  1. Welcome to the forum! To me it seems like, at the very least, you have gluten sensitivity, even if it might be technically classified as "non-celiac gluten sensitivity." Your blood test results and genetic test support this, and may even support you having celiac disease, although that's not been confirmed yet with a biopsy. You have classic celiac disease...
  2. Here is the standard panel:
  3. Given how many people are gluten-free now it seems like an obvious addition to their offerings.
  4. I think more research needs to be done on this particular symptom of neck/shoulder pain and celiac disease. It's been mentioned here too often for it not to be a common problem for those with celiac disease. Thanks for bringing up the vagus nerve connection...
  5. I generally stick with red wine, but 100% agave tequila is my favorite spirit.
  6. Have you ever considered getting food allergy tests done to find the culprits, and then avoid them if possible? If you can't avoid them perhaps you could at least rotate your diet so that you don't eat them as often. I will assume that you are 100% gluten-free and that isn't causing you issues, but it never hurts to double check your diet to be sure.
  7. If you have been gluten-free for such a long time then no current tests done now would give you correct results. You must be eating gluten daily for 4-6 weeks for blood tests to be accurate, and 2-4 weeks for the endoscopy to by accurate. If you are certain that you have issues with gluten, and are positive for both DQ2 and DQ8, perhaps you don't need...
  8. Celiac.com 11/09/2020 - Most people with celiac disease attempt to follow a gluten-free diet. There have been a few studies that indicate that people with celiac disease are regularly exposed to gluten. However, there isn't much good data...
  9. We have done a product review on this one, but many are now labelled gluten-free:
  10. Read the labels carefully, but most should be gluten-free. Here is a list of GF ice creams:
  11. Celiac.com 11/07/2020 - Roasted multicolored beets deliver a rich palette of fall color for these nutritious, gluten-free, open-face sandwiches with goat cheese, balsamic vinegar and sunflower seeds. Ingredients: 8 slices...
  12. A blood test is a positive for celiac disease and it’s unfortunate that you have to wait that long for a biopsy. Making a diagnosis with blood tests alone, combined with symptoms going away when you go gluten-free might also be a possibility in your case, and I’d discuss this with your doctor. Be sure to tell him how bad your symptoms are and don’t spare...
  13. I've looked at his site before, and looked again. Nothing new there, and he cites a handful of older studies, some of which have a very small numbers of participants. The vast majority of celiacs can eat corn without issues, but some celiacs may need to exclude it and other grains. The problem I have with his claim is that he ties it to GMO corn without offering...
  14. Let us know how it turns out! Also, the results may not rule out non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and you can ask your doctors about that possibility.
  15. Yes, if you were gluten-free for 6 weeks prior to this test it can lead to a false negative test. You need to eat gluten daily for 4-6 weeks before a blood test, and at least 2 weeks prior to a biopsy, for the results to be accurate.
  16. Welcome to the forum! When you listed the ranges, were those the normal range? Meaning that above those would be considered the high ranges? I ask because different labs have different ways of showing their results. If you can clarify this it would be great.
  17. My celiac abdominal pain was usually in my lower right side. Sometimes it could feel like it was a dull ache throughout my gut, but the most intense was the lower-right pain.
  18. The villi in celiacs have been shown in study after study to recover after excluding gluten found in wheat, rye and barley, but while patients did eat corn. The gluten in corn (zein) is not considered by any major celiac researchers or celiac organization to be toxic or unsafe for those with celiac disease. Of course there are some people who have a corn...
  19. Perhaps get the skin biopsy first and see what the results are, then consider doing the endoscope if there are still questions? Both tests are not a big deal.
  20. Celiac.com 11/05/2020 - If you're looking for a tasty, nutritious way to use up any leftover steak, ground beef or chicken, this delicious, taco rice is the way to go. Quick, easy-to-make, and versatile, you can add or subtract ingredients...
  21. Yes, for the biopsy they typically take small pieces of tissue samples from very specific areas, prepare them a specific way, then examine them under a microscope using the Marsh criteria. If you also had low iron, vitamin d, and magnesium I would be surprised if they didn't find damage, but this possibility would not rule out gluten sensitivity. The damage...
