  1. Hi dawn Welcome to the board. Sounds like you have lots of questions, and you might find you get a good response if you start a new thread with your questions too. Glad you found us, lots of experience and good advice here Mindwarp
  2. That was me too last year. I am so excited to see your gf journey now. If your changes are half as good as mine you have an amazing year ahead. Prayers for your angels and mine Mw x
  3. I ended up with too much sun yesterday, and fell asleep on the couch. Mr Mindwarp woke me up for chicken and rice. I am starting a whole30 again today, but I have stayed pretty clean since my 1st one in January. So, no rice or white potatoes, and cutting down on nuts and dried fruit. The weight loss slowed, and I still have around 45lbs to go. More...
  4. It looks like you have got a bit more clarity from writing here. I wanted to add was that while you are still eating gluten, you could talk to you doctor about getting a full celiac blood panel. You can't do this if you are off gluten. I know you mentioned family members with IBS, and gluten sensitivity, and celiac runs in families. Non Celiac Gluten...
  5. Not sure I agree that it has to be positive if gluten makes you sick. I got a negative and gluten ain't my friend I found an elimination diet incredibly useful, along with a food diary. I had terrible problems with sugar, including fruit, and thought I might have SIBO, but I can now handle a bit of fruit every day. It is 5 months since I started...
  6. Congratulations! And welcome to the board I did mixed feeding, and I ended up with my supply dropping. It becamedia a bit of a cycle, so as I fed less, my body made less milk. My son also got in the habit of stopping a breast milk fed and anticipating a bottle as part of the routine. I would say a 'nursecation' as above may work. The habits...
  7. ABQ I will be honest, and say I sometimes felt the same when I came here 1st 8 months ago. I wanted and needed a good wallow, and time to get my head round things. But I gradually got used to things, and realized the folks here are passionate about helping people recover, and not get into the dreadful state some of us, especially if undiagnosed, got...
  8. Hi Amy How frustrating for you. It sounds to me like you have the right approach, gluten-free plus gene test. I did this, but managed to sneak a celiac blood test for my son before I got my negative gene test. His results were negative. I am now gluten-free, and keeping a close eye on my son. Maybe you could persuade the doctors to test him, then try...
  9. Hi there and welcome to the forum. I tend to get as much fresh food as I can, and the prices are comparable to the rest of my gluten eating family that way. I just found the gluten free products didn't suit me, because of other food intolerances. I avoid dairy too! I mostly carry a lunchbox. Have a good read around, try out the baking thread for food...
  10. Sorry you didn't get the results you wanted. I was just the same last year, and I threw in a negative gene test to prove the point. I was diagnosed NCGI. I have to say, that removing gluten 'as if' celiac has transformed my life. I have lost migraines, brain fog, anxiety, bloating, inflammation, and the list goes on. I found that as long as I take...
  11. I don't mind another chef for the compound. You had me at rather nice.
  12. I'm sold. Just the squid alone got me interested. Glad you have been having fun
  13. Hi Geoff That sounds tasty! Welcome to to the dinner chat We had a rice spaghetti carbonara last night, yum. Roast chicken tonight.
  14. As Lisa said, I also struggled for a few months after my gluten challenge. I now have a very clean diet, and identified several food intolerances. I feel better than I have for 20 years. Hang in there, keep reading and asking questions. Welcome to the board
  15. We had a lovely sunny but chilly day yesterday, and wednt with assorted family to the zoo. It quite a small one, with a lovely playpark. We all had a great time. Lunch and tea were brown rice, boiled eggs, olives, salad leaves, tomatoes. Addy, hope you are feeling better. The more I think about Gatsby, the more I like it. Spectacular. Grands...
  16. Wow, you can have the parade if there are that many of you there. Will someone be able to give the yeti a lift? Jealous now, bit far to come for me Have a fantastic time, look forward to reports
  17. I am NCGI, so it probably doesn't apply to me, but if it did... It honestly wouldn't be something I would want now. I have a host of other food intolerances, uncovered since I went gluten-free. I now have a healthy, clean diet. I never would have got there if I hadn't been forced to, and if I could pop a pill and then eat all that junk I used to, it would...
  18. Out and about with DD today, not much chance of a nap! Great stuff IH Hope some newbies pop by and see what they could have headed their way.
  19. One comparison that sometimes gets made round here is to ask if they mind if you just put a little rat poison in their food? I am in a mixed house, and we have segregated counter space, shelves, sections in fridge and freezer, dishclothes etc. We have doubles of jars. I have a whole set of utensils in purple. Toaster, breadbin, purple. I use kitchen roll...
  20. Wooooohooooski!!!!!!!! Isn't it great to be back? Having my own little celebration here. Just got out my map and thread, and I walked 10 and a half miles today. As well as half a day volunteering. And watching The Great Gatsby. (I loved it. And I think I have an idea for a new cabana boy). Hope you had seconds of that cake. You are just awesome. Mw...
  21. Burger here today too! One of those days it seems
  22. Just let me make sure I have this, I need to make sure I don't smell, in order not to offend a yeti, and I need to bring enough kake to keep it happy?
  23. A Chinese stir fry, chicken, cashews, coconut milk with rice. Happy but tired today, doing volunteering work, proving to myself I can work soon. Daughter fell asleep at 5.30, so expect to be up about 3 am. Life is never dull
  24. I hope you don't need to wait too long for those results. Sounds very thorough, I hope you are on the way to getting the answers you need. Let us know how it goes.
