Andrea....you know how protective M. is....well I told her I was gonna go to a friends house for New Years...so she said "let me talk to her."

I gave the phone to my friend (they do know each other) and M. proceeded to tell her how I CANNOT have any alcohol because it will poison me...my liver cant handle it...I wont be able to drive even if I have ANY alcohol..etc. etc.

There was no way I was getting away with having a drink after that! :P

:lol::lol:

I don't need to worry about you when M is watching you!

Patti, missed the parasite/tapeworm part .... but yeah, I knew they were long, LOL! How did he say to get rid of them? How common did he say they were?

Carla,

I had saved a ton of sites on parasites because I was researching that stuff even before candida I think. I never read specifically about tapeworms because I didnt know IF parasites were a problem...let alone which type!

Now that I found out about the tapeworm I tried to read whatver I could find. From what I've read...and from what Dr. Amy told me...it doesnt bseem like they're easy to get rid of.

I'm kind of thinking I've had this problem for a LONG time...I've been racheling food for many years...and not gaining a pound! I was always the smallest and yet the one who ate the MOST. Peole were always amazed and always asking "Where does all that food go!!??"

I had always thought I just had a fast metabolism....and it made sense when I got dx'd with Graves.

If the parasite was always there...I'm thinking it was a big stressor and part of the reason I ended up so messed up.

Anyways...I read that the tapeworm really has a strong hold on the intestinal wall where it attaches itself...thats why its difficult to get rid of. It was saying that because of that herbs are usually not enough to get rid of it....that the herbs will be effective at getting rid of most of the worm...but the head still remains firmly attached to the intestinal wall. It said that the tapeworm usually requires prescription meds to completely kill it.

Dont know if thats true or not...but thought I'd mention it in case you still notice problems later on.

Yeah...my friend was saying "You CANT tell M. that I gave you a sip....you better not tell her!!"

I was planning on going to the same friends house for Xmas Eve but never made it after I took my Ketotifen. M. was really freaking out about me being around other people who would be drinking...I got a long lecture about it....had to promise a million times that I wouldnt drink anything.

HELLO...I'm afraid to eat a YAM....how can she possibly think I'm gonna get crazy with the alcohol!!

Here's a write-up of the whole show. The tapeworm part starts on page 4 (with picture)

Patti...you are the BEST!

This is really cool. :)

I know...I know....everyone is pretty grossed out by this stuff but I still find it interesting.

I dont know if I'll ever get to "see" my tapeworm but I dont think I'd be freaked out by it. So far it hasnt bothered me. I kind of think of him as a "pet"...an unwanted pet whos days are numbered. :D

Thanks for the link. :)

Hi everyone! Tonight my son's wrestling team had a skating party .... I haven't been roller skating in over 30 years, lol, it was a blast! I've roller-bladed, but not the old fashioned roller skates in a roller rink. I'm glad I was coming out of my herx ... yesterday I wouldn't have been able to push myself.

Carla,

I LOVE rollerskating. :D

Its been a few years since I've gone but its one of my most favorite things!

When I was young I spent most of my time at the roller rink. I used to skate competitively...figure skating, dance, freestyle...it was a big part of my childhood. I stopped when I got more interested in the boys at the rink...and less interested in paying attention to my instructor. :P

I still have alot of fun going to a roller rink. :)

Everyone,

Dr H's office called about 20 min ago to say I tested positive for Babesia! YAY!!! Well, not yay like I'm glad I have it, but yay that we are finding out more and more info! :D Also, the nurse said with a CD57 as low as mine, to make sure I don't get sick. She was really quite shocked at how low it was.

Congrats on yet another answer!! Its all coming together for you now. :)

Is it possible to have babs with no Lyme?

It is possible....but highly highly unlikely.

Its possible to get any co-infection without Lyme...but thats not usually the case. I had asked my BioSET practitioner this question...she said that its not impossible to just have a coinfection...but shes never seen it...her experience is that when there is co-infection...there is also Lyme...and vice versa.

