I eat at Mixt Greens everyday, but I'm not sure if that qualifies as not $$$$$. Bistro burger is pretty good about burgers with no buns, but beware the fries. They are CC, no matter how many times the stoner at the register tells you they are ok. The Indian place in Embarcadero 2 is pretty good, I haven't gotten sick ordering simple "safe" dishes and I am super sensitive. SF soup company is good about labeling stuff gluten-free or not, but its good to check ingredients just in case.

Everything else that comes to mind is super expensive, like Kokkari and the places in the Ferry Building. I don't get over to Sausalito much, sorry, I work downtown but I live in the East Bay (Been to Mariposa Bakery yet?)

I go to Mixt green about 4 days a week, but I run out early to buy it before the rush and then eat it at my desk later. They are really good about CC if you tell them you are gluten intolerant (especially the one on Sansome, they know me by name). They will even go get fresh stuff from the back if someone accidentally dropped a crouton in something. Grabbing the bread to put on the salad is ingrained though, so you may have to catch them at the end. Also, they will change their gloves if prompted.

Would love to know where you're eating in the area now, would hate to think I was missing something nummy.

I don't get up to Sausalito much anymore, but they have a Molly Stone's grocery store.

When I worked on Fremont St. downtown, my gluten-free coworker and I used to go to Open Original Shared Link a lot. I don't remember if he emailed them first or called ahead, but they do know what is in their stuff. I'd double check the ingredients, but several months ago he always got the chili. They have yummy salads with meat on them.

Beware Soup Freaks, they just had the audacity to tell me that their Matzo balls are gluten-free. San Francisco Soup company states gluten-free or not right on the daily soup menu though.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
