This is completely INSANE! I thought i had established gi care close to home and wondered why my celiac diagnosis is still at a standstill. I went to my pcp and its up to the gi specialist. Per pcp to sign off on it. Even with the materials given amd told him what i knew , it was pointless on my part. The gi specialist I thought i was going to continue, isn't since he dropped me without giving me to another gi.I did file compliant to medical board. I do believe it's a certain gi group in my area that is the core issue of my celiac run around no thanks to another bay area that wasn't familiar with GLUTENFREE celiac asking for help of why their body is going to craps when not eating wheat. I do think it's time to see if I can go to celiac hospital eat what and do legal on them because It's mental abuse of why do you feel that way when the blood HLA-DQ2 is there and I was already positive in 1994.i went to pain management today and they had zero information on any of my medical issues! what the heck

I just looked today at my records from past celiac circus and what I thought was my current gi i had locally.Im not at all surprised that they put i was negative for sibo from past dr which isn't true. I gave them the positive results along with the other results of my tests requested by the none bay area googled specialist. All I wanted was doctors closer to home.. The gi that is my last did a sibo test though I showed and gave him a copy of a positive result just several months prior. I did breath test as requested by gi and results showed positive. I was given antibiotics which my body was having issues with also it showed on my online records, I screenshot it and since deleted the app. What im saying and want documented is the medical records I requested and got from current medical association states that both sibo test i did were NEGATIVE what the heck......NOOOO NO NOOO NO I'm having alot of issues stomach wise and I have POSITIVE results by BOTH test .HOW IS THIS LEGAL???? I'm NOT FEELING WELL.they are playing.I went to pain management and they had ZERO information on my medical information. My stomach feels so bloated and burning. I read the its not good for pain meds and sibo. I had a shot in my spine which didn't do anything but give me bloat, brup and gas...

Hi jmartes,

In 1994, when you were in your 30s you were diagnosed with Celiac Disease at Kaiser. You went on a gluten free diet and still avoid eating wheat, barley and Rye. It seems that you recovered and you no longer have active Celiac Disease at age 54. If you started eating the gluten grains again you might again get back the symptoms and problems you had when you were in your 30s. The only cure for Celiac Disease is being strictly gluten free.  Your medical providers are correct in telling  you that you do not have active Celiac Disease. Do you understand that?

You may have some other developing health problems and I can write  more if you  answer the question.

the only cure for celiac disease is being  gluten-free.

NOOOOOO NO NOOOO I was 23 years old.i have Not eaten wheat sense diagnosed in 1994.Been reading labels ever sense and in 2007 found more food issues. Menopause has changed my body completely and asking for help has turned into a medical NIGHTMARE. Wondering why my skin and eyes are having issues. Is all on me learning because blood work fine.Yet again for some reason not acknowledging my digestive issues ive given copies of.As stated in pervious post I was given breath test which I was positive with that dr and prior to him a few months, still wanted me to do.

Thanks, jmartes, for answering the question. You believe you still have active Celiac Disease. Right?

You wrote that you are WHEAT free. Are you also BARLEY free and RYE free?I am asking this because to have an active reaction you must be putting gluten  into your body, There are a few other foods that may cause some autoantibody production. Ask KnittyKitty about this.

In 2007 you had more food issues. Many Celiacs have this development and I think it is because while they hadthe active celiac disease and damage to their small intestine food allergies were caused because of the damage  while you had the active disease and not identified until years later. It is necessary to eliminate those foods from your diet. Scott Adams wrote that some people can start eating those foods after their intestine has healed. I have not been able to add any foods I react to back to my diet.

So you've made many posts here on your personal quest to get an official diagnosis. Many here have made suggestions, but clearly we can't solve the problem for you. If you can't get the original medical records of your diagnosis, then you may need to do a gluten challenge and get re-tested, and you don't want to do that, perhaps it's time to let the issue go, and just remain gluten-free?

Definitely worth speaking to your gastroenterologist about this. My own told me that by using Gaviscon a barrier forms over the contents of the stomach and stops gas and acid irritating the throat.  In fact, he said to me that because I found relief using Gaviscon that was a very clear indicator that reflux was the cause of that particular issue.   A wedge pillow will really help with this - or raising the top bed legs with bricks.

I did get the pneumonia vaccine about 4 years ago. I had this amazing allergist who did all those vitamin deficiencies test and told to get that vaccine. Unfortunately she retired.  I haven’t been to an allergist in a few years,  I’m not sure what my levels are now. I did have a pulmonologist who wasn’t concern and said I seemed fine to him that I was young etc. But yes I think I should at the very least get a different opinion. Thank you for your reply

Yes I do have acid reflux. I’m not on anything for it at the moment. I sometimes wonder if that’s what it could be because I get heart burn every night. I may revisit my gastrointestinal doctor again. Thanks for the reply

Hi @HelloFlowersGoodbyeFlour I wonder if you suffer from reflux, as if you do, you may find it could also be irritating your airways.  I shall explain: I have to use a blue inhaler from time to time, and it seems to be related to reflux.  Never had any trouble before my coeliac diagnosis, the reflux seemed to be something that developed following a holiday to France in 2019, where I had been exposed to gluten.    The reflux continued into the autumn and winter, my throat itched to begin with, particularly after meals, but it then that feeling of irritation seemed to spread to my lungs.  I even found it difficult to breathe on occasion. What stopped it in its tracks was using a wedge pillow at night, following a reflux diet (you can find them online), not eating 2-4 hours before bed and also having a dose of Gaviscon Advanced at night, which forms a barrier so that acid/food can't go back up your esophagus.  The throat irritation faded, and then I found it easier to breathe again. Just mentioning in case it could be a contributing factor.

Since initially getting your D checked a few years ago, has it since rebounded to normal levels? Sounds like at some point you got it checked again.