And I don't think its my liver that is bothering me. I think its my kidney, adrenal, area. I went to my chiro who does muscle testing and acupuncture. She said she doesn't think its my liver according to my tests. I did some acupuncture and am trying to drink kidney supportive drinks now. UGH So frustrating! I am wondering if Humaworm started this? It all seemed to happen when I was a week or 2 into humaworm.

You may have redistributed metals while you were on the Humaworm...that might have stressed your kidneys. Kidneys need extra support whenever you're doing anything to detox metals or anything which could potentially mobilize metals.

Nope, I don't have any amalgams. :) I did have braces for a while, and that's it. I definitely think that the tingling is related to the chelating mercury.

I started having tingling in my mouth (tongue/teeth) at the same time my health started declining. It improved alot after all the fillings/crowns were removed. I still get it occassionaly if I'm eating something that adds to my toxicity.

Dear Andrea,

I am glad I am back, too! It felt weird not being on here! This is my place. I have been restricting my fat intake, and am improving slightly. Still, it might now hurt to explore the corn-free side of things.

We cannot get our air vents cleaned, either. It is just too expensive! Mom and Dad have lived here for nearly 30 years now. They built it. I shudder to think what could be hiding in our grates!

Dear Paula,

Not more mold! I am not surprised, though. That would explain why the Candida issues are so bad. You will never get well if you have Candida and are constantly being exposed to mold. Thank goodness you have the resources to get rid of it. I can bet you anything we have toxic mold, but Dad lives in his own little universe where there is no such thing as toxic mold. Oh, also; he knows everything and is God.

Cleaning out the vents is a dangerous endeavor to partake in. If you can avoid doing it yourself, that would be best. I think some of the reason you felt sick was because you came into contact with the mold and did not wear a mask. Breathing in those spores will really make you ill. I am so sorry to hear you were glutened and caseined due to your inconsiderate son! I know what that is like no thanks to my parents!

I watch "Intervention" a lot. You know, I was thinking the same thing you were when I saw this episode!

RA often is caused by Lyme. In my opinion, every teenager should watch this series. They need to know what they are getting themselves into before they try drugs. For so many people I went to high school with, it is too late.

Dear Donna,

That is a major obstacle having all of your stuff where the mold is! You kind of are in an awkward situation there. It makes sense you may switch churches and do not want the congregation to feel like they were just used. I hope the choir and other church issues will be peacefully taken care of. People have been getting into it at my parents' church with the pastor lately. This just began suddenly, and is quite strange.

I am glad your spots and visual disturbances are gone. Those can really make reading and other things difficult. Mine are still around. What is causing them is a mystery, but the migraines could be why.

At least I am not seeing purple cows like my brother did on the Phenergan! Chad decided he is not going to take that stuff anymore!

I bet your spots were caused by the Ambien. They may be a side-effect. Medications like that always have those. April said she did not sleep on it, either. She did see spots, though.

Sven might make me blush, too! It would be in a good way, though. Plus, he can be really dumb. That means we can trick him into doing housework for us! Hey, he is my fantasy. I can have him do anything I want. :P There is just something really hot about a guy doing housework.

Naturally, Sven will give massages as well. I may get sort of shy about it. I can see why you were bashful with your male massage pros. This can bring a whole new meaning to being rubbed the wrong way.

Can you imagine how many girlfriends these guys must have been forced to give massages to?

I think those of us who suffer with insomnia do not like waking others. Sleep is the only time I am happy because I am not suffering. Except, all of this talk about worms had me dreaming about them again! They were everywhere. It was awful! Go to happy place, go to happy place...

Babs is important to address. Samento looks like the best option for a lot of people. Carla is still on it.

For some reason, I thought she was off of it. Well, now I know she is not!

