Help! Could this be DH on the scalp?
Scott Adams replied to FitnessMom's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
It did for me, as I had it for years in only one small spot on the back of my lower thumb joint. Interestingly, and I’m talking about the mid 90’s here, I had a dermatologist recommend UV treatment as a therapy, which I never tried. I did, however, badly sunburn (imagine the entire area on the back of each of your hands as one big blister!) the backs of ... -
Initial Blood Test
Scott Adams replied to Jmeso899's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Unfortunately your doctors are giving you bad advice. You are correct and you need to eat about two slices of wheat bread daily for at least 6 to 8 weeks before taking a blood test for celiac disease. You should eat gluten daily for at least two weeks before doing an endoscopy. -
I think my daughter would like this one!

Help! Could this be DH on the scalp?
Scott Adams replied to FitnessMom's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Since your twin has celiac disease that means you have an approximately 44% chance of also having it. Have you ever had a blood test for celiac disease? All first relatives of people with celiac disease should be screened regularly for it due to their high risk of also having it. I recommend you get a blood screening for it, and you need to keep eating... -
Help with testing
Scott Adams replied to Xvd's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome, can you please clarify what you've posted here? It sounds like you had a celiac disease blood panel, and an endoscopy that looked for celiac disease, and both tests were negative, is this correct? Also, it sounds like you do still have issues with gluten, and if so, that likely puts you in the NCGS category, as @trents mentioned. Please let us know... -
Welcome to the forum. If your sister has gluten sensitivity, as you claim, then she should not be eating wheat from any country, including any European wheat, but it is possible that she may tolerate certain strains better than others. Gluten sensitivity is not the same thing as celiac disease, which is an autoimmune disease. Because of this she may...

Most Space Food is Gluten-Free, but No Celiac Astronauts Allowed
Scott Adams commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
The USA military currently rejects people with celiac disease who want to serve their country. The history of NASA's astronaut recruitment, covering at least the 1950's - 1990's, has been heavily dominated by those who also served in the military. To this day US military veterans probably still make up a high percentage of astronauts, so if you only consider... -
I think it's natural to look back at negative health events that happen after you get some sort of a vaccine, and then blame those health issues on getting this or that vaccine (this happened with parents of kids with autism, but large studies were done which show no such correlation between vaccines and autism, yet many people still believe in such a correlation...

It may not be necessary, but for many with celiac disease, especially this soon after his diagnosis, it may help relieve any ongoing symptoms that he has. I had to cut all dairy out at the time of my diagnosis, along with a few other things, for at least a year before my gut healed enough to be able to process them again. I was able to add them back to my...

I am on several email lists for new research on covid-19, including The New England Journal of Medicine's. I read new info about it daily. I believe you mean the totally debunked VAERS report claims that are discussed here: https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-covid19-vaers/fact-check-vaers-data-does-not-prove-over-2000-deaths-due-to-covid-19... -

I am passing on the CDC's advice, and I don't need "authority" to do so: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/your-vaccination.html Get vaccinated if you haven't. This pandemic will continue until we reach a much higher percentage level of vaccinated people, and is running rampant in areas where the vaccination rate is low. -
