  1. At least one person has reported that a pre-packaged gluten-free brownie is available in some Dunkin' Donuts locations.
  2. Dr Peter McCullough, according to his own bio anyway, is an internist and cardiologist, not a virologist or infectious disease doctor. His bio does not mention being an epidemiologist, but, even it he is, that still would not give him the expertise needed to be taken seriously in the field of virology. His opinion on the topic of virology is one of a...
  3. You are correct that some people might get a reaction to 20ppm, however, most won't, and items with "gluten-free" are not fortified with gluten up 19ppm, which seems to be the perception among many celiacs. In many cases keeping manufactured foods below 20ppm is not much different from keeping them below 5ppm, and the companies in fact are likely aiming...
  4. Most don’t but some do. If you have celiac disease you should never eat gluten. I would not recommend it even for those who are just gluten sensitive, but in theory their health risks are lower than those with celiac disease.
  5. Yes, in the USA if labeled gluten-free they must test below 20ppm, which is considered a safe level for celiacs. Super sensitive celiacs often only eat certified gluten-free products, which certify to less that 10ppm.
  6. Sorry, but the link you shared doesn't cut it. It's too bad you can't differentiate between scientific publications and good data vs. non-scientific and bad data. I wish you and your daughter well, and that if you get covid-19 you will be in the group of those who have minor symptoms.
  7. Celiac.com 07/22/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain brands and products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about donuts. Not just donuts, but Dunkin' Donuts. Specifically, is...
  8. So you ate regular gluten-containing pizza? If so, I'm just curious why you would do that? There are lots of gluten-free choices out there, even one that contains wheat starch and tastes like real pizza:
  9. I believe that the supplements are probably gluten-free, and would not throw them out, but perhaps switch over to a brand that has "gluten-free" on the label.
  10. Thanks for clarifying her situation, and it sounds like she's been diagnosed with refractory celiac disease, and she's not recovered with a gluten-free diet. We have articles on this here: /celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/refractory-celiac-disease-collagenous-sprue/ and this article indicates that Tioguinine is a possible...
  11. One other thing that helps with the brain fog, at least for me and others here, is turmeric. Even though I'm gluten-free I take organic turmeric each day with breakfast. It reduces inflammation, and I believe has helped improve my memory. As with everything, just be sure the turmeric you get is gluten-free, as I've heard that it can also be contaminated.
  12. I take AN-PEP enzymes (GliadinX...they are a site sponsor here) before any meal outside my home, as they've been shown in several studies to break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, like you might get in a cross-contamination situation eating out. Nowadays there are apps to help you find restaurants with gluten-free menus, and I would try...
  13. I think this symptom, and the brain fog, are possible reasons why so many doctors try to prescribe anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, etc., and try to explain gluten sensitivity away as a psychological issue.
  14. Hi Alan, welcome to the forum! I think that your health is your first concern, and to me it sounds like you are doing a very good job taking care of yourself, which will probably help you a great deal with managing your school life. You've got lots of time to date and meet others, so I would not worry too much about this aspect of life. Believe it or...
  15. Yes, welcome! The 2nd worse symptom to my diarrhea was vertigo, or the feeling like things were spinning or I was falling, which also caused me to have panic attacks. The good news is that going gluten-free should fairly quickly resolve your symptoms, but be sure you fully understand the gluten-free diet. This article might help:
  16. Celiac.com 07/21/2021 - Even with a clear declaration by the FDA that all distilled alcohol is gluten-free, we still get a lot of questions about alcohol, and cocktails. Specifically, get a lot of questions about gluten-free cocktails...
  17. I'm sorry to hear you ate gluten. Please see this article, as it might be helpful:
  18. To me it seems reasonable to make the same connection in adults that this study makes with children. There have been too many people who have had the same experience here--antibody tests just below the cut off level and were told they were fine, keep eating gluten--yet their chronic symptoms would not go away until they went gluten-free. My own daughter falls...
  19. Welcome to the board! I'm not sure if you're trying to explain the later vaccine speculation in this topic, or the high red blood cell issue that some of us have discussed. I've been gluten-free for over 25 years, so it would be doubtful that my eating gluten before my diagnosis would trigger my high red blood cell condition for life. My guess is that my...
  20. Welcome to the forum Christine! Even trace amount of gluten, especially over time, can add up and cause serious health issues to anyone with celiac disease. I started taking a couple of GliadinX (they are a sponsor here--AN-PEP enzymes have been shown in studies to break down gluten before it reaches your intestines) before I eat outside my home, just in...
  21. So if I understand your post, she has celiac disease, which can cause the lesions often referred to as "collagenous sprue," and you are wanting to use this as an excuse not to get vaccinated? I believe that this is a very poor choice, especially if she's going to a university in the Fall. The vaccine may save her from being hospitalized or even dying from...
  22. I think not getting it would be a serious mistake that could cost your life, but clearly people are making such decisions. The overwhelming evidence shows that all the vaccines are safe, and very effective at keeping you out of the hospital, and from dying from what is a very contagious disease.
