OMG i found mold in my kitchen. in the kitchen we have a spot with hot water heater and stuff and i was wiping it out in there and i found mold, it was between the walls that came out cause of mold before, but we never touched in there, so that would make sense why mold is coming in threw the baseboard vents. I am freaking out here, then i moved the stove and there is mold under it cause my 14 yr just sweeps everything under there, i try to do clean under there once a week, but being so sick lately i havent. I had to come back and lay down cause im not feeeling good at all.

no cause i didnt think i was going to find mold

and now im going to puking any minute now cause i got glutened and caseined.

I was making an apple and nut butter cause i was hungry, so i just pulled out a bowel from the cabinet and threw myapples in then i was drizzling the almond butter, well i got to the end of the bowel and i was like this taste cheesy, well my wonderful 14 yr old was too lazy to wash dishes and just threw all the stuff back into the cabinets and on the bowel was doritoes and cheese, i am so dreading what my body is going to do now and casein gives me major mood swings, im so not happy about this. So now i have to go and wash all the dishes again once my husband finishes bleaches the kitchen, well if not completely sick by then, and ughh the kids go back to school tommorow so i have to go back to being a taxi lol.

This has been the best and worst day of my life, ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh Paula, that's awful!!! Gosh hope you can get some rest soon.

AndreaB Contributor

Paula,

I'm so sorry. :( That adds a lot of insult to injury already done.

Paula,

I'm so sorry! That's awful!

Donna,

I think you would have had a reaction by now. I actually changed my b-12 days from Tuesday and Saturday to Monday and Thursday, so I can have energy during the school week. My point is that I did one on Saturday and then one again today, and I'm fine. Do you know the dosage you're getting?

Andrea,

I have that too with energy. I get really tired in the afternoon, I think it may be because I am just tired from the morning...? Maybe. If I do a lot in the morning, then I'm wiped by the afternoon. Then, when it's dark again, I'm better. I blame everything on Lyme now...lol. :P

It's one of my biggies! Can't drink any amount anymore.

Interesting.....I can't seem to process alcohol anymore. I never could easily but lately its much much worse. And it can make me VERY sick if I drink too much. More than most.

Donna,

Since you said you have LOTS of workout DVD's...have you tried Lara Hudsons 10 minute work outs? I want to but one because someone on LN suggested it. :)

I don't know the dosage yet. The needle look FULL, lol. That may just be because she was about to stick it in my cheek, lol, but it LOOKED full. :)

Yeah, even just a little makes me sick. I get D really bad, and get body aches, sore eye sockets, nausea. Most of that is the next day. I haven't had anything to drink now in about 4 years, but the last time I did, it only took a few sips before I started feeling drunk as a skunk, lol.

I don't have any of hers. I have a couple of 10 Minute Solution workouts, and a couple of Prevention workouts, but none is by Lara Hudson. What type of workout is it? The 10 minute workouts are great because you can get a little in here and a little in there if you have to, or you can do them al at once. I just bought a 10 minute solution dance DVD, and it's really fun. Can't get the steps right, but I have fun while I'm messing up, lol.

confusedks Enthusiast

Donna,

I think they're primarily Pilates/Stretching type stuff. It got great reviews on Amazon, so I was thinking of buying it. I got an amazon gift card for the Holidays, so this way I don't really have to pay. :)

I was thinking that 10 minutes is more than I can handle, but I can work up to it. Then if I DO finish 10 minutes one day, I can feel like I'm getting somewhere. Unlike a 50 minute workout and only doing 5 minutes...takes a lot longer to get anywhere with those. ;)

About the shots, that's interesting, because the needles I use aren't very full. But that could also be because it's more concentrated medicine, or there are 1000 other reasons. :P

Hi everyone! Tonight my son's wrestling team had a skating party .... I haven't been roller skating in over 30 years, lol, it was a blast! I've roller-bladed, but not the old fashioned roller skates in a roller rink. I'm glad I was coming out of my herx ... yesterday I wouldn't have been able to push myself.

Is LN down?

confusedks Enthusiast

Carla,

I think LN is down. Not sure though, but it just keeps loading and loading. I love to rollerblade, but not too fond of rollerskating. That sounds like fun though! :)

Everyone,

Dr H's office called about 20 min ago to say I tested positive for Babesia! YAY!!! Well, not yay like I'm glad I have it, but yay that we are finding out more and more info! :D Also, the nurse said with a CD57 as low as mine, to make sure I don't get sick. She was really quite shocked at how low it was.

