Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to throw in that we don't ALL like the emaciated look.

Or the oversized plastic boobs.

Hallelujah!!! Yippee!!! There's hope then. :P

Am I the only one who doesn't know who Michael Moore is?

I didn't know either.

I'm not even sure it has anything to do with weight though...

I think when I was healthy I just was alot more happy....more extroverted, full of life, laughing alot, etc. Now I dont have that same energy....I probably dont laugh or smile nearly as much....even if I look exactly the same...I find people take more notice when a person is looking happy and smiling.

Thats what draws me to a person.....I notice a smile before anything else. If the person didnt smile...I may walk right past without ever noticing them.

Since I gained weight back...I'm not that far off from where I was before getting sick. The main difference is how I feel on the inside...and it does show on the outside when I'm feeling bad, tired and just not having that certain "glow" of happiness. People notice that.

Well, I definitely smile more and am more outgoing at my current weight than I was even 10 pounds heavier. Sad thing in my case though...normal weight = no boobs. :(

Adam tells me sexy is an attitude ... Queen Latifah is living proof that he's right. So, Susan, it's all in the attitude.

OMG that is so true! It's just that I"ve been very thin and very muscular my entire life......I CANNOT STAND the feel of weight on my body, even though I do look much more healthy. And guys do pay attention, BECAUSE I STILL GOT IT GOIN ON, you know :lol::lol: there are just pretty slim pickin's around here. Harrumph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's very outspoken but he brings A LOT of awareness to anything he researches so I'm glad his next movie is health care!

Most republicans HATE him (uh, registered Independent, here ;)) and in fact I have only seen his first, the one about the car industry - - but I do feel that nearly EVERYONE will get behind this picture, and I will pay the money to go see it IN THE THEATER.....

I don't know, Andrea, when I was nursing babies, I couldn't wait till they got smaller again. :P I'm actually fine with them like this.

I have a guy friend who says "any boob is a good boob", so I guess size doesn't matter ... don't bother buying new ones, Susan. My sister got them, then had to have them removed and ended up smaller than she was to begin with! :o

Rachel, I think you are right. I still smile, unless I feel really bad. I also stand up straight (from years of marching band LOL), but I start to slouch if my back muscles start hurting at the beginning of a herx. Usually when I feel really bad I don't leave the house much.

I can understand that. I don't like the sluggish feel I get when I have more weight. I like a little more, but only about 5 pounds from where I am now.

I can't say anything, I've never seen his movies, but from what I've seen, I'd be one of those who wasn't too fond of him. I need to register to vote since we moved ... this time I'll be independent, too. I just don't want the republicans to be able to claim me, though I'll probably still vote that way. I just dislike them less than the democrats ... they're all bought and paid for if you know what I mean.

I guess when you got em you don't want em and when you don't got em you want em. :P

I never really cared one way or another. I never really had much...but I never got any complaints either. :P

I actually used to wonder why people want em so bad  ....I played sports and wore sports bras most of the time...I figured I was LUCKY to not have to carry around extra "luggage".

When I first got sick I gained weight....mostly from fluid retention, bloating and my body just holding onto toxins.

I guess I got bigger everywhere....one of the guys on my softball team asked one of the other players...."Whats up with Rachel....did she get a boob job??!!"

They said " Nawww....her thyroid is just messed up.":lol:

Yeah...thats all we thought was going on back then....my thyroid was just messed up.

I doubt I'll ever be that big again....it was cool while it lasted. B)

When I lost 25 lbs....I felt totally flat....THAT was not cool. I was not happy with that look at all....so now I'm just pretty much back to "normal" Rachel size again...as long as I'm not totally flat (as in anorexic looking) I'm perfectly happy with what God gave me. :)

Hi, everyone,

I posted on a separate thread about seeing a naturopath/homeopath, and Andrea suggested I post here about my symptoms. Thanks for letting me jump in!

