Chili Powder? Mccormick, Yes Or No

I was hoping to make chili this weekend and it suddenly hit me that I have no idea if my chili powder is safe or not.  I keep hearing that McCormick is okay but then it's not a "single ingredient" spice.  So I googled it and found this:

I guess this means McCormick Chili Powder is out?  Any suggestions for alternatives?

I use this brand all the time! I guess I am wondering why you think the Chili powder is out? The link you supplied also supports it as safe.... 

 

Its different types of chili but if you go for the gourmet brand.. chilis is all you are getting.

we  use  it all the time....make sure  it is  plain chili powder not  blended  with other  things...

I always use McCormick spices. If they add wheat/gluten its in bold on the label. One of the reasons I use them

I use McCormicks. If you want a complete chili seasoning, Williams chili seasonings are only spices. Of course, read the ingredients, just in case

Yup it took me a while to figure out the spices were not gluten-free , I thought if it was no fillers it was gluten free, not the case! It can be made in a glutenised factory or packaged and CC'd ... I use McCormics now :) Or I buy fresh and dehydrate myself some onion powder some Garlic powder , some basil You can make your own Chili powder also It's fun to do and very rewarding.

      I'm really confused.  I've struggled with pain in right side of abdomen, head fog, nausea, acid reflix etc and have attended A&E on several occasions with no cause found (normal ultrasounds and CT). My GP ordered bloods.  TTG was 87.4 so I was referred for endoscopy.  Endoscopy was very traumatic but seemed worth it to have diagnosis confirmed.  Results have returned saying everything looks normal (7 biopsies taken) but they have arranged a repeat endoscopy to look at other areas of the bowel.  I really dont think I can go through the wait and traumatic ordeal again.  Is it likely I'm coeliac or not.  I was expecting confirmation but have been left more confused than ever.

      Do you have any issues when you eat corn? It seems unlikely that two different corn tortilla chips that are marked as gluten-free would contain gluten.  Have you eaten either of these in the past without issues, or is this reaction just on a recent bag?

      When I get gluten sick I get pain in my stomach, exhaustion, migraines/headaches, pain in my gums. The same is happening after I eat those chips. The Gluten Assist enzymes are giving me relief. They were what stopped the vomiting yesterday.

      It certainly is possible that you have other food allergies/sensitivities in addition to gluten. This is very common in the celiac community. The most common ones seem to be dairy, oats, soy, corn and eggs. How do you distinguish gluten-caused sickness from other causes of sickness? For you, does getting "gluten sick" really different than illness caused by other things?

      Is anyone having issues with Santitas tortilla chips? They say gluten free, but I got vomiting sick after eating them. I also got gluten sick from eating Siete's certified gluten free serrano sea salt and vinegar chips. Is this possible or am I allergic to something else? I have been taking Gluten Assist enzymes and it is helping a lot, so I really think it is gluten.
