  1. This can vary greatly from person to person. Some people have symptoms right away that last for hours, some don't get symptoms for hours or even days, and some people report their symptoms lasting for weeks.
  2. Welcome to the forum! Your symptoms certainly could be caused by celiac disease and/or gluten sensitivity. This article may be helpful:
  3. This is an old article with some old citations, but there has been a link seen between sarcoidosis and celiac disease, although I've not seen much research on this since: This article also discusses lung issues:
  4. These are some old issues, but they probably still have some good info.
  5. Some people point out that you may forgo possible follow up treatment for celiac disease, but most doctors don't freely offer this--mine have never done so, and I've had to ask for any of the follow up checks to see if my antibody levels went down, etc. I've never been offered a follow up biopsy to see if my gut ever healed, but I'm reasonably sure that it...
  6. Celiac.com 04/26/2021 - Doctors are still figuring the best way to tell celiac disease from non-celiac wheat or gluten sensitivity. A team of researchers recently assessed some key differences between celiac disease and non-celiac wheat...
  7. If your symptoms are improving on a gluten-free diet, and you’re good with staying on the diet without a piece of paper that tells you it’s required, I don’t see a need for the diagnosis, do you? Eating gluten daily for 6 weeks or more could cause you serious issues.
  8. Celiac.com 04/24/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. We recently wrote about how Claritin is gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease. That answer brought...
  9. I agree that nutritional deficiencies could be an environmental trigger of celiac disease in susceptible individuals with the genetic markers for celiac disease. It may also explain non-celiac gluten sensitivity which is now recognized as a different condition. However it is unclear whether correcting the nutritional deficiencies could reverse either condition...
  10. Yes, but if you have celiac disease it can take an average of two years for your gut to fully heal, and it will only do so if your diet is 100% gluten-free. Also, this part of your post has me concerned: To me it sounds like you intend on eating gluten, but have celiac disease and/or gluten sensitivity. If you have either condition you should...
  11. I agree with @trents regarding oats and dairy, you may want to exclude them from your diet for a few months, then re-test. This article might be helpul: Also, it may make sense to get another biopsy to check your villi condition, as there are a small percentage of celiacs who do develop refractory celiac disease. We have many articles summarizing the...
  12. You might want to try a good pro/pre biotic, this one is good, however it doesn't say "gluten-free" on the label, but there are no gluten ingredients: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NSXBYVV/
  13. Broccoli is well known to cause gas in some people.
  14. How long have you been taking the acid reducer? In general they are over-prescribed, and can cause other health issues when taken long-term, like mineral deficiencies.
  15. Those are definitely high numbers. I assume your next step would be to start on a gluten-free diet, but be sure to discuss your results with your doctor first. Let us know how things go. Your first degree relatives should also be screened, as ~44% of them could also have it. This article will be helpful:
  16. As usual, very interesting research. I've been taking both, so hopefully their research is correct!
  17. It's unfortunate to hear that you have to go through a gluten challenge. I seriously doubt the people who administer the vaccine would have an answer for you, but given the known risks associated with getting covid-19 I would still proceed with the vaccine. I've not seen any published studies on this specifically, but you can review some of the articles we...
  18. Many people with celiac disease avoid sugar because it can contribute to candida/SIBO overgrowth, as well as other things. I was diagnosed with heliobactor pryori at the same time as my celiac diagnosis. It took a while, but cutting out sugar an important part of my recovery, along with a gluten-free diet.
  19. As mentioned in my reply to your other post, you should check with your doctor about whether or not they want to do a biopsy to confirm your diagnosis. Those ingredients look safe, and these lists will be helpful to you, you may want to bookmark them:
  20. Welcome the the forum! It looks like you have a strong positive blood panel for celiac disease, and you have the genetic marker as well, so your next step may be a biopsy, although many doctors are diagnosing it without a biopsy if the blood test results are high enough. Your doctor may want you to continue to eat gluten daily until a biopsy is done...