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in November 2004 via bloodtest (all levels were extremely high--no question that I have celiac). Got much better and then started having diarrhea again (my main symptom) about six months after my diagnosis. Removed soy from my diet. Helped a bit, but then the diarrhea came back, but I kept soy out just in case. Last summer, I removed dairy/casein from my diet (I've been lactose-intolerant since birth), and again that helped for a bit, but again problems. Long story short, I've had diarrhea several times a day for months now. The only thing that stops it is immodium, and I hate taking it so often, so I take it a few times a week. I've seen my gastroenterologist several times throughout all this. I had an endoscopy and blood levels rechecked in November '06, and everything looked good, and I haven't eaten out or had anyone cook for me in two years, so I'm definitely gluten-free.

My doctor thinks that food intolerances don't cause watery diarrhea and that I probably have microscopic colitis but doesn't know for sure. I don't want another diagnosis on top of celiac (and another autoimmune disease I already have), so I'm hoping it's something else. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, and any help anyone has would be very welcome.

I've been communicating with a homeopath whom I'm hoping to see in a couple of weeks, whenever they can get me into the office.

And, if this matters, I'm in Blacksburg, VA, if anyone knows any health practitioner in the area.

Thanks for reading this!

I mostly am. :P Still, if I had lots of money....

Hi, everyone,

I posted on a separate thread about seeing a naturopath/homeopath, and Andrea suggested I post here about my symptoms. Thanks for letting me jump in!

Hi Julie, welcome!!! I posted on your thread, but haven't gone back yet to read more. Diarrhea is one of my main problems. I've had it for about a year and a half now. They've also run lots of tests on me...lots of stool tests, I had a colonoscopy, and on and on. I don't have colitis, I don't have any of the other things that conventional medicine looks for.

I started going to an integrated health clinic in November...they put me on an elimination diet and ran some other testing and found H Pylori and Klebsiella, but not C.Diff, which is what everyone thought it was.

In January I started with an alternative method called BioSET. They've been VERY helpful in finding out all the various foods, additives, environmental stuff, etc. that I am sensitive to...avoiding as much as I can has helped a little. They've also found bacterial infections, one of which was staph.

In April I did another alternative test called ART, which found bacterial infections and lyme.

In May I started seeing a doctor who treats lyme, mercury toxicity, etc. This is the LLMD that Andrea talked about in the other thread...he has tested me for a BUNCH of stuff besides lyme and found a lot of issues.

Warning...more scatology talk :P

All of these doctors/practitioners have me on herbs and supplements, which actually seem to be helping me...I am currently down to two trips to the bathroom and they are almost normal.

For the last two weeks though I was making 5-7 trips and it was pure water.

Good to see you over here Julie! :D

I don't have any ideas but I'm hoping the rest of the crew will pipe in. I'm the one with the least noticeable symptoms of anything.

We do have another poster here from VA I think, but I don't know where. Laura?

Julie, I have a lot of GI problems like you describe. Lyme is my primary issue. I have a secondary problem with gluten and heavy metals.

Stick around, maybe some of the things we talk about will ring a bell with you. It was here I discovered that I had Lyme, then I requested the test and it was positive.

Thanks for the welcome!

Wow, I had no idea diarrhea was a symptom of Lyme's. I'll definitely bring that up with the homeopath.

It's encouraging, Donna, that your symptoms seem to be getting better; I hope they continue to improve.

I have considered candida because I was diagnosed with that about five years ago when I had some bladder problems (before I was diagnosed with celiac disease), at which time they put me on nystatin for a month or so.

Other than that, I'm out of ideas. I'll definitely keep reading this thread and see if anything sticks out to me.

Thanks again for everyone's input!

hey rachel

sorry I must have missed or skipped that post or something happened. I got the castor oil pack today and I want to start using them. Also an enyma bottle. I know you said not to take probiotics but I think this candida is going out of control and I am not even eating sugar. I hear or feel like bubbles and phlem stuff in my intestines that make gurgly noises. Sorry for all the questions rachel but Im just scared :(

That's how most of us figured out what was wrong with us...we started posting on this thread, and reading, reading, reading...someone post something (usually RACHEL, lol) and it just fits perfectly. I would have never, NEVER, in a million years suspected lyme had it not been for this thread.

