  1. Definitely get rid of the pizza stone. Those are usually unglazed and porous. If the cast iron is coated like Le Creuset, clean really well. I boiled water in mine to soften anything possibly there, and lightly washed with Soft Scrub. They're fine. If regular plain cast iron, definitely pass on to someone else. They are porous. I donated all my...
  2. I've tolerated this b12 really well, I take it in the am before any food: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BHUZ68/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 B Complex without many additives that some have, methyl forms, I really like it: https://www.procapslabs.com/Products/High-Potency-B-Complex/301320/ I also take additional thiamine...
  3. Some of the things that got me early on, that I didn't think of, was airborne gluten, like grain dust from feeding my neighbor's chickens. We also have done a good deal of remodeling in our older home, and finally figured out the old plaster and wall board was an issue, also cutting chip board or plywood. I'm real leery now of going down the grocery store...
  4. Ahhhh it's awful. You get your hopes up that now that you've identified the culprit, if you just eat gluten free, all your problems will start going away. But like others have said, sometimes it's worse before it gets better. For me, within days of going gluten free, I felt like I was hit by a truck. I could barely stand up from a chair, weak, aches and...
  5. Several of my cousins have severe shellfish and bug allergies. I'll never forget when visiting my family in Hawai'i, one of those big flying cockroaches flew from a tree and into my little cousin's mouth, the allergic reaction almost killed her. With all the people with shellfish allergies that are likely also allergic to cockroaches and crickets, bugs...
  6. Yes I realize. I was more concerned about cross contamination in the processing/packaging of it. Worth examining.
  7. Try a different doc. I was diagnosed by a naturopathic MD based on 3 things : high positive blood test, DNA test, response to gluten free diet. I have a letter from him with that diagnosis.
  8. Probably a lame question, but is the rice you are eating labeled gluten free?
  9. I think Spicely brand of spices might actually be certified gluten-free. I use Morton & Basset, labeled gluten-free. Also consider magnesium deficiency can bring on headaches.
  10. If you have been eating gluten free oatmeal, try not eating it for awhile. I used to not be able to eat it at all when first diagnosed with celiacs, but now I can eat purity protocol oats.
  11. I had a lot of acid reflux before and after my Celiac diagnosis. I apparently had a slight hiatal hernia, as in following the procedures in this article for heel thumping, I actually felt something slither down and suddenly a lot of my symptoms were greatly decreased. I continue to do things in this article, and have had only minimal symptoms ever since...
  12. With all the open bread bags and flour in the air at a Whole Foods bakery, nothing is safe for someone with Celiacs.
  13. Excellent info. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'm taking 300mg benfotiamine, but since I had covid early last year, I've found a little asthma returning. I wasn't sure if I should increase or not. This really helps. And I'm going to research about that form needing the red blood cell to get across ... I have Thalassemia Minor, a genetic...
  14. @knitty kittyI'm a big fan of benfotiamine. How much do you take daily? Thanks.
  15. @knitty kittywhat dose thiamine do you take daily? Thx.

  17. I don't think I am a super sensitive Celiac, but anything closer to the higher range of 20ppm would do me in over time. I've read articles that say wheat starch is safe for Celiac's because it is less than the legal definition for gluten free at 20ppm, however, many cannot tolerate that higher limit. I personally know several Celiac's besides myself, and...
  18. Not eating seeds and nuts is no longer recommended for diverticulitis. You can do an internet search and see that that advice has changed in recent years and is now considered a myth. Here is one example: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/diverticular-disease-greatest-myths-and-facts/ My sister has diverticulitis really bad, had a section of intestine...
  19. I've had good luck with Procapslabs.com vitamins. I'm a very sensitive celiac and never had a problem. They have 1 supplement with wheat grass I think, I stay away from that. We use their "Essential 1" for a multi. I've used them for years, before they were sold on tv, and the forms of the vitamins are usually the better more absorbable forms.
  20. I can't tolerate oats unless Purity Protocol. Try completely cutting out the oats for awhile.
  21. I have Celiac's. I have had a few weird rashes, but not tested for or diagnosed with DH. I got DNA testing through Genetrack Biolabs. Risk is same as yours, 1:210 HETEROZYGOUS HLA-DQB1*02 1:210 I'm not sure what "HLA-DQB1*02" means .... DQ2?
  22. Before I knew I had Celiacs, I was given Budesonide for sinus issues. It almost killed me, made my blood pressure sky rocket to stroke levels. Be careful, it's a strong steroid. Cooked pumpkin is often used to calm digestive distress. It worked well on my kitties when they got sick (not trying to be funny, but it is what vets typically try first for...
  23. My sister has diverticulitis and gets that sort of pain, upper left and sometimes lower left, when it flares up. It has been bad enough to get her into the hospital.
  24. Nicotinic acid has been used in naturopathic med for a long time. For cholesterol, they commonly say 2000mg. Lots of studies with higher doses. I've read a lot of studies, and many are not clear on the form, they confuse slow release issues, or niacinamide. I know many taking higher doses for years with only improvement in overall health. Also a Celiac...