Heart palpitations can be caused by many things. Vitamin deficiencies are one possibility. However, my Thyroid being hyper is likely the source of them now. That might improve once it is sorted out. With my body, who knows?

Your doctor seems to have a plan! Adrenals can get stressed very badly. I am glad you try to control your stress level. Killing my parents would get rid of a lot of stress, but they are so not worth going to jail for. Besides, all I would inherit is debt! That is one lousy legacy.

Neurotransmitters are more complicated. I think you are on a good path, though. Everything is falling into place. All of this is so fascinating! At least now you know the neurotransmitters were over-stimulated and that is why you could not sleep!

Cancer pops up a lot, I bet. Everyone in our family seems to have had it in one form or another. That is a dreaded word. No one wants to hear that. Something you may find interesting is in an article it said that for some reason, people who suffer from eczema and other allergies tend not to develop brain cancer.

You have been to Mexico for sure. Cholera is quite common there and in other places like Africa. Water is not clean at all in such countries. Thank goodness for bottled water! I wonder if there is a charity to donate bottled water to impoverished people in these nations?

The bandage must have been the culprit! Adhesive can have gluten. Tape makes me itch, too. I am a rash waiting to happen. I always was. When I was three, we had to stop using Mr. Bubble because it made me break out!

Dear April,

Alcohol irritates my stomach. Two lousy sips of a margarita, and I will have reflux to the point I feel like I swallowed a Netsuke dragon! I have never liked the taste of alcohol anyway. Beer smells like a mix of vomit and urine. Wine has a bad taste to me as well. I will cook with it, but cannot stand to drink it.

Your kidneys may be stressed from the metals. The HW may have redistributed them. This is a sign you are not detoxing properly. Didn't you say your sulfur pathways were blocked? Chelation cannot be done until this problem is resolved. Adrenals often need extra support due to being in the same vicinity.

Stopping HW was probably wise. Your body must not be handling it. Otherwise, those symptoms would not have appeared. If it was a herx, you would have felt better afterward. Parasites hold a lot of mercury.

As the parasite dies off, it gets released into the system. As long as you are detoxing, this is fine. In your case, it sounds like it is harmful, because metals are just being moved around and redistributed.

Maybe Dr. J is the right doctor for you. Getting a feel for them is all you can do. Going by recommendations is not always helpful. I went to numerous specialists before that were said to be terrific, only to be told I was crazy. It was very frustrating.

Dear Patti,

Thank you for the link! I read every page! It was all so neat. Why can't more doctors be like Dr. Oz?

He seems to be open-minded, and to use common sense.

That worm was exactly as I expected it to be. I knew they could grow to that size. Those things eat more than anything. It is disgusting and cool all at once! Me and Rachel are probably going to be the only ones in the Parasite Club of Rachelville, aren't we?

Dear Kassandra,

How exciting about your Babs diagnosis! We have been waiting for this. As Rachel said, it is very unlikely you do not have Lyme if there is a co-infection. Most of the time, Lyme is there right with it. The nurse is right. You need treatment now!

My Phenergan dosage is 25mg as well. I can take it as often as every 6 hours if need be. In the hospital, they injected me every 4 hours. That is probably why I felt like I was being thrown to the floor and my mother had to help me walk. I try not to take it unless I get glutened or something, but lately I have had to take it more than usual.

Dad thinks it is my tooth. An abscess can make you sick. I do not see why that bacteria could not travel to your stomach. They go all over the place. My tooth gets out Thursday. I am worried I will puke on the dentist or something. Pray that my stomach does okay.

I was wondering, can you have low ferritin and not be anemic? I used to be anemic when I was your age. This is interesting. After my periods were lightened up by the Depo, that got better. Fatigue is a major symptom for me.

Stitches do itch! At least you know you are healing that way. I remember after my gallbladder surgery I itched where my incisions were something awful. I had to leave it alone, though. Are you still flushing out your PICC line daily?