I did suspect candida and probably metals toxicity because I had a mouthful of amalgams and gold crowns...just had those out in November and January. I also have mold toxicity, which I suppose I should have known, but didn't really, until this thread... The LLMD found all of this and lyme!

Yeah....go figure....I ended up positive for C.Diff and I'm the one who NEVER gets diarrhea.

Hi Julie....havent seen your thread yet....will have to take a peek later on. :)

I dont have diarrhea as a symptom....apparantly my body would rather hold onto toxic stuff as long as possible  .....so yeah...I'm dealing more with the issue of "C" rather than "D".

Do you have other symptoms with this??

Ok..found the other thread. :)

I have a few Dr.'s I'm working with. One is an M.D. (an LLMD who runs an integrative clinic), I also see a naturopath (also an LLMD) and I see a very good BioSET practitioner.

I'm happy with my Dr.'s....VERY happy. I'd been tested for everything under the sun...MRI's, CT scans, more bloodwork than a person should ever have in one lifetime, colonoscopy, bariums, x-rays, endoscopy, ultrasounds, etc, etc. Nothing ever showed up and I kept getting referred to the phychiatrist.

I changed medical plans and ended up seeing more integrative Dr.'s. Its been a little over a year now and I've since been tested for all the things I KNEW I should have been tested for a long time ago. Mainstream just didnt have an understanding of the things I felt were going on with me (candida, lyme, mercury)...so I would get ridiculed for even suggesting them.

None of these things are easy to diagnose.....I lucked out in finding some really knowledgeable Dr.'s. :)

You gotta find someone whos reputable though....there are some bad alternative Dr.'s out there too. I saw an alternative Dr. a couple years ago who wasnt very knowledgable at all....I didnt get anywhere with my health problems while seeing her.

I'm far away from you (in CA) so cant offer up any good Dr.'s to you....except to say that if you've done all the tests mainstream could offer and came up empty...I would see an integrative Dr. who is knowledgeable in alot of different areas.

My Dr.'s have helped me identify all my problems in a relatively short period of time. Donna began seeing the same Dr.'s (we live in the same area) and she too has found out alot about why she is sick....as she previously posted. I think everyone here who has switched to LLMD has gotten answers after years of getting nowhere.

Good luck in figuring things out.

Welcome to our "little" thread. ;)

and like Andrea said....everyone is welcome here. :)

Sorry I cant help out more with the "D" questions.

It sounds like you have alot of food intolerance (leaky gut)....so its definately possible you've got some type of infection contributing to that.

Sorry for all the questions rachel but Im just scared :(

Lisa...dont be sorry for anything....its perfectly normal for anyone going through this to be scared. ;) Heck....I was scared out of my mind in the beginning...thought I was dying for sure!! :o

The candida is out of control because of the mercury....its gonna be like this for awhile unfortunately. You wont be able to get rid of the candida until you're able to chelate alot of that mercury.

When the mercury levels go down.....so will the candida levels. Also...when you're going through chelation...or mercury detox of any kind....the candida is gonna flare up worse. This is just the way it goes.

My Dr. wants me on Nystatin to control the candida as much as possible but both of my Dr.'s said the candida gets worse before it gets better when you're doing any kind of chelation.

The candida is actually attached to the mercury in your body. Candida binds with the mercury....so when you start moving the mercury OUT...the candida will flare up as it gets freed from the mercury.

My Dr. said it will see-saw back and forth...symptoms from the metals and candida both flaring up until enough is removed from the body that it becomes less and less noticeable...eventually the candida will get under control.

