Spoiler!

I can't believe that Sanjaya is still there, I'm also a little surprised Haley is still on. I'm watching Sundance get kicked off right now. I predict Haley , Sanjaya, and another guy will be the next three to go. But we can all see how well I have predicted in the past  . I think Sundance is doing a better job on his song tonight than last night.

I'm surprised Haley stayed over Sabrina....and I don't really get Phil's popularity. Something about him creeps me out a bit. Maybe I'm missing something...

Guhlia Rising Star

Mango, he kind of looks like a cancer patient or something that came back from the dead... Maybe that's it? He kind of creeps me out too, but I also see his star appeal. He has a good sense of humor and a decent voice as well. Plus, he's in the marines and that always helps voting on American Idol.

I really liked Phil's songs up until this past week he can't pull off Leann Rhimes though. He does have a strange look. I have to admitt, Haley is very pretty.

I think Sundance & Sabrina were the wrong choices to go home.

I really liked Haley from her original audition, so I wasn't upset that she made it - we knew there would be one girl that we liked that didn't get through. It's just too bad for Sabrina - I wonder if she was just too much like Stephanie & Jordin that one of them was bound to go early - splitting the "modern R&B vibe voice".

Sanjaya is just not very good - I have no idea why he's still around, other than votefortheworst.com keeping him in things.

My faves are Gina, Melinda, Chris S, & Blake, so I was happy they all made it. My husband's faves were Sundance, Sabrina, & Stephanie, so he had a pretty rough night with only one of his faves getting through to the finals.

No idea who will win it all this year - I feel like there's just not a clear front runner.

What do you guys think after tonight?

Blake was awesome in my eyes! I still liked Gina, and I am happy to see Haley coming around. Simon even commenting her. Lakisha is another favorite of mine.

Guhlia Rising Star

I thought Blake was AMAZING!!! I can't believe the judges didn't get it. I would love to hear that on the radio!!!

Melinda and Blake are my favorites now. I think they both bring a real unique-ness to the competition.

I am pretty much done watching Idol  so I just read your comments on it now...

but what I want now is Angie's crab cake recipe! I used to make the most KILLER crab cakes......what kind (if any) bread crumbs did you use? You can pm me if you want.

Thanks, carry on now! ;)

I used Schar cracker crumbs. They make the PERFECT crab cake. I think they make the crab cakes more moist than bread crumbs do. I can give you my recipe if you want. This is by far my favorite crab cake recipe. You could probably also use gluten free corn chex-type cereal and have them turn out wonderful.

I thought it was a pretty bad night again, i still love lakisha and melinda and jordan did awesome last night also. I think blake was awesome to. I still like gina. I really think a guy will win this year. I am still upset sundance is no longer on there. I think he would have done great last night.

I think sanjaya or brandon will go home, im sure it will be a guy.

I'll be really p'd if Sanjaya or Brandon don't go home after last night. Sanjaya hasn't sounded good since the auditions. Brandon has had like 3 bad weeks in a row. They're just not cutting it. I miss Sundance too. He was one of my favorites even though he had a couple of substandard performances. His voice was really amazing.

What was with Sanjaya's hair? It's not good looking..

I still like Gina!

Jo.R Contributor

To quote Randy "I just wasn't loving it". Last night was not as good as I would have hoped. Blake was good, Gina was fun even though she does have a habit of yelling power songs. Of corse Melinda was awesome. Even though there were other great singers, I found the performances boring. I can not believe how bad Chris S. killed the song. I hope next week is better. :)

dlp252 Apprentice

I only watched (sort of) for the first hour...it was too painful to watch, lol. I DID like Melinda's performance though. I couldn't watch Sanjaya at all...that was excruitiating.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

I walked away at 9:30, John continued to watch. He said he liked Chris Richardson but the judges hated it. I left after I saw Blake. I did get bored. How did they expect guys to do Diana Ross though?

AllysonBrightMeyer Rookie

I liked Blake, Melinda, & Gina. I liked Haley, too, we liked her since the auditions, so it was great to see her performing well again. But overall, I was fairly bored, things just need to get better from all the contestants.

I hope that Sanjaya or Brandon goes home--To quote Randy, Sanjaya was "almost unlistenable." I just wanted it to stop! I am not normally someone who would be so mean, but he really needs to be off the show. Yipes!

Guhlia Rising Star

Unfortunately, Sanjaya is Votefortheworst.com's new pick since Sundance and Antonella are both gone. Ugh... He may be around for a while. Hopefully not.

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

We were discussing it in the office today and one of my coworkers also said they think Sanjaya will be around for awhile because of the vote for the worst. Sad!

