  1. Welcome to the forum, pippy! Do note that this thread is five years old and product information may have changed in that time. Store gluten-free lists are not all-encompassing. As far as applesauce goes, check the ingredients and if there is no gluten ingredient and no allergen statement, you are going to be fine eating it.
  2. They are discontinuing the chex GF oatmeal, the news came out this week. It is due to poor sales. That is why I try to give my money to the trusted GF brands like Bobs and Glutenfreeda- the major companies aren't doing it to serve people with Celiac disease, they are doing it to make money.
  3. Welcome to the forum, Almas! The original poster has not been active on the forum since 08 so you may not get a response. However, if you are dealing with throat soreness from GERD or excess acid, definitely go see a GI doctor as soon as possible. It is something I deal with as well, and it can cause some bad issues.
  4. Tonight I made Tandoori Chicken with roasted curry cauliflower. Was pretty good. Now my house will smell like curry for a few days and when I walk inside after being out I will get hungry, lol.
  5. Cooking up a turkey breast sounds really good. My grocery store will mark meat 25% off late in the evening which is when I usually shop, and a lot of time it is turkey. Next time I see a big turkey breast on sale I am going to snatch it up. I could go for some pot pie, been years! I will look at ground pork, too. I have used that in pasta before when...
  6. Well, what have I been cooking lately? A lot, lol. I have my IVIG infusion tomorrow and since lately it knocks me on my hiney for a good 3-4 days at least, I have made a lot of stuff for easy cooking. Unfortunately my spouse is out of work at the moment so I wanted to save money over the few convenience foods I can eat. I baked and froze up two loaves...
  7. Well I have been sickly lately but I am having some good days this week so I am doing some batch cooking. Today I am making pulled pork in the crock pot,and tomorrow will be black beans and rice in the crock pot. Both will make lots of leftovers to freeze. Also going to make banana bread today which I freeze up in individual portions. Yesterday I...
  8. Made chicken quesadillas today. Instead of buying the expensive, gummy gluten-free frozen tortillas, I just use corn tortillas. If they are small I just make a third quesadilla and split it between us two. Yummy.
  9. Amys doesn't make one, but Annies does, and it contains wheat. Just to save you the searching. I am in the US and use Lea and Perrins.
  10. What have I been making lately? Hmm a few weeks ago I made a big batch of Italian Wedding Soup. Something I had access to the genuine version as a kid and I thought hey, why not make it. I used this recipe and used pork and beef for the meatballs, the good kind of cheeses cause that really stands out in this soup, gluten-free stock for the boullion cubes...

Welcome to the board, Holly! :) This section you posted in is more for personal blogs (A lot of people post recipes, stories, etc) and if you would like to create a new topic on the main board, you will definitely get more replies. Unfortunately, the road to recovery from a glutening or non-compliant diet is just going to take a while. All you can do is...
  12. Wednesday was a sick day so I pulled some pulled pork out of the freezer and made that with green beans and baby carrots on the side. So all I did was boil veggies and throw meat in the microwave. Pulled Pork in the crock pot: Just put a pork roast in the crock pot with some BBQ sauce and unsweetened applesauce, 8 hours later on low have beautiful...
  13. Last night we had grilled chicken, baked sweet potatoes, and green beans. Tonight I am making red beans and rice and will have some carrots on the side.
  14. That stew sounds delicious! Last night I made spaghetti for dinner, with salad on the side. Used those farmrich meatballs you find in the frozen section. Tonight I will be tired after my immune infusion so a Freshcetta gluten-free pizza it shall be!
  15. This!!! This is sooo important. If you use the review sites, post your own reviews identifying yourself as Celiac to pay it forward. Thanks for bringing that up.
  16. Welcome to the forum, C.Reez! I made your reply to this thread into this new post, since it is its own topic that we can all relate to, and that thread dates back to 2007. That way you will get more people in to read and converse. This is an issue that all people with Celiac disease can relate to. People with Celiac disease are plastered with the...
  17. While bottled sauces are great I can't get any of the good sanj ones here, just the piping hot one. LOL. So I do my own stir fry sauce. Similar to this, I need to try out these exact proportions. And I freeze my ginger before grating, too!! Just keep the knob in the freezer, wrapped in plastic wrap/baggie. Fresh ginger is so gooooood in a sauce.
  18. Welcome to the board, Eric. While I understand it is hard to let go of the things you love to consume, I highly recommend staying away from these beverages, heavy alcohol use, and other processed foods while you are trying to initially heal after diagnosis. Also, I would like to encourage you to not have a knee jerk reaction to all science in general...
  19. Tonight is going to be grilled pork chops, baked beans, and sweet potatoes for dinner.
  20. Made nachos last night. I like to cook up taco meat in batches and freeze for later, makes tired days a breeze. That on top of Bush's refried beans on top of tortilla chips, with a little cheese on top. Plus whatever else floats your boat. Microwave for 30 seconds and then 20 seconds at a time until cheese is melted. Add something like guac instead of...
  21. That is awesome! My meal planning is a little less pretty.... just a notebook with a list of dinners and a few lunches off to the side. Fewer people to cook for. But the basic concept is the same...make a list of meals and the stuff you need to buy for them, voila! I have had a few people ask me about meal planning and stuff and they have no clue about...
  22. I have been under the weather and not cooking much lately. My husband was going to make gluten-free pancakes last night but ended up basically making crepes due to improper measuring... but they were actually good. LOL
  23. I can second the Mitchum... when I was a teenager there were a few years where it was the only thing that helped.
  24. That cake is so cute!!! I grilled up a top sirloin steak yesterday and had baked sweet potatoes and green beans on the side.