CarlaB Enthusiast

That's great that you got a positive result! My babs test was negative, but it was clear I had it. Babs herxes are tough .... are you going to take Mepron?

I love rollerblading, too. We have lots of bike trails around here .... but when the weather was good, I still didn't have my balance back yet, so I only felt safe on a bike .... this time of year, the bike trail is out of the question ..... but it was 72 degrees here today!!! :o

Yay for a positive result! Aren't we a sad bunch. We know what answers are though so we can be excited that proper treatment will ensue. :D

Sounds like spring over there! Almost 3 years ago we had a very mild winter. It was in the 70's quite a bit.....in February! :o

My girls have ski club tomorrow ... I don't know how they'll keep the snow on the hill!! It's supposed to get in the upper 60's and at this point all our snow is man-made, so no base at all.

It's supposed to get down to the 40's by the end of the week, which is still warm for us.

confusedks Enthusiast

Carla,

I don't know...the nurse just called to let us know about the results. She is going to get a phone consult set up so they can start treatment! :D She said that she is going to mark it as urgent because she thinks "he needs to start treating right away!" (her words)

I have heard babs herxes are really hard. I have a Lyme friend and she is always "down" for 3 days when she takes some herbal thing for babs, once a month.

How long do your phone consults last?

Is it possible to have babs with no Lyme? My mom and I are trying to prepare what we're going to tell the hematologist when we see him...because I don't have a positive WB yet.

Andrea,

LOL! We are a sad bunch...but it's kinda like knowledge is power in these situations. I am VERY excited about getting the right treatment.

confusedks Enthusiast

I wish we had ski club!!!! That doesn't happen in S. CA, lol. It was 75 here today, I was bummed because I had a cute outfit planned with my new rain boots...lol.

Carla and Kassandra,

Must be nice to have nice weather, im watching the snow fall lol. We did get to 39 the other day so some of the snow melted, but now we have more coming all night, i guess i will get exercise when im shoveling in the morning. So you all enjoy ur nice weather, when im bundled up tommorow in snow boots and sweats lol

I just got a PM on lymenet about Dr. J that I was thinking about seeing. She said he does not do herbs and wants you on iv abx at $6k to $12K per month. She also said he hasn't returned her calls or responded to emails and forgot to fill her rx for bactrim.

He's not sounding good.....

And I don't think its my liver that is bothering me. I think its my kidney, adrenal, area. I went to my chiro who does muscle testing and acupuncture. She said she doesn't think its my liver according to my tests. I did some acupuncture and am trying to drink kidney supportive drinks now. UGH So frustrating! I am wondering if Humaworm started this? It all seemed to happen when I was a week or 2 into humaworm.

I quit taking it now - early. I think it was doing more harm than good. who knows. I need to get her to muscle test me for it.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Do you honestly need rain boots in LA?:lol: I think it rained a couple times in the two years I lived there! I heard more rumbling from earthquakes than from thunder though.

Is there skiing up in the mountains? I remember not driving to far to, what's it called, Big Bear? I mean, the buses take the kids almost two hours from here to ski ...

My phone consults are about 15-20 minutes ... sometimes they've gone longer and I get charged more.

Don't worry about the babs herxes .... when I started treatment for it, I went from 15% to 25%, then my herxes really only dropped me back down to 10-15%. They can be achey though ... and emotional .... great for a teenager, LOL! Like teenagers need to be more emotional!

I'm sure there are statistics somewhere .... but I think it's more common to have Lyme if you have babs than to not have Lyme. Just tell the hemotologist that you have TBD's (tick-born disease) and your waiting for confirmation on which ones, that one has already been confirmed.

The babs is certainly NO SURPRISE at all to me! Certainly explains the anemia! I'd be sure to tell the hemotologist specifically about the babs as it lives off the red blood cells.

ShadowSwallow Newbie

Kassandra,

Yay for an accurate Babesia result!! :D :D

Donna,

Nope, I don't have any amalgams. :) I did have braces for a while, and that's it. I definitely think that the tingling is related to the chelating mercury.

Jin,

Thank you for your PM! :)

Everyone,

Oddly enough, taking my ionic magnesium helped my liver pain a lot last night. I thought it would make it worse. So that was the first thing I took this morning.

April, I would caution you about listening to an unhappy patient talking about their doctor on LN. Most people there are still rather sick .... how many of his patients are well and don't post?

Someone used to post really bad things about my LLMD, who is GREAT! There don't seem to be many patients of his at LN ... I presume because they get BETTER! Anyway, someone PM'd me asking about him because this prior LNetter used to make him sound like the devil.