I might have to check on those 10 minute workouts! I may be able to do something like that. Of course, I am pretty sure I am going to do the 6WBMO. Everyone says it is the real deal. It could help my health and my shape.

I used to love rollerblading. I found out later that was bad for my body type. It makes your butt, thighs, and hips bigger. What a bummer! Right now, the streets will be too flooded for you to skate on anyway.

Too bad the rain did not last a little longer so you could have worn your adorable outfit!

Dear Carla,

It would make sense with the charcoal and Donna's C if it began when she took it at first. Detoxing can cause C. That is how it ended up for some people. A lot of binders cause this from what I have heard.

Apparently, toxins are not the only thing they bind!

Our weather has been similar to yours. Evansville always has odd weather. This is nothing new. It has been too windy for me to sit outside on the porch, though. I like to do that when the weather is nice. Pale people like me need the sun for a little color!

Do you alternate Samento with other supplements? I know you are on a number of different ones. You had to treat the Bart with others. It is the one that caused the bacterial dysbiosis, right? I recall you talking about Uva Ursi, Oil of Oregano, and all of your probiotics.

Your lymphs do sound stopped up. I do not think they should hurt if they are healthy. Rebounding should not result in that. Once you have things working well, you will know. It can take some time.

Happy anniversary! Can you believe you joined the forum two years ago? It is sort of like a second birthday. Joining this community is what started you on your path to wellness. That is something to celebrate.

Rollerblading was always my favorite thing. I used to go around our neighborhood many times. This would be equivalent to several miles. I would never be able to do that now. How did I do it then?

Rollerskating is awkward not that I am used to rollerblading. The feeling is different. Once you have used lined skates, getting used to the other kind again is hard. I would love to be able to ski, but know I would probably run into a tree or something. Maybe one day when I am feeling brave!

I agree that April should make up her own mind about Dr. J. Each doctor is different with each patient.

This varies greatly. LN posters can be very touchy. That is why I avoid the place.

It makes sense to avoid saunas on rough days. Epsom salt baths seem to help a lot of people. I am not sure if they would help me or not. I am kind of afraid to do them, because I am not sure if I am detoxing or not. If I do anything before knowing this, I could do more harm than good.

Dear Nyxie63,

I say go for the appointment with Carla's doctor! He has done her a world of good. If I could go see him, I would be there so fast you would not be able to count to one! This guy is terrific. You will probably regret it if you do not take this opportunity to see him.

Listening is important when trying to help a friend get through a loss. Alison's ears will be the best gift she can give Noah's mother right now. Enduring a loss of this magnitude is very traumatic. No words can heal this pain. Time only does so much. No matter how long it has been since a death, the pain is always so fresh.

Crying does release chemicals. Toxins can build up in your system if you do not release them through tears. That is true. Many people do not know this. I often feel better once I cry.

People are quite cruel with what they say. It really annoys me when people say such things that you mentioned, like "You are young. You can have more children." They ignore the fact that a soul cannot be replicated. An individual human being was taken from you, and that is not replaceable. I view death a bit differently, because I know that the dead are around us all the time. Still, the physical part is what is so difficult to get used to. You cannot touch or hug them anymore.

Dear Susie,

I am doing a little better right now, but worry it will not last. You know how that goes. Respond when you can to my message! Do not stress over it! I was happy to write it, and you are very welcome!

My lymphs bother me off and on all of the time. Alcohol does not seem to have a particular affect on them. They just flare up here and there. Sinuses do tend to be associated with it. At least, that is how it works with me.

Your neti pot sounds wonderful! It is great that it is helping. Many people love them. Mom got one once, but we have no clue where it is. This house could hide an elephant.

Dear Rachel,

Me and you in the Parasite Club! It is in the pursuit of scientificness, you know. We so nerdily accept the honor of being members. :D Speaking of worms, how about calling yours Willie? I think that fits. Do you remember that song that says "Willie won't go?"

