Another week of Sanjya. When is America going to get it RIGHT?

The way I see it, there is no WAY he can win. Just because he is not in the bottom 3 does not mean he is not bottom 4 or 5....we just never know. It's tot bad us Canuks have to wait until Canadian Idol to vote....maybe we couls help get it right and get rid of Sanjaya.

I read about Gina's tongue piercing in this month's People magazine. It is the current issue with the contestants on the cover. I have no problem with the piercing. It certainly did not hurt Gina's ability to sing with it. I respect her for not allowing the show to change who she really is. Good for you Gina!!

de caps- you are right it did not effect her singing on bit. I really liked how she could do the Pat Benatar and the other Girl Rocker songs.

I just disagree, Hawkfire. I liked Sanjaya at auditions and at the very beginning. Yes, I'm sure that AI does their fair share of manipulating some of it. But Vote For the Worst and everyone who is voting for Sanjaya not because they like his singing is RUINING the competition. I'm glad that it's so funny for you!

Guhlia Rising Star

Cheri, I agree with you. Sanjaya was very good before they got up on stage and needed to show confidence. He just can't get his voice to go above inaudible. I can barely hear what he's singing half the time. It wasn't until America started voting that he starting sucking so bad. It's a shame because I do think that he's probably a very talented little boy. American Idol is supposed to be about having the best overall package. Sanjaya certainly doesn't offer that. Votefortheworst.com has really hurt the show's credibility.

Cheri and Angie- you guys could not have said it any better.

I am sorry I just find it very childish to find something funny about keeping the worst people in a talent competition. Honestly come on now, if I found out I was staying in a competition because people were voting for me just because I was not doing well....I would probably just drop out and feel like a fool.

This is supposed to be the search for the next big singer. It is turning into vote for the someone who doesn't deserve it. Blake, Melinda, Lakisha, and Gina should be going the distance. I think we will be disappointed in the next American Idol.

I believe, even funnier, is that you are annoyed with me for having an opinion opposite of yours. This is a democracy, after all. I am within my rights to find this amusing, votes determine who stays and who goes... The judges who manipulated the contest by pitting talent against a green, semi-talented teenager- well, they're the fools who caused you all this grief. NOT the folks who push back by voting... for the worst.

If you had a fair competition, Sanjaya never would have been put through- by the JUDGES.

You may have liked Sanjaya at the beginning, but three talent seeking judges KNEW he was not as capable as Melinda or Lakisha or Chris Sligh or Blake... This was a deliberate choice to put this semi talented child in with sharks. You can tell me you "liked Sanjaya" but you're not paid to make it a competition by putting talent that is able to compete. The Vote for the Worst crowd hasn't ruined the show for you; the manipulative judges and producers caused this fiasco. And it's funny.

What's childish is being so emotionally invested in a reality tv show that you have negative emotions over an outcome you don't desire.

I wasn't too impressed with Fantasia or Rubin. William Hung has a much name recognition as either of them! If Sanjaya wins, I expect our lives will move along as they did after Chris Daughtry was voted off. Really, it's a tv show. For entertainment.. your life will not be impacted by the winners or losers. At least I'm laughing twice a week as a result of this. If you're that upset, please turn off the tv and read Calvin and Hobbes or something that makes you laugh. No sense making yourself sick each tuesday and wednesday night.

 Wow! Um, don't think I said anything about being annoyed with you for having an opinion opposite of mine or about democracy. I simply said that I disagree with you. Lighten up!!!

This thread was started for fun and to see who all out there watched this show and their opinions. We all are entitled to our own opinion. I am going to start off saying, I was offended by Hawkfire's tone. Maybe you did not mean for it to sound that way but you have a way of responding as if we are in a aruging discussion and that is not the case here.

I hope this thread continues to be a place where we can have fun.

Jennifer Lopez will be the guest. I couldn't find the type of music, but I imagine it will be pop or whatever J Lo's music is considered to be.

Thanks Angie!!!

Sounds like it will be a fun show. Jlo has mainly upbeat songs.

lonewolf Collaborator

It's going to be Latin type music. I read it somewhere. People were speculating on how well Melinda and Lakisha would do with something so far from their "normal" type of music.

Guhlia Rising Star

Latin music should be fun, lots of upbeat songs to choose from.

Paula, you HAVE to record it! Watching Sanjaya try to do Ricky Martin will be more than funny. What a joke! He has about as much sex appeal as a turtle.

I expect that LaKisha might really shine this week. She has been picking really boring songs lately. Hopefully Latin songs will spice her act up a bit. I just hope that Blake can pick back up where he left off a few weeks ago and make a strong comeback.

