Oh my gosh... What did they feed Sanjaya over this past week?!?!?! That was actually REALLY good!!! First of all, I love that song... Second of all, he sang it with proper intonation and accent... Third, I almost forgot he was, well, Sanjaya! Too bad he'll probably go back to sucking royally next week.

Blake melted my heart tonight. Wow! He is just amazing!

Sanjaya and Blake were the best two out there tonight....Haley needs to put some clothes on!!!!!!

I actually like LaKisha too, but yeah, blake and sanjaya were good. Blake was phenomenal, as usual. He makes me want to run of to Hollywood and be fanatical about the show.

Blake is cute too. They only ever show his friends in the audience, I wonder where his family is?

I was wondering the same thing. I liked Blake. I also liked Jordin last night too.

I agree that Sanjaya wasn't as horrible as he usually is.

Yeah, what was up with that?!?! :)

Jordin was really good last night. I've been liking her more and more this season. I think she has great potential, especially considering she's just a little girl. I don't think she's even 18 yet. That's pretty impressive since she has that big old voice.

Anyone else think it'll be Haley's time to go this week?

Yeah, anyway, where is Blake's family? That is kind of odd. Everyone else's family is there supporting them.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Vote-off...hmm tough call. Haley might still be getting votes from hormone raging males due to her revealing clothing...even Simon commented that that was her best quality.

Phil was ok, Chris R is not my favorite....I am stumped.

Anyone else?

What? Blake's family has been there a lot. Especially early on. His dad looks just like him - just heavier and without earrings. They were just on local TV last night (I grew up in Blake's home town) thanking people for all their support. It's a special "Blake Lewis Day" in Bothell today.

Wow! It's Blake Lewis Day? That's so cool!

I've never noticed his family, but maybe it's because I'm so stuck on staring it him. He is such a cutie!

Ditto here!

I wish, lol. I don't even remember what song she sang...all I cam remember is that outfit. The first thing I thought when she walked out was "she's doing that on purpose now", lol.

Guhlia Rising Star

Oh yeah, I forgot about Chris still being there. He bores me to tears. I think I'd rather see him go than Haley. At least Haley is cute and has some energy and personality. Chris just makes me want to stick my head in the sand.

I actually think Haley's smart for how she's playing things now. Yes, she looks kind of slutty and is definitely exploiting her body... BUT... If you've got it, flaunt it, right? At least she's not 400 lbs. and nasty looking and trying to wear clothes like that. I think she's smart because I think that's the only thing keeping her in the competition at this point. Maybe I'm wrong. She's a little spastic, don't you guys think?

You have a point...she could be very large and be trying to squeeze into those outfits....which many people do and they obviously do not look in a mirror before they leave the house.

She is very spunky!

I hope next week is a little more fun.

Lakisha will go home tonight. I know that sounds crazy, and I'm not against Lakisha. I like her way more than Melinda. I think Lakisha is a funny, witty person as well as a great singer. But I believe Gina's votes will go to the Judges favorite singer, "MELINDA" (could they make it any more obvious?) Because Gina threw a baby, foot-stomping tantrum on tv about how Sanjaya sucks and she should have been allowed to stay longer due to this being her dream as an adult and he's a stupid talentless kid.... So, anyone in love with Gina is going to be throwing their votes to the one the judges view as having the most talent. That's my guess. And that's my reason for my guess. I could be wrong, but that's how it plays out in my mind. Halely won't get Gina's votes, I don't believe any of the men will get Gina's votes, and Gina threw a serious tantrum telling her voters that the Sanjaya stuff ruined the competition for those who were truely trying and cared. So, Melinda will get her votes and Lakisha (who I like much better, will go. )

Wow, didn't know she did that...might have changed my mind about her, lol. I tend to not like tantrums. :P

I know. She was teared up and everything. She alternated between petulant sounding and very mad. It was disgraceful. The following day or two, I saw her on the Today show and she was all upbeat and smiling like it was nothing.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

I didn't know about Gina either...wow....I would be POed too if I got sent home and Sanjaya who up until last night was the joke was still there.

I am not sure about Lakisha. Phil's fan base is not too big either, every week he is on the bottom so I am leaning toward him as well.. But you never know.

bluejeangirl Contributor

I agree Haley's getting votes from hormonal teenage boys. I don't see any talent that would make her an idol. Lakisha and Melinda are equally talented but I guess you would vote for the personality when it comes to a draw. I thought Lakisha looked more friendly last night. She usually looks like she's PMS'in

One of my favorite C.D.s is the Santana one with Rob Thomas singing the song that Chris sang last night and thought he butched it. But how can you come close to Rob? :P

My favorite was Blake last night. He was the best best best. Love his voice. I hope he wins.