HawkFire Explorer

The show was very amusing to me. I found the singers who forgot their words surprisingly entertaining. I believe Sanjaya is the best worst contestant they have ever had. The two pierced ears, the curly hair, the painfully shy singing... I laughed, cringed, covered my ears, listened again just to begin the process over. I was fully engaged. Vote for the worst is very funny. I don't vote, but it I were younger, I'd vote for the worst.

Mango04 Enthusiast

The best way to watch Idol these days is to record it and then fast forward through most of it LOL. All the guys (except maybe Blake) should go home.

Tritty Rookie

I really liked Phil, Blake and Gina until this week - still like them, but now I have a new favorite - Jordin!

I thought she had the best performance BY FAR last night...

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

Disappointing......

Guhlia Rising Star

Great... I haven't gotten to watch it yet. We recorded it. Don's putting Tori down now and then we're going to watch. I'm assuming though by that response that Sanjaya didn't get voted off. Man... I hope it wasn't Blake or Melinda to go...

blueeyedmanda Community Regular

No, nothing that bad sweetie ;), but Sanjaya is still hanging around. Go watch, report back. I didnt realize you werent watching. I am so sorry.

I respectfully disagree, @Scott Adams.   Thiamine deficiency (and deficiencies in other B vitamins) can cause unintentional weight loss.  The body will use stored fat and muscle to provide energy in thiamine deficiency.  This results in muscle wasting, fat loss, fatigue, and difficulty putting on muscle mass.  Using stored fat and muscle for energy requires less thiamine than the amount of thiamine required to process carbohydrates.  Thiamine deficiency causes gastrointestinal Beriberi, a localized thiamine deficiency in the digestive tract, which results in dysbiosis, inflammation, and abdominal pain.  Carbohydrates can remain undigested in the intestinal system, which bacteria feed on, encouraging SIBO, and prompting dysbiosis, leaky gut, and inflammation.  Following a low carbohydrate Keto diet, like the AutoImmune Protocol diet, can help because it removes excess carbohydrates that the bacteria feed on.  SIBO can cause weight gain due to inflammational edema of the intestines (water retention in the tissues of the intestines), gas, and slowed transit times.  SIBO bacteria can absorb nutrients from your food before you can, resulting in additional deficiencies of other B vitamins and nutrients.   Thiamine deficiency is corrected with high dose Thiamine Hydrochloride, Benfotiamine and/or Thiamine TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide).  High dose thiamine in the form Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.  It improves "leaky gut".  High dose Benfotiamine will improve the gut microbiome in favor of beneficial bacteria.  Thiamine TTFD is beneficial for neurological issues.  Thiamine TTFD improves brain function and is beneficial for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, and other neurological problems like Ataxia and Brain Fog.    Methylated (activated) B Complex vitamins help correct Thiamine deficiency because all eight B vitamins work together.  Vitamin C and the four fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) are needed as well.  Minerals like Magnesium, Calcium, Iron,  Potassium, and others may need to be supplemented as well.  Thiamine and Magnesium make life sustaining enzymes together.   Supplementing with high doses of Thiamine and other water soluble B vitamins will lower pain and inflammation, improve fatigue, improve muscle mass gain, as well as regulate the intestinal microbiome!  So, @Stegosaurus, you can get healthier while improving gut dysbiosis at the same time! You may know this already, but in addition to what you've described, you may also want to get a genetic test. About 1/3 of people have one of the genetic markers that are necessary (but not sufficient) for getting celiac. If your son is one of the 2/3 of people that don't have the marker then it is almost certain he does not have celiac. (The genetic test won't tell you if he has celiac, it can only tell you whether or not he is susceptible to getting celiac.)

That is really interesting, especially because it points to how the gut microbiome may still stay altered in celiac disease even after going gluten-free. The idea that a fiber like inulin could help feed beneficial bacteria and reduce inflammation is encouraging, although I imagine some people with celiac disease or other gut issues might still need to introduce it carefully depending on tolerance. It definitely feels like an area worth watching, because anything that could help support healing beyond just avoiding gluten would be valuable.

@Irishgirl5, it does sound possible for those numbers to fluctuate a bit, especially when they are near the upper end of normal, but ongoing symptoms still make it understandable that you are concerned. The fact that his tissue transglutaminase immunoglobulin A is still technically in range does not always make the picture feel any clearer, especially with tummy pain, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea still going on. Anxiety can certainly add to gastrointestinal symptoms, but I can see why you would not want to assume that explains everything. It sounds like keeping an eye on things and being cautious with diet changes makes sense, especially if symptoms continue. Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.