Ok I will record it. I think it will be funny to watch this tommorow. I think turtles are little more sexier lol.

I am trying to sit here and think who i think it will do the best. I think phil and chris will have trouble. I think jordin will do great. I hope lakisha does great.

I am going to watch Ellen today, cause Gina will be on, i cant wait to see what she says about being voted off before sanjaya.

She didnt say much, just that she was in complete shock that she got voted off. ANd ellen told her that she bets someone will sign her a record deal and she will be famous. Then she sang Alone and the show ended.

I really hope someone picks her up.

I hope someone does sign her! She was awesome! She sang songs which blew you away.

Melinda's act has been old...she has got to know she is good.

Lakisha better step it up, she has been getting boring.

Most people are already deficient in minerals.  I can understand the concern. However, if you do happen to get enough through supplementation, drinking pure distilled water is not going to matter.  I happen to get over 100% of rda vitamins and minerals.   I push myself to get 4000 mg of potassium a day through food, drinks, and supplements combined. I don’t know anyone else that does. The rda is closer to 4700 mg a day. For anyone else that might be deficient, I suppose tap water might be a better option.  I personally can’t stand the taste of most city tap water sources.  I don’t mind mineral water and prefer it when possible. I recently found out we would need to drink 5 liters of San Pellagrino mineral water a day to get enough lithium to satisfy the suggested 1 mg a day. Unfortunately, this and other mineral waters can also have trace amounts of uranium that occur naturally in nature. Uranium is not a good thing to have in your water. I wouldn’t want that or naturally occurring lead in my water.  There is no perfect solution for drinking water.  Smart water distills and then adds back in some electrolytes.  I could evaporate two gallons day of tap water or mineral water and the remaining sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, etc… wouldn’t amount to what I already consume on a daily basis. I’m not worried about drinking distilled water.

Reverse osmosis water pulls electrolyte minerals out of the body.  If used for cooking, RO water will even pull even more electrolytes out of the food.  If you're not replacing electrolytes because you're eating food cooked with RO water, you can suffer from Electrolyte Imbalance.  The symptoms of Electrolyte Imbalance are similar to those that occur with being exposed to gluten.   Also consider that many people with Celiac disease have malabsorption issues and may already be low in electrolytes.  Exposure to RO water may create some health changes more quickly than in healthier individuals.   RO water impacts the body in many ways.  Read this fascinating study.   Long-Term Consumption of Purified Water Altered Amino Acid, Fatty Acid and Energy Metabolism in Livers of Rats https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11122726/ Drink mineral water.

Library paste and paper mache.  I have in passing read of wheat based glue used to glue fish tank filters together so it is not surprising they might be in refridgerator filters. Seems the issue with bottled water would be at the personal filters rather than the mass filtering.  Just have to boycott the brands that effect you.  Gatorade drinks all have either gums, modified starches or stevia that might be affecting you.  Looking for energy or hydration try Red Bull.  It has the vitamins, minerals, antioxidant Taurine, sugar and glucose to process the sugar from mouth to ATP and clean up. Taurine is essential for protecting mitochondria from damage, such as from reactive oxygen species (ROS) or calcium overload. If you are exclusively drinking bottled water you may want to consider taking Lithium Orotate 5 mg.  We need about 1 mg a day of Lithium and mostly it is gotten from ground water.  Lithium deficiency can cause anxiety and suicide.  I find it helpful. What non organic or nonorganic molecules from a plastic bottle of water can trigger a reaction that I have only experienced during an auto immune experience? There really should not be any organic molecules in  such a bottle. I seen a thread where it was mentioned that his refrigerator water filter tested positive for gluten when he had it checked. If I went to physician to get checked for other possible triggers from a water bottle, I don’t think that will go anywhere. Again, distilled water containers cause no reactions. I’m not an industry expert, but something is there.  I don’t think that this is a case of microplastics causing this. Too bad we can’t call upon some third party investigation.

It’s understandable to want to be cautious, especially after experiencing symptoms. However, there is currently no scientific evidence that reverse osmosis or standard activated carbon water filters expose people to gluten in amounts that would trigger celiac disease. Gluten is a protein, and if any starch-based binder were used in filter manufacturing, it would not pass through RO membranes or remain in finished bottled water at clinically meaningful levels. Plain water — filtered, RO, or bottled — does not contain gluten unless it is intentionally added (which would require labeling). Steam-distilled water is certainly safe, but it is not considered medically necessary for people with celiac disease. If reactions are occurring, it may be helpful to explore other potential explanations with a healthcare provider rather than assuming filter-related gluten exposure.