You used to figure skate? I always wanted to do that! Rollerblading always was a blast. Dancing is something I love to do, as well. The kids used to watch me at school dances. I learned to dance watching the Fly Girls on "In Living Color".

M sounds so sweet to be protective of you like that! It is a good thing she did not find out about the sip of alcohol you had. She would have flipped! How weird that you got a buzz from it! Coffee is my favorite buzz.

You are welcome for the e-mail! I had to hunt your address up. It was not in my quick click list yet. Now it is! No more hide and seek with those!

Dear Birdy,

You are so welcome! I am glad you liked your PM. I had way too much to respond to the other day.

A week makes a huge difference! This is especially so when our thread churns out five pages a day on average.

I am glad to hear your ionic magnesium helped the liver pain. Who would have known that to work for this? You learn more every single day. Keep us updated. You are still going to see the LLMD at the end of the month, right?

Dear Everyone,

Well, I am so angry I could spit nails! I called my doctor's office yesterday, and they said my doctor had not ordered the IgeniX test kit yet because she did not have time. It has been a freakin' month! My parents began going on and on about how she has done nothing for me, while they are being unfair in the sense that she wanted to run tests before, but we did not have the money. She does not appear to be taking me seriously, which is upsetting to say the least.

Now, the hair crisis continues. Mom is afraid we cannot afford to keep up what I want done. I am going to call and ask about maintaining the look I told you I want. Could it be my black hair is attracting bad things? This is just plain crazy!

Sincerely,

Jin

Jin - hi! glad your feeling a little better. Yes I do know exactly how it feels to worry that it won't last - I'm in that place right now  I feel loads better emotionally, but am a little concerned about what the next couple of weeks will bring with good old hormone fluctuations and all. Sorry to hear about your problems with your dr - unfortunately, this sort of thing does not surprise me anymore. I hope you manage to get them to sort it out. And yes the neti pot is helping. I think it'll be a long road though.

On the tapeworm - Rachel, you sound so much like me. As you know, I have an underactive thyroid, but eat for England! The possibility of having a worm inside me totally freaks me out! How did you find out that you have a worm? By testing or symptoms?

On the alcohol - don't like the sound of it being a lyme related symptom  If I was in the US, I'd definitely get tested for Lyme as I do have quite a few of the symptoms and grew up in lyme country. My sister (who also has celiac disease and very similar health probs to me in general) was definitely bitten by a tick and was put on anitbiotics straight away as a preventative measure. I wouldn't have a clue as to where to start on that road in the UK.

I've at last got an appointment with Dr P, allbeit a phone consultation, as he couldn't actually see me till March. It's next Wednesday. When I get time, I'll probably do a longer post here about my current symptoms etc to get some help on what qus to ask him.

You're right. I'll give Dr H a call today and see when he can fit me in.

I feel in such limbo right now. There are other things I need to do and just can't get up the motivation or energy to do them. I want to schedule a bone density scan (don't even have a clue who to call for this one - an orthopedist?). Need to see a dermatologist about a few funky things that bother me. Need to find another GI. It seems I'm only capable of dealing with one health thing at a time or I get overwhelmed. I also seem to have become dr-shy. I've had such a long run of bad docs I think I've actually become reluctant to see new ones because I'm afraid of running into more of the same.

Have an appt with a new endocrinologist on the 28th, but considering canceling it. He's certainly not going to approve of the iodine treatments I'm on and will most likely recommend surgery to remove at least half my thyroid. It seems to be standard practice these days to remove rather than to heal and that just doesn't sit well with me.

In other news, Hubby dragged me out to see Sweeny Todd last night. The movie was wonderful! A bit graphic and gory, but wonderful! :) There was nothing at the concession stand I could eat. Wish there was a good substitute for popcorn. Its just not the same watching a movie without popcorn and tons of pseudo-buttery goodness.