So I take Nystatin right now...ask your Dr. for a prescription. Its a very safe antifungal and will help with the situation. Make sure its the oral powder...not the pills and not the suspension "swish and swallow" stuff (which contains sugar).

The pure oral powder is most effective....alot of Dr.'s dont even know about the powder. Let me know if you're interested and I can give you the exact info. so that you can get the prescription if your Dr. is willing.

You should be on an antifungal. Diet is not effective by itself and antifungal is not effective by itself...they should be done together for the best results.

Keep in mind you'll have to continue to treat candida as long as you've got the mercury in your mouth and still in your body.

Were you saying that you cant get the rest of the fillings out?? I hope you can work something out because you cant get rid of the problem if its still there in your mouth. :(

Also Lisa....I imagine that the candida is flaring up for you because you are going through the amalgam removal process. Definately continue to avoid the sugars, molds, simple carbs (like potatoes and white rice) and try to get Nystatin.

I'll warn you now...oral Nystatin tastes nasty (like cardboard).....but it does help. I got used to the taste a long time ago and it doesnt bother me at all now. :)

Hey.....check this out....more stuff about glutathione.....and ummmm..... coffee enemas (hehe) :P

The Coffee Enema

The most controversial element of the Gerson Therapy is the regular use of coffee enemas. The Gerson therapy excludes drinking coffee, but, in fact, uses caffeine in another way. Gerson discovered that the use of coffee enemas could substantially accelerate the detoxification process.

In the early phase of therapy, coffee enemas are administered approximately every four hours to help relieve pain, nausea, and other symptoms accompanying detoxification. Although this treatment is controversial, there is an explanation for its possible effectiveness, since the rectal administration of caffeine has a very different effect than when it is consumed orally.

In an interview Gerhard Wolter, M.D., outlined the rationale for giving coffee enemas. He explained that when coffee is given in the form of an enema, the caffeine is absorbed through the rectal mucosa and is transported directly to the liver, where it causes a dilation of the bile ducts. This increases the elimination of toxins from the liver.

Occasionally a "healing crisis" is produced by an overload of toxins being released into the duodenum and small intestines. In these cases, large amounts of peppermint tea can be used to dilute and wash the noxious bile out of the intestines. (11)

Recent research shows that certain chemicals in coffee called palmitates stimulate an important liver enzyme called glutathione-S-transferase, which is capable of removing a variety of free radicals from the bloodstream. A coffee enema increases the glutathione-S-transferase enzyme activity in the liver from 600 percent to 700 percent above normal.

During the time that the coffee enema is being held in, all the blood in the body passes through the liver at least five times, since all the blood in the body goes through the liver every three minutes.

Other chemicals in coffee, including caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline, cause blood vessels and bile ducts to dilate, increasing the elimination of toxic bile. Additionally, some of the water absorbed through the intestinal wall goes directly to the liver, diluting the bile and increasing the bile flow.

A choleretic is any substance that causes bile flow. The coffee enema is the only pharmaceutically effective choleretic noted in the medical literature that can be safely used many times daily without toxic effects.

I did get a healing crisis from this...(it was the same as the sauna experience) ...but I think things have improved since then. :)

From the scientificness I posted on glutathione....its definately essential for toxin removal. There is generally a shortage of glutathione when people are very toxic. It makes sense that stimulating glutathione in the liver would assist in rapid detoxification.

It says the coffee enema increases the gluathione enzyme activity 600 to 700 % above normal.

I would say its pretty effective given the fact that I experienced healing crisis from the toxins getting released. I'm still experiencing it....but its minimal now....my eyes dont burn as bad and I dont feel like I'm gonna throw up. :)

Oh yeah...when I post about enemas....I'm in "disguise"...so you guys cant see me. :P

I wonder what makes the candida flare up because of the almagam removal. I am wondering if acupuncture will help any. I would deffinitly want more info on the nystatin so I can feel a little better. Me and my father dont talk. He doesn't even call me to see how I am but I am desperate and pray that he will help me out with the dentist. I can't stand this much longer. The pain with eating and everything. The bloating is the worst. I found that chicken at whole foods today. unfortunately no bones and cartilage and I need to boil the bones in water for the electrolytes and minerals.hum. Today is my 14 year old brothers graduation from 8th grade. I came home and found 5 little ceasars pizzas and a half sheet of graduation cake. I miss those foods. Hope can have them again some day. Also that mineral page you sent me Rachel didn't work and won't open up, just wont. About the enyma should I do water enymas everyday?

