  1. Well, what have I been cooking lately? A lot, lol. I have my IVIG infusion tomorrow and since lately it knocks me on my hiney for a good 3-4 days at least, I have made a lot of stuff for easy cooking. Unfortunately my spouse is out of work at the moment so I wanted to save money over the few convenience foods I can eat. I baked and froze up two loaves...
  2. The problem when people use things that may not work is that something like an ear infection can go without proper treatment and lead to permanent life altering consequences for a child, like deafness. It is important to share info like this. Nothing to do with gluten or other conspiracy theories, the OP was just giving other parents a heads up.
  3. Since no one here is a doctor, and this does not seem directly related to Celiac Disease, I would like to encourage you to see a doctor ASAP in the morning. They have the diagnostic tools and can look to see what is causing the coloring of the urine, and do further testing if something else is wrong. No one on the internet speculating what it can be can...
  4. Omeprazole is available OTC brand and generic and through RX brand and generic. Whether it is behind or over the counter depends on the strength. Many insurance plans still pay for it as an RX at the higher strengths, so this is why you see it available both places.
  5. Well I have been sickly lately but I am having some good days this week so I am doing some batch cooking. Today I am making pulled pork in the crock pot,and tomorrow will be black beans and rice in the crock pot. Both will make lots of leftovers to freeze. Also going to make banana bread today which I freeze up in individual portions. Yesterday I...
  6. They probably reformulated some of these to be gluten free, so as Karen said, there can be old ones on the shelves for another year or so maybe. So the ingredients on the website may be for the old version... those kinds of things tend to lag behind sometimes, and companies don't always put up the most current info. The couple ones I tried had good ingredient...
  7. Made chicken quesadillas today. Instead of buying the expensive, gummy gluten-free frozen tortillas, I just use corn tortillas. If they are small I just make a third quesadilla and split it between us two. Yummy.
  8. It definitely is possible for you to get glutened by a kiss, and it is possible that your significant other didn't get everything in his mouth out when he brushed and flossed. Especially if you were really making out, haha . Everyone's reaction to gluten is different, and there are some people who do get sick for weeks from a glutening. It is possible...
  9. It is also always a good idea toOpen Original Shared Link, because of germies. Good info, Peter.
  10. I know it may sound a little odd, but one of my favorite things to eat when I am on the go around breakfast time is baby carrots and walnuts. Will sometimes add raisins or some other fruit. Remember you don't have to eat "breakfast" foods only at breakfast time.
  11. Ugh, filthy tablets/menus kill me at restaurants. Sounds like a poorly run location.
  12. Just looking at the ingredients online at Walgreen's website, I don't see any that are suspect. They nicely specify corn starch. Sleep well!
  13. Guerrero is labeled gluten-free as well. I buy that or mission.
  14. If I weren't in a sickly phase right now this would be a really neat thing to do. Especially as a childless couple. There are a couple of support groups down there: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  15. If you got a lot of skin pricks done and have tons of histamines going on a rampage it may make you feel crappy overall. See if a benadryl or other antihistamine before bed makes you feel a little better? When I have had skin tests done, I was a itchy mess for days on those sites.
  16. Gluten Free Creations is in the Scottsdale area, but check them out. They also have a phoenix location. I mail order stuff from them and they have a store/cafe there. Open Original Shared Link I live in Texas so I only order from them in the winter months... don't want my baked goods baked again in the heat.
  17. Just sounds like a CYA move on part of the company. Their gelato is delicious, and since it is a best practice to always read ingredients anyways, I will continue to eat their gelato. In general with ice cream, no gluten ingredients means it is okay. Of course, that is a personal decision each of us has to make. With the Talenti pints already at around...
  18. Amys doesn't make one, but Annies does, and it contains wheat. Just to save you the searching. I am in the US and use Lea and Perrins.
  19. Not an ignorant question at all! While there isn't much research on it, I have seen a lot of people on the online immune deficiency groups that say they never get a fever even if it is serious. And I am the same way. I always thought I was an oddball, but I only get a fever if I am very very sick. But when I get something like a bug, it never spikes my...
  20. On the poor immune system side of things, before I was treated for immunodeficiency which includes my low IgG and low IgA, any time I would get a GI bug or food poisoning it would be BAD. Like husband would have diarrhea for a day, I would have the most severe kind for 5 days. So him having a weak immune system is going to make things take a little longer...
  21. What have I been making lately? Hmm a few weeks ago I made a big batch of Italian Wedding Soup. Something I had access to the genuine version as a kid and I thought hey, why not make it. I used this recipe and used pork and beef for the meatballs, the good kind of cheeses cause that really stands out in this soup, gluten-free stock for the boullion cubes...

Welcome to the board, Holly! :) This section you posted in is more for personal blogs (A lot of people post recipes, stories, etc) and if you would like to create a new topic on the main board, you will definitely get more replies. Unfortunately, the road to recovery from a glutening or non-compliant diet is just going to take a while. All you can do is...
  23. Thats what I get for posting in the middle of the night, lol
  24. Also, would like to add that making your own cream of mushroom soup is very very easy. You just make a cream sauce with mushrooms in it. A recipe like this works great: Open Original Shared Link Just use your favorite gluten-free flour blend, or white rice flour, brown rice flour, etc (just not a nut flour no starch for the sauce in there) to make...
  25. It is also made in a facility that also processes wheat. So in this case, if there are other options, I would go with the certified gluten-free one. The glutamates statement sounds like ignorance of what gluten actually is, and makes me not trust the maker of the product to make correct statements.
