  1. Many celiacs seem to have additional food intolerance issues, and the number one that we see often here would be casein/cow's milk. Have you ever tried to be dairy-free for a month or two to see if it helps?
  2. Can you share your test results with us? I’m just curious because your levels may have been high enough to demonstrate that you’re reacting to gluten.
  3. Chocolate can have a laxative and/or IBS effect in some people, so it’s still possible that your reaction is not due to gluten contamination. I’m not sure if it contains any artificial sweeteners, but some of these can also cause similar issues.
  4. Celiac.com 08/14/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. We especially get a lot of questions about baking ingredients like baking soda. Specifically, what brands of...
  5. Some of these tips may help:
  6. Although it's difficult, it would be better if you could manage 6 more days of eating gluten so you could get the celiac blood panel done. We've seen a lot of self-diagnosed people here who forever wonder if they really need to be gluten-free, and some go back to eating gluten because they are not sure that they need to be gluten-free. A formal diagnosis...
  7. Hello Brenda, welcome to the forum! Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease? Are you on a gluten-free diet?
  8. Welcome to the forum. I've had good experiences with Nature Made and Citracal supplements from Costco. I use the Nature Made B Complex, and Citracal without issues.
  9. Having a restaurant card in Nepalese is great, and you may also want to take GliadinX with you, as it can break down small amounts of gluten in your stomach, before it reaches your intestines (they are a sponsor of this site). This would be perfect for small amounts of cross contamination that you might encounter. For what it's worth, I've eaten at...
  10. Celiac.com 08/13/2021 - We get a lot of questions about baking supplies and ingredients. Specifically, we get a lot of questions about baking powder. More than a few people wonder if baking powder is gluten-free. The short answer...
  11. We're not sure either (it is distilled so likely gluten-free), but here is an article we did on this topic recently, so perhaps you can find a different one that works for you?
  12. Celiac.com 08/12/2021 - Even with a clear declaration by the FDA that all distilled alcohol is gluten-free, we still get a lot of questions about alcohol, and cocktails. Specifically, we get a lot of questions about various kinds of rum...
  13. This article has info on the various risk levels associated with the different genotypes: It's kind of hard to tell from your results, but it appears that you are positive for the DQ2 and if so have a ~2.9% chance of developing celiac disease. I would ask the lab who did this to explain this in more detail, as it's not clear.

  15. This seems to vary a lot from person to person. Many people who've been gluten-free for years have few symptoms when they get accidental cross-contamination, while others get extreme reactions that last for days or even longer. I don't think you will find that there is one good answer to this question.
  16. Hillshire Farm brand is gluten-free by ingredients: https://www.hillshirefarm.com/products/smoked-sausage/polska-kielbasa/
  17. Many people have dust allergies, but dust will cause nearly anyone to sneeze, so it could just be the dust particles that are irritating your nose and throat. Hopefully with your new gluten-free diet you will see your symptoms continue to improve. Before going gluten-free I had severe pollen allergies and my nose was constantly clogged. After about a year...

  19. Keep in mind that negative for celiac disease does not exclude non-celiac gluten sensitivity, which ~12% of people have. So she still may be gluten sensitive. Unfortunately there is currently no test for NCGS.
