Here's another question you've probably answered 4,500 times before. It's about symptoms.

Is it normal for your symptoms to come and go? Say, one day you eat bread and you get sick, and another day you eat bread but nothing happens?

Yes.

My various symptoms "came and went" for 35 years. That's how they got the various labels : "IBS" and "GERD" (among others)

Then, they all just STAYED. Every day was the same. Horrid.

Once DXed and off gluten, almost all of them are GONE. :)

Woo! That's good to hear. I'm really hoping I have the coeliacs disease, because I JUST WANT to FEEL BETTER!

I recently went back on gluten for a couple days, to see what would happen and determine if celiac is really what I have (never had the biopsy, and my bloodwork was negative, so I always have the doubt that maybe, just maybe I was misdiagnosed.) Well, other than having to eliminate my food within a few hours, I was totally fine right after the gluten. I was a bit tired for the following few days, pale, but nothing worse than that. I was really beginning to second guess my diagnosis at this point, and was ready to throw in the towel to this whole gluten free thing, thinking that all the positive changes I'd seen these past few months were entirely imagined. Then, about 4 days after glutening myself,I had D, and that confirmed my diagnosis for me. It took about 4 days, but my body reacted negatively. Give yourself at least a week to see if you develop any reactions- I know that sometimes my reactions are immediate (red spots on my face) and sometimes, like my last experiment, it takes close to a week. Yes, that is a good point! Delayed reactions and prolonged reactions are quite common.

If I am accidentally CCed, I have symptoms for up to 3 weeks, including neurological ones. (This is MY experience, though--others do not have symptoms lingering for that long. )

Ditto all above. Yes, very normal to have varying symptoms and response.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