Is it foldgers or maxwell house? good to the last drop. ugh. hey rachel do you also get all that gurgly noise in your intestines too?

Ok.....can you access this page?

http://www.amazon .com/s?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3...arch&page=1

Its #6 on the page...Comprehensive Minerals.

If not.....do a google search on "Cardiovascular Research Ltd. Comprehensive Minerals" and see if you can get to the page that way.

You can do the enema whenever you feel like you need it. I'm doing it nearly everyday right now to flush out the toxins.

I've asked my Dr.'s if I'll eat normal again...they said I will. The intolerances will go away when the mercury and candida are no longer issues. They say I'll definately recover from this but its not something that happens overnight. It might take a year...maybe even longer.

It depends on how much mercury I'm actually dealing with and how well my body excretes it when we start chelation.

I'll pray that your dad can help you out with this too. Maybe you can work something out with him. Hopefully he will be there for you.

I'll post the info. on Nystatin later. Gotta go run some errands right now. :)

Awww...shucks. (insert red face here)

LOL....chile con carne....

That cracked me up. :lol::lol:

Is it foldgers or maxwell house? good to the last drop. ugh. hey rachel do you also get all that gurgly noise in your intestines too?

It has to be organic coffee....and you gotta make it in glass or stainless steel...not teflon or aluminum pots. You dont wanna put more toxins in. :o

If you didnt see the previous posts on this...with links for instructions...let me know and I'll post them again.

Oh it cant be de-caf either...that would defeat the purpose. I'm using O Organics (Safeway brand) medium light roast coffee.

Heres a few pages with instructions.

http://www.sawilsons.com/basicenema.htm

http://www.road-to-health.com/am/publish/article_15.shtml

Oh yeah....I do get the "gurrgly noises".....mainly when I eat foods with any kind of mold. It doesnt happen too much anymore cuz I'm real careful with what I eat.... and have kind of learned which foods to avoid.

WELCOME LISA--

OMG...{TO BORROW A PHRASE  } I MUST READ DAILY. I HAD 4 PAGES AND SO MANY I WANTED TO COMMENT ON.

WILL START WITH BEV---

But my friend, the MD, said that many Lyme patients commit suicide because doctors don't know what's wrong with them and they think they are doomed to a life of feeling sick. Or in neuro-Lyme they become so depressed that they commit suicide.

NOW THERE IS A HAPPY LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL...SORRY...IT'S SO SAD...BUT THE LITE ..LIKE GOING INTO THE LIGHT WHEN YOU DIE....TODAY WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS AT THE DRS WERE COMING OUT I WOULD HAVE 'WELCOMED THE LIGHT'

Miamia, I think you have every right to be angry with your doctor. I suspect that you are a very loyal person but perhaps now you can see that even well intentioned people can do harm if they are not paying attention. It blows me away that you were the first one tested and had tested so strongly positive months before Rachel and I were tested.:( I wish there was one emoticon for that feeling. The important thing to do though is get the proper treatment, trust me bitterness does no good,:lol: and I am so glad that you are doing that now.

MIA DON'T KNOW YOU BUT HAVE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH YOU AND YOUR STRUGGLES AND I DO ADMIRE YOU SO...MUCH.

Thanks everyone- my appt is at 9 am tomorrow.

WAS HOPING YOU'D POST WHEN IT WAS. THE PRAYERS WILL START WHEN MY FEET HIT THE FLOOR TOMORROW

Thanks again for everyone's input!
