  1. Celiac.com's safe food and ingredient list has been compiled and maintained for nearly 25 years. We keep the list updated with any additions or changes. Feel free to comment below if you believe something should be added to it. A...
  2. I can’t speak to the validity of the video, or whether the vaccine actually caused their symptoms, but you can watch videos all day long of people in hospitals dying of Covid, and see the funeral pyre‘s right now of thousands of people in India who are dying of Covid every day, as those with it are now being turned away from full hospitals, many of which hav...
  3. Welcome to the forum! I love how gastroenterologists have these kinds of conversations with you while you’re still half under sedation. I recall a similar strange exchange, but only barely, after my last colonoscopy. My doctor mentioned something about “feeling some kind of bump, you might want to get a follow up sooner than the normal time period, but it ...
  4. Celiac.com 05/01/2020 - If you're looking for a tasty, easy, nutritious gluten-free meal that will help you move away from the ordinary, this stir-fried broccoli chicken is just the recipe for you. Ingredients: 2 cups cubed...
  5. In the USA caramel color is gluten-free. Please provide a source for your claim that "Caramel coloring very often has gluten in it."
  6. BTW, your trigger sounds remarkably like mine. I had various issues like a very itchy rash that was probably DH since childhood, but it wasn't until I was in college and on a backpacking trip to Europe that I got full blown celiac disease, which was triggered by what I thought at the time was a classic case of food poisoning. I got violently ill after eating...
  7. My kids both have the gene as well, one is gluten-free and one isn't, but it's time he got re-tested (his last blood tests were negative, but that was years ago). I have DQ2 and DQ8, one from each parent! In any case, I'm always amazed to hear that even back in 1967 there were some amazing doctors who knew about this. Thanks for sharing!
  8. Are you worried that Prolia may contain gluten? Injected medications would not contain any gluten.
  9. It seems unlikely that celiac disease would be related in any way to anaphylaxis, however, I can say that after I went gluten-free my chronically clogged nose, which was from both pollen and food allergies, cleared up--this hadn't happened ever without allergy medicine. This makes me wonder if the fact that my immune system was so busy overreacting to gluten...
  10. That's what I was thinking! Celiac disease can cause thyroid issues in some people, and here are the research articles we've done on this: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/thyroid-pancreatic-disorders-and-celiac-disease/
  11. Wow, 1967 is way back for a diagnosis. It's amazing that she found a doctor who figured this out. Do you know how she was diagnosed? I assume a biopsy, as I don't even know if they had any blood tests back then.
  12. I'll have to give this a try, I've never had it. Udi's keeps expanding their offerings.
  13. I never eliminated coffee, but only drink black pure coffee so there are no additives to worry about. I know some people claim that it is a "cross reactor," but there is no gluten in coffee, so it is safe for those with celiac disease.
  14. Celiac.com 04/29/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. We recently answered a question about Chobani yogurt, which offers numerous gluten-free options. But that...
  15. I'm sure it's gluten-free, but some forum members have reported reactions to Daiya products, perhaps from one of its ingredients, possibly xanthan gum:
  16. On their site it says: Just to be on the safe side you may want to go with one of the brands in our article.
  17. Welcome to the forum...just send me a personal message with 3 choices of screen names and I'll update it for you.
  18. Thai food is usually gluten-free, but you do need to speak with the chef to be sure. If they are authentic and from Thailand, the chances are much higher that many of their dishes will be safe. I have found a couple of Thai restaurants that I go to regularly, but only after speaking with the owner/chef about the various dishes I order. I still take GliadinX...
  19. Unfortunately this seems to happen too often. You can get a big jump on this by learning about the gluten-free diet, and going gluten-free now. I see no reason to wait for two months if you're diagnosis is now official, which sounds like it is in your case. This article is a good starting point:
  20. Welcome to the forum! Are you still having symptoms even though you are gluten-free?
  21. Celiac.com 04/28/2021 - Dermatitis herpetiformis is an external skin manifestation of gluten sensitivity. In people with dermatitis herpetiformis, an autoimmune response targets transglutaminase 3 (TG3) in the skin. Transglutaminase 2...