Your Dr. J is highly respected in the Lyme community. I'd give him a chance and not listen to hearsay.

Have fun in the snow, Paula ... I wouldn't call our weather "nice" ... it's just warm, LOL.

Just a quick drop in....I'm watching Oprah, and Dr. Oz is showing a tapeworm :o

Awesome Patti!!

Thanks for sharing. :D

I wish I could have seen it!

It's one of my biggies! Can't drink any amount anymore.

Yup...I cant drink at all anymore either! Its been ever since I got sick that I lost my tolerance..and it only got worse over time. :(

I think anyones who's liver is heavily burdened by toxins is not likely to handle alcohol very well.

For me its MAJOR problems if I consume alcohol...its gotta be #1 on my list of things to avoid.

Nevertheless...I had a tiny bit on New Years.

Andrea....you know how protective M. is....well I told her I was gonna go to a friends house for New Years...so she said "let me talk to her."

I gave the phone to my friend (they do know each other) and M. proceeded to tell her how I CANNOT have any alcohol because it will poison me...my liver cant handle it...I wont be able to drive even if I have ANY alcohol..etc. etc.

There was no way I was getting away with having a drink after that! :P

Anyways...my friend did give me a teeny amount in a cup (shhhhhh...its a secret ;) ).....it was basically one sip...that was it.

Believe it or not...that one sip got me BUZZED!

So yeah....alcohol is still the #1 no-no for me!

Nothing terrible happened from that one sip...but I *did* feel it pretty good. Anything more than that would have probably caused me problems. If it had been a whole drink...I might still be in recovery! :P

your right Carla. I am going to call the office tomorrow and ask some questions and get a feel for it.

I don't know why but I have been putting this off!! I think about how I need to call and make the appt but I have a "mental block" about it. Crazy huh!

My reaction to a gluten bolus exposure is similar to yours, with 2-3 hours of severe abdominal cramps and intractable emesis followed by several hours of diarrhea. I don't necessarily equate that one large exposure to gluten with significant intestinal lining damage, however. I think it's just a violent reaction to a what the body perceives to be a somewhat toxic substance that I am no longer tolerant of because I have quit exposing myself to it regularly. It's just the body purging itself of it rather than an expression of significant damage. Before diagnosis, when I was consuming gluten daily, I had little to no GI distress. I was, for the most part, a "silent celiac". The damage to my small bowel lining didn't happen all at once but was slow and insidious, accumulating over a period of years. The last time I got a big shot of gluten was about three years ago when I got my wife's wheat biscuits mixed up with my gluten-free ones. There was this acute reaction after about two hours of ingestion as I described above. I felt washed out for a few days and fully recovered within a week or so.  Now, I'm a 74-year-old male. So, I'm not worried about being pregnant. And I don't want to contradict your physicians advice. But I just don't think you have done significant damage to your small bowel lining by one episode of significant gluten ingestion. I just don't think it works that way.

Wondering about some thoughts on how long to wait to try to get pregnant after a gluten exposure?  I have been diagnosed for 10 years and have followed the diet strictly. I have been cross contaminated before, but have never had a full on gluten exposure. I went to a restaurant recently, and the waiter messed up and gave me regular bread and told me it was gluten free. 2 hours later I was throwing up for the whole evening. I have never had that kind of reaction before as I have never had such a big exposure. My husband and I were planning to start trying to get pregnant this month. My dr did blood work to check for electrolytes and white blood cells, but did not do a full nutritional panel. Most of my GI symptoms have resolved in the past 2 weeks, but I am definitely still dealing with brain fog, fatigue and headaches. My dr has recommended I wait 3 months before I start to try to get pregnant.   I have read else where about how long it can take for the intestine to fully heal, and the impacts gluten exposure can have on pregnancy. I guess I am really wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? How long does it take to heal after 1 exposure like that, after following the diet so well for 10 years? Is 3 months an okay amount of time to wait? Is there anything I can do in the meantime to reduce my symptoms?

I’ve used tinctures and made my own edibles with gluten-free ingredients to stay safe. Dispensary staff don’t always know about gluten, so I double-check labels or just make my own.

It's great to hear that there are some good doctors out there, and this is an example of why having a formal diagnosis can definitely be helpful.
    • RMJ
Update: I have a wonderful new gastroenterologist. She wants to be sure there’s nothing more serious, like refractory celiac, going on. She ordered various tests including some micronutrient tests that no one has ever ordered before.  I’m deficient in folate and zinc and starting supplements for both. I’m so glad I decided to go to a new GI!