Got glutened on Saturday. Was soooo hungry and did a no-think. Hubby brought home some meatballs from the local convenience store and I scarfed them down without rubbing two brain cells together. Bad! Very bad! Swelled up like a balloon, had incredible abdominal pain, was nauseous, and D. I think that's finally settling down. Wondering if that might have something to do with my current mindset as well. I've been depressed, negative (more than usual), cranky, and irritable.

Btw, stool testing..... EW! That has to be the grossest thing I've ever done. On day 2 of it today.

I don't know why but I have been putting this off!! I think about how I need to call and make the appt but I have a "mental block" about it. Crazy huh!
No, the sicker I am, the more I'm afraid of the phone. Go for it. Set it as your only goal one day. You will feel satisfied once you do it.

Dont know if thats true or not...but thought I'd mention it in case you still notice problems later on.
I plan on talking to Dr. H about it this week. I don't think it's still there, but I was planning on taking another round of Humaworm after 90 days just to be sure and see if I see any more of it. I've gained 6 pounds! I don't really need to gain any more, LOL. But the weight gain and eating less is pretty much telling me it's gone.

HELLO...I'm afraid to eat a YAM....how can she possibly think I'm gonna get crazy with the alcohol!!

Well, maybe it's that sometimes you Rachel yams and other food you shouldn't, but that's just a shot in the dark here .....

I LOVE rollerskating. :D

Its been a few years since I've gone but its one of my most favorite things!

Me, too. I used to go every weekend back in middle school .... so it's been a while! I just went and skated .... didn't do all the fancy stuff, but I could (and still can) skate frontwards and backwards. :)

I tried going backwards on rollerblades once .... I couldn't figure out how to stop and had to fall down! I like rollerblading, too, but it's better for bike trails ... I didn't use my rollerblades last night.

Oh and Carla....

HAPPY ITS-NOT-REALLY-MY-BIRTHDAY!! :lol::lol:

Hope you enjoyed it! :P

I take the Samento every night before bed. I'm not on anything right now for dysbiosis other than probiotics.

Bart was causing GI issues for me, but it was not the cause of dysbiosis.

I wouldn't have a clue as to where to start on that road in the UK.
I would go to the European Lyme board for more information on how to look into Lyme in England. I know some people fly to NY to see my doctor from England .... kinda makes my trip look easy!

The possibility of having a worm inside me totally freaks me out! How did you find out that you have a worm? By testing or symptoms?

Because of my weight loss parasites were always suspected but never showed up in any stool tests I was given. The conventional Dr.'s were totally clueless about parasites...my Dr. had said that unless I'd been to a third world country I wouldnt have to be worrying about parasites.

That Dr. did order tests...but only for a couple parasites. One was Giardia (sp?).

I had more testing later on with more informed Dr.'s but nothing showed up in any stool tests. They did say that even though they werent finding anything there were probably still parasites...just that they're hard to diagnose.

The parasite was found by my ART practitioner (Dr. Amy). This has been the best type of testing I've had available to me...I find it to be more accurate than the lab tests for some things. My metals and fungal issues were also identified using ART....these were confirmed with conventional tests.

My IgeneX tests for co-infections were all negative but Babesia was found in ART as well as other types of energetic testing. I've been treating that for several months now....my last session it was undetected.

I was thinking that since its the body itself which absorbs nutrients and steals calories symptoms would be less noticeable if the worm is smaller in size??

This was from yesterdays Oprah show (the link Patti posted)...

Tapeworms attach their suckers to the hosts' stomach and siphon calories. The only thing their long bodies do is use up the calories they steal. "In fact, one of the things that folks who have tapeworms complain of is weight loss," Dr. Oz says.

So if the body is small I would assume the worm isnt taking as much??

Makes me think my worm must be HUGE.

If the head is still attached the worm will grow back...plus it would still be causing stress on the body.

I dont know for sure but thats what I was thinking about. Glad you'll be bringing it up to the Dr. I'm interested in what he says.

