  1. Well, it is snowing in the DFW area. Roads are totally a mess since it started after people went to work and then they all tried to slip n slide home.. LOL. My husband stayed home and here in a little bit he is going to make me a grilled cheese, and I am going to try my hand at making gluten-free Cinnamon Rolls... the right way with yeast and stuff. Something...
  2. Well I have been on a lazy streak since I had lots of medical stuff going on recently, laundry laying around the house... I did clean the toilets, though, LOL. Catching up now, finally. Until next Tuesday another IVIG treatment. My new stuff seems promising on making me less sick afterwards. Today I made chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and...
  3. If you have a candidia or bacterial overgrowth issue, that could make parts of the body smell in a distinct manner. It also could just be what you eat. I hate to ask this, but do you brush your teeth and the tongue regularly? Even if you do, breath also comes from farther within, which is why garlic breath stays past tooth brushing. (Thank god I, a garlic...
  4. Yesterday we made spaghetti. Tonight I have some chicken to grill up, and the rest of the week I have easy stuff lined up since I have to go for IVIG tomorrow. I had a 1/4 sized dose of the new stuff last week and it made me almost as ill as the last stuff, so I anticipate not feeling well and being away from the computer for a few days.
  5. I don't think it is necessary to have a gluten-free bread maker. You don't knead gluten-free bread, you just pour and bake. So not much work there to pass off to the machine. It is just nice to have a stand mixer to mix the thick dough, depending on the recipe.
  6. I ran out of dish soap with a sink full of dishes, so I went by walmart late this evening, not a place I usually go, so I decided to see if they have the new Pillsbury Funfetti gluten-free cake mix. They had that and the cookie mix. http://www.pillsburybaking.com/products/gluten-free/funfetti-cake-mix I was pretty ecstatic to find this, as the original...
  7. The bread does taste better after you forget what the other bread tasted like... LOL. I have tried aldi's and really liked it, have heard good things about three bakers but haven't tried it. A similar bread to the Aldi one is Canyon Bakehouse Multigrain. I tried it after hearing people rave about it on here, and it is true it is soft and does not need...
  8. They definitely need to do the dishes considering the gourmet masterpieces you are feeding them... ROFL!!! Yesterday was a very fatigued lupus day, but I made it through the grocery store with my husband, and we made nachos when we got home with some meat I had frozen that was already cooked. Then for dinner I was so tired I could barely stand, so my...
  9. Today I had a frozen Udi's pizza. They are on sale at Target for $5 (not sure how long) and if you use their cartwheel app, you get 5% off. Their app works like a scannable coupon on your phone, no gimmicks like some of those other coupon apps you see on the crazy couponer blogs. They basically have 5%off most Udis items right now, and my Target at least...
  10. Most grocery store guacamoles are going to come with a warning about CC when asked. You just have to ask some questions about where it is prepared. Texas must be a guacamole loving place, because our grocery store has a little area in the produce section just for guac and their fresh squeezed juices, so no CC going on there. If it were made in the bakery...
  11. Welcome to the forum! If you post this same question under the regular forum, under new topic, you will get some more replies.
  12. Tonight I am making sweet potato and black bean tacos. Tomorrow I will be tired from my IVIG, so I bought one of those Udi's lasagnas. The big sized one. Hopefully it is good... hard to mess up lasagna. I tried their penne with cheese sauce- another one of their new frozen dinners, and it was lacking. Not bad, but not worth the price over the Annies easy...
  13. Tonight we were out shopping so we stopped at In N Out.... I brought my own bun. Cracks my husband up when I pull it out of my purse.
  14. Last night I made an oven roasted pork tenderloin with corn and carrots on the side. This weekend we went to Saltgrass Steakhouse. I had heard from a few people here that they were very good and safe. Overall, I felt the most safe there out of most restaurants, but half the things on the gluten-free menu they would not serve to me as Celiac. Fries...
  15. Ripping on people and giving strong opinions is kind of the America's Test Kitchen M.O. They do all kinds of cooking, have a TV show, radio show, etc. They are very objective and don't take sponsored opinions (they also run cooks illustrated magazine). A lot of times their advice is really good, but I don't always agree with it. Considering they wrote...
  16. I have three in the freezer. The point was to forget and eat later but I may have to pull one out, lol. I forgot to thaw anything out for tonight so... hamburgers maybe, or chicken nuggets and tater tots, for tonight. Will see how I feel!
  17. Good info on the cookie dough. At least Celiac gives me a reason to turn down all those overpriced fundraisers I am asked to buy from, LOL. I am eating a chunky monkey cupcake from my favorite gluten-free bakery. Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Banana. Pretty good! They also had eclairs, first one I have had since DX.
  18. That grilled cheese sounds really good! Tonight I am treating myself to gluten-free pizza. Nomnomnom.
  19. Welcome to the forum, JayeAmy! Some of the people may no longer be active who are on this thread, but it is interesting that you have been told what seems to be some poor info on your reactions to certain foods. Banana and avocado are two things that are common to both be allergic to at the same time, and they are often associated with a latex allergy....
  20. I have been eating easy things lately, I am in a lupus flareup and it is totally kicking my butt. Luckily my husband is very helpful doing anything physical, last weekend I wanted to make biscuits so he made up the dough for me as it is hard on my hands. Gonna make pigs in a blanket with those little sausages and that biscuit dough this coming weekend....
  21. Welcome to the forum! Do note that a lot of the information on this thread is up to 5 years old, so product information may have changed since then. I don't see any ingredient lists online for that flavor, so your best option is going to be writing the manufacturer.
  22. My sister made beef wellington for Christmas, so they took off a chunk of the whole beef filet before cooking and saved it for me. Cooked that on my countertop grill, and she made mac n cheese with a jarred alfredo and cheddar cheese, so I brought some of my gluten-free pasta over and we got some made up in a separate baking dish for me. She put her floury...
  23. This is from the Lindt website: "Gluten can be found in several premium chocolate products that Lindt &Sprüngli produces; either as a cereal ingredient or as a barley component. Additionally, there are some specific premium chocolate products that are manufactured without cereal or barley malt; however, and even though Lindt & Sprüngli incorporates t...
