haven't bought new utensils yet, but I'm not using the wooden spoons and things in my food.

My kitchen is where I'm battling at the moment. It feels like such huge changes to make, but I'll get there.