Paula,

Sorry you got "yucked". Hope you're feeling better soon. Were you the one asking about hemp milk? I've tried it and its not bad. Its thicker than rice milk and doesn't have the bitter flavor I've found a lot of soy milks have. It also has a lot of good stuff in it (protein, omega fatty acids). I buy Living Harvest Original Flavor hemp milk. I've only tried it on cereal. Haven't tried it plain. Its not bad tho.

Kassandra,

Yay on your results! Answers are a goooood thing. :)

Birdy,

Glad to hear the magnesium's working! What brand are you taking?

Jin,

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Good luck at the dentist on Thurs. No puking on the nice dentist! :D

Alison,

Sorry for the unsolicited advice about your friend. It's a kind of soft spot with me and I try to help others deal with this when I can. If she feels like she wants to talk with someone who's been through it, PM me and I'll give you my contact info.

I can't drink alcohol at all anymore. Had one glass of champagne on New Year's Eve for the toast and was sick as a dog. Explosions on both ends (sorry TMI), whole body ached for a couple of days. Was like having the flu without the fever. Not going to be doing that again any time soon. Been having problems with alcohol for awhile now. Hasn't seemed to matter what I drink or how much, I usually end up with a 3-day hangover.

You post on LN under a different name, don't you? I was talking to someone on LN about getting glutened by meatballs the other day ... was that you?

Yup! That's me! The blueberry girl. ;)

Btw, it was great chatting with you the other night.

.

Im sorry u got glutened, but were the meatballs good, id ratehr be flutened from eating something good then eating an apple out of a dirty bowel lol.

Yes stool tezting is gross, im so glad im done with it lol

LOL! I'm Curiouser over there. Didn't say "Hi Carla!" because I'm still not sure just how much people are in stealth mode over there.

The meatballs were fabulous! :P LOL! You're right about the glutening.

I'm to the point lately where, when I'm hungry, I gotta eat something. Lost 2 more pounds this past week. Down to 158 now. I was 185 at the beginning of Oct. This really has to stop. That's probably why I didn't even think about if the meatballs had gluten in them or not.

I was talking with hubby about the stool testing. He stuck his fingers in his ears. "LA LALA LALA LA. I can't hear you!"

Oh, yeah!! LOL! I never knew that was you! But, yeah, I sometimes use my name in PM's over there, but not on the board ... and I don't post my name from there over here in case someone Googles it. :) I'm in stealth mode. I talk way too much about treatment over there to identify myself. :)

Sat. night was fun! There were so many people there and all were chatty.

Egads, busy night!

Ha, rollerskating...if you ever want to see something truly amazing, just watch me rollerskating. I can only go one direction. Forward. I can't stop, I can't go backward...only forward. To stop I have to crash into a wall or a person.  If I fall, I might as well just sit there cuz I ain't getting up! :P

Kassandra,

Ohh, the DVD sounds good...maybe I'll check that out. Congratulations on finding one more piece to the puzzle!!! I was so excited when the blood tests confirmed lyme because it meant we could try to fix it...you can't fix what you don't know.

Oh, and you can do what I did when I lived in Hawaii...still wear the cute outfit but just put on extra deoderant, lol.

Paula,

I think a lot of time RA is misdiagnosed lyme. :(

Carla,

72 degrees!!! :o Wow, lol.

April,

Wow, only IV abx...I agree with Carla though, I try to feel him out yourself...could be true or it could just be what was true for that patient.

The Humaworm could definitely have stirred up something.

And, I also put off doing stuff...a few months ago I could hardly make a phone call at all. It's gotten better, but I still tend to put off the stuff that I don't want to deal with. I think for me it has to do with stress...it's stressful to deal with it, but in the end it's more stressful not to...I just have to keep my mind on that. :P I definitely feel overwhelmed with it all...a good case in point...my carpet. It's overwhelming to me and I just can't seem to do anything about it.

Birdy,

I've been forgetting to take my magnesium...you're making me more resolved to take it, lol.