I think Phil's going tonight. He looks like he's ready for it to.

Did Paula seem out of it last night? She was on something. I know she has the trouble with neck and back pain. Must of been acting up.

I think she has inflamatory arthritis. Could be brain fog from autoimmune dysfunction.

I just watched it with my kids - we DVR it and watch it the next day - they love it. And they LOVE Jordin. She's their favorite and mine too. I think it will come down to her and Blake. I like them both, but I think her sound is more universal....

I think Lakisha and Melinda have great voices, but I don't think they're very original. THey are kind of old fashioned and I can't figure out what type of album they'd put out. Probably not one I'd listen to or buy. So that makes me lean towards Jordin - I think she'll put out the type of music I'd be more likely to buy...

Thats what I've been saying too, you want someone who's young, spirited and original. I think both the black girls could go on to do broadway or other events like that.

Well....I think I am speechless. I would have rathered Chris or Phil go, at least Haley was entertaining.

Guhlia Rising Star

I was actually glad to see her go. She was starting to annoy me with her spastic dancing and her skimpy clothes. Though, honestly, I would have rather seen Chris go. Oh well, at least it wasn't Blake or Melinda. :)

I respectfully disagree, @Scott Adams.   Thiamine deficiency (and deficiencies in other B vitamins) can cause unintentional weight loss.  The body will use stored fat and muscle to provide energy in thiamine deficiency.  This results in muscle wasting, fat loss, fatigue, and difficulty putting on muscle mass.  Using stored fat and muscle for energy requires less thiamine than the amount of thiamine required to process carbohydrates.  Thiamine deficiency causes gastrointestinal Beriberi, a localized thiamine deficiency in the digestive tract, which results in dysbiosis, inflammation, and abdominal pain.  Carbohydrates can remain undigested in the intestinal system, which bacteria feed on, encouraging SIBO, and prompting dysbiosis, leaky gut, and inflammation.  Following a low carbohydrate Keto diet, like the AutoImmune Protocol diet, can help because it removes excess carbohydrates that the bacteria feed on.  SIBO can cause weight gain due to inflammational edema of the intestines (water retention in the tissues of the intestines), gas, and slowed transit times.  SIBO bacteria can absorb nutrients from your food before you can, resulting in additional deficiencies of other B vitamins and nutrients.   Thiamine deficiency is corrected with high dose Thiamine Hydrochloride, Benfotiamine and/or Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide).  High dose thiamine in the form Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.  It improves "leaky gut".  High dose Benfotiamine will improve the gut microbiome in favor of beneficial bacteria.  Thiamine TTFD is beneficial for neurological issues.  Thiamine TTFD improves brain function and is beneficial for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, and other neurological problems like Ataxia and Brain Fog.    Methylated (activated) B Complex vitamins help correct Thiamine deficiency because all eight B vitamins work together.  Vitamin C and the four fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) are needed as well.  Minerals like Magnesium, Calcium, Iron,  Potassium, and others may need to be supplemented as well.  Thiamine and Magnesium make life sustaining enzymes together.   Supplementing with high doses of Thiamine and other water soluble B vitamins will lower pain and inflammation, improve fatigue, improve muscle mass gain, as well as regulate the intestinal microbiome!  So, @Stegosaurus, you can get healthier while improving gut dysbiosis at the same time! You may know this already, but in addition to what you've described, you may also want to get a genetic test. About 1/3 of people have one of the genetic markers that are necessary (but not sufficient) for getting celiac. If your son is one of the 2/3 of people that don't have the marker then it is almost certain he does not have celiac. (The genetic test won't tell you if he has celiac, it can only tell you whether or not he is susceptible to getting celiac.)

That is really interesting, especially because it points to how the gut microbiome may still stay altered in celiac disease even after going gluten-free. The idea that a fiber like inulin could help feed beneficial bacteria and reduce inflammation is encouraging, although I imagine some people with celiac disease or other gut issues might still need to introduce it carefully depending on tolerance. It definitely feels like an area worth watching, because anything that could help support healing beyond just avoiding gluten would be valuable.

@Irishgirl5, it does sound possible for those numbers to fluctuate a bit, especially when they are near the upper end of normal, but ongoing symptoms still make it understandable that you are concerned. The fact that his tissue transglutaminase immunoglobulin A is still technically in range does not always make the picture feel any clearer, especially with tummy pain, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea still going on. Anxiety can certainly add to gastrointestinal symptoms, but I can see why you would not want to assume that explains everything. It sounds like keeping an eye on things and being cautious with diet changes makes sense, especially if symptoms continue. Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.
