Salad Dressing

Okay so Kraft says any gluten is declared on their label so I bought some ranch and some italian dressing. I am pretty sure these are gluten-free based on reading the label. Anybody else use them and know?

;) this is so hard--isnt it--reading everything we put in our mouth--i dont know about all ofKraft salad dressings--i do know that Miracle Whip Light is a no-no--there are salad dressings called Annie's and they state in the ingredients that they are gluten free--i find them in the speciality diet dept of Kroger--my sister uses Western Fat Free made my Wishbone--she is celiac too and a diatician, i ask her most times if i am in guestion of something and beleive it or not--sometimes something she can eat is something that will bother me--so it's still trial and error--keep your chin up---Deb :D

YES!!! Newman's Own salad dressing ~ Ranch, Creamy Italian (plus many more!)~ are gluten free. If you go to the Newman's Own web site ~ Open Original Shared Link ~ you can print a list of all their products that are gluten free. Their spaghetti sauces are also wonderful. :rolleyes:

If the Kraft dressing ingredients don't say wheat, rye, or barley, it's gluten-free. That's how easy it is.

Read the Miracle Whip Light label before you try it, but I'm just about 100 percnet sure it's gluten-free. Once again, if the ingredients don't include wheat, rye or barley, it's gluten-free.

I am a newly diagnosed Celiac, but have been gruesomely living with this problem for about 4 years now. I absolutely love Miracle Whip Light. To make sure I could eat it, I personally called and talked to a representative of Kraft who informed me that "if Miracle Whip Light had gluten in the ingredients it would be listed" (I specifically asked about the "modified" ingredients and was told they did not contain any wheat/gluten whatsoever). Unfortunately, however today I had some in tuna fish...and I put a good amount of miracle whip light into my tuna and i became very sick. I know that everyone is different and people react differently to certain things but I for one can tell you it must have some in it...however having stated that I am supplying a website for kraft that lists its gluten free foods...if u notice Regular Miracle Whip is listed as gluten free (Miracle Whip Light is not listed)...so Regular may be ok. I hope this helps!

I was always told there was something in the light that changed it so we could not have it, so I never tried it, this was back before the labeling law. I never truly trusted Kraft when they said they could be "totally" trusted anyways!

I can't have soy, so all of the salad dressings are off limits to me, unless they are canola oil based. Hellmann's had a canola oil based mayo that was very good, then they decided to make it Cholesterol Free a few months ago, now they have added soy to it and I can no longer have it either. When they first changed it, I didn't catch the change, the label is so similiar, I didn't even notice it. When I broke out in my "soy/corn rash" I racked my brain trying to figure out where I was getting the soy or corn from. It just happened one day, that I noticed the huge ingredients list on the mayo and realized it was different. Sometimes, and I know it's wrong, I will come to trust a brand, which I did with this mayo--thankfully, I had only had it for maybe 2 weeks when I realized my mistake.

In our house we use Wegmans or Kraft, it depends on what I pick up when I am out.

I don't use commercial salad dressings. Salad dressings are easy to make. Below is the one I make:

2/3 Sunflower Oil (or other oil of your choice)

1/3 Plain Rice Vinegar (or gluten free vinegar of your choice)

Salt. pepper, oregano, and garlic powder to taste.

This dressing is tranportable since it does not need to be kept cold. I take it out to eat and when I travel.

If you contact Kraft, they will MAIL you a complete list of their products indicating gluten free, lactose free. It's my bible :D Merry Christmas to all.

      There is a 10 year old post in this forum on Edy's and Dreyer's ice cream. The information is somewhat outdated and the thread is closed to further comment, so here is a new one. Edy's And Dreyer's Grand Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 1.5 Quart is labeled "Gluten Free". This is a different answer than years gone by. I don't know the answer for any other flavor at this moment. On 1 May, 2026, Edy's website says: "As a general rule, the gluten in Edy's and Dreyer's® frozen dessert products is present only in the added bakery products, such as cookies, cake or brownies. We always label the eight major food allergens on our package by their common name. We recommend to always check the label for the most current information before purchasing and/or consuming a product. The exception to this rule is our Slow Churned French Silk frozen dairy dessert, which contains gluten in the natural flavors." https://www.icecream.com/us/en/brands/edys-and-dreyers/faq It seems that Edy's and Dreyer's are more celiac-friendly than they were 10 years ago.       My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam.  The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach/abdomen.  The aneurysm burst when the doctor first touched it in surgery.  Since he was already hooked up to the bypass machine, my dad survived ten more years.  Close call!       You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

      Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.