Rachel,

I believe it...one or two sips can buzz me for sure. Last week someone put chocolate cherries in the kitchen...now, this is one of my all time favorite holiday candies, so I decided to break my diet and have just one...it had alcohol in it, lol. The one stupid candy made me feel spacey for quite a while...could be the sugar, could be the alcohol or could be a combo of both, lol.

 your little alien pet!

Jin,

 your parents!!

Yeah, not only Mexico, but I spent 3 weeks in Guatemala...most of that in the jungles and travelling around to less populated and more rural areas. And let me tell you, some of what I ate couldn't be identified! I ordered a cheeseburger, and the meat was DEFINITELY NOT hamburger, lol. My friend got really sick there...I did get sick too, but it was only for a day.

Then there was the Panama Canal trip in 2006...I must have been bitten by a dozen stupid hungry mosquitos just one morning while going through the canal...then in Jamaica, we went down the river on a raft...our raft "driver" gave us some fruit which he washed in the river. Probably not the smartest thing I ever did, but I ate it. :(

Susie,

Glad you have a phone consult coming up soon!

Nyxie,

I had a bone scan last year...I just went to a regular primary care provider (who I go to only for annual exams now, lol)...since I'm over 50, she ordered a scan for me without hesitation.

Yeah, see my comment above about being overwhelmed...if I have too much to deal with at one time, I just can't process it all and nothing gets done. I also have to go see a dermatologist. I had a spot on my arm that used to itch like crazy...there was a little brown spot there...a few years ago I showed it to a dermatologist and he burned it off with a laser. Darned thing just popped up again and is itching like crazy again, and the spot is back. :(

Stool testing! Yes, very gross. I've had to do 3-4 in the last couple of years. Not fun at all.

I'll have to look for hemp milk...I know I didn't like the hemp shake powder I bought, but maybe I could handle the milk, lol.

HI @Kirbyqueen That's great news your insurance will be kicking in soon.  Sorry to see that you have been dealing with this for six months now, but I do hope you have managed to find some relief with some of the suggestions in the meantime. Perhaps come back and let us know what the doctor says. Cristiana

I agree, and hopefully your doctor will contact you soon about the next step, which will likely be an endoscopy to confirm your diagnosis. Do you have celiac disease symptoms?

Still dealing with this rash on my legs. I've eliminated ringworm (through use of topical ointments). And I also know it's not shingles, as I've never had chickenpox before and I'm still fairly young. Through a lot of online research, I'm leaning more towards dermatitis herpetiformis, eczema, or psoriasis. I've actually got a doctor's appointment in May (finally got some insurance) and I'm going to bring it up then. I'm feeling really hopeful and excited to maybe be getting some relief soon.   Big thanks to everyone for the suggestions and positive thoughts!

You have three celiac disease specific antibody tests that are positive: Endomysial  Antibody IGA (aka, EMA), tTG-IGA, and tTG_IGG. Furthermore, your Immunoglobulin A at 55 is low, meaning you are IGA deficient. This one is not an antibody test for celaic disease per se but a measure of "total IGA" levels and if low (yours is low) it can suppress the individual antibody scores and even cause false negatives. So, yes, it definitely looks like you have celiac disease.   Do not yet begin a gluten free diet as your physician may refer you to a GI doc for an endoscopy/biopsy of the small bowel lining for confirmation of the antibody testing. This may help:

Hi, I received my labs via email yesterday and have not heard back from my doctor yet. Can anyone tell me if these results indicate I have Celiac?      Endomysial Antibody IgAPositive  Ft-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA6  H0-3 (U/mL) - Negative 0 - 3 - Weak Positive 4 - 10 - Positive >10 - Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten-sensitive enteropathy. FImmunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum55  L87-352 (mg/dL) Ft-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgG183  H0-5 (U/mL) - Negative 0 - 5 - Weak Positive 6 - 9 - Positive >9
