Not Really Sure.....

Well, a few weeks ago, I thought possibly I had a bad tooth. Well after finding a dentist that actually took a patient, not of their own and getting checked out, it is my sinuses. Well, I do have allergies and I called my pcp and got a script for augmentin. Well at first it was fine, about the third day I felt sick, still in pain and figured it was all caused by the sinus inflamation. So I keep taking the medication, pain subsided after about 8 days and the doctor said to finish the meds cause he wrote it for 15 days. I have three days left and not taking it anymore.

I do have celiac, diagnosed by biopsy and then bloodwork and really never had any symptoms until I eat something now since going gluten free, or possibly in this case took a medication that I shouldn't have. My doctor knows I have celiac as well. I have felt bloated, stomache cramps, missed 2 1/2 days of work, nauseous, d but only slight until today, and also felt like I am there but not really. I know that sounds weird, but has anyone else felt like that and have any suggestions? Also does anyone really know what is in Augmentin? I tried looking it up but then you have to look those words up and then those words and get lost in figuring it all out. :(

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I am calling the pharmacy and also calling the doctor to see if there is anything else that can be done. <_<

Hi Lisa,

I can't help you with what's in augmentin but can say I cannot tolerate it either. For me, it was horrible stomach pains, the big D, and swollen fingers with a rash on my face. The doc had to switch me to something else. My pharmacists said that alot of people get D with augmentin but the swollen fingers and rash is not as common. Hope you feel better soon!

Augmentin makes me vomit.

I have heard it is very hard for many to digest.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
