  2. You got it girl! We went to our local restaurant last night and a friend ordered a side of bacon - he got it and I ate half.
  3. Seasonal for us.... and fresh from the Sound - Baked Rock Fish (Stripped Bass) covered with bacon with roasted potatoes, carrotts, onions and celery. Everything is better with bacon!
  4. It's been a long thread and some discussions went astray .. Have you reached a conclusion? Have you found an answer?
  5. Unless your head is hanging over the boiling pot of macaroni or boiling beer, I'm pretty certain you can not get glutened by vapors floating around the house. Perhaps, handling the pasta at the fire house? In the beginning, I used to get a bit nauseated walking down the flour aisle at the grocery store, but it was just me being nervous.
  6. Salmon prepared as below, with rice seasoned with chicken bullion and dried onion with butter, and asparagus. The salmon was, as always, WONDERFUL! Served for company. Sooo easy. Tomorrow, more company..grillin' out. Ingredients 1 cup salted dry roasted pistachio nuts, chopped 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 3 Tbsp. lemon juice 1 tsp....

  8. Humm....Whole Paycheck is two hours away. When I find, it will be a treat.
  9. Too hot here for heavy food, so......Caesar salad with spiced shrimp, with homemade croutons. Oh, and cheese/garlic biscuits. And I would love to find Sheep's Cheese. I will keep a look out when we venture to the big city. Tomorrow, dinner out.
  10. We must live in the same town! Rain everywhere, except over my house.
  11. I made "carney" food, upon request. Sausage with grilled onions and peppers. Baked beans and corn on the cob. No one took leftovers home, so I have to eat it again. Yuck! Leftovers anyone?
  12. I hear that too. We will see and lightly please. Linguini was wonderful (no really great)....a great summer dinner.
  13. WELL, JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH! It's 8:15 and 92 degrees. Praying for rain after three weeks of 100 degree weather, but hoping it won't come through with too much of a kick. Linguini with clam sauce, for us.
  14. Thank you. I have this new interest in celery of all things. I made guzpatcho today...too hot for anything else.
  15. Hum...sounds interesting. Would you share?
  16. Chicken salad, marinaded green beans, tossed salad, beets and deviled eggs....94 here.
  17. Some of those 100+ pages are locked now, mostly due to not staying on topic and for other bizarre reasons. But, what's for dinner?
  18. Oh! No apology necessary. I just wanted to direct you to a place that had additional information for you from other parents of children with Celiac and how they cope.
  19. We are a bit off topic here Alex. You can find more information here: https://www.celiac.com/forums/forum/10-celiac-disease-parents-of-kids-or-babies-with-celiac-disease/
  20. Maybe you can advise her to say that she has special food that gives her super powers and she can make bullies like her/him jump out of her life. And report it to authorities, if it's a school/church situation. If a neighbor, explain the situation to the parent in a non-judgmental way...and don't associate with that child again. Even though she does...
  21. Oh, Karen beat me to it! Here's the link: http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutritionexchange/ingredientslist.pdf
  22. We do have some experienced cooks here. Some, because we need too be. Not being able to pop into restaurants, we tend to claim mastery in our own world. Well....not everyone, but some. What cravings do you have? I think someone posted a recipe for Beef Consomme. Do you have others? We can help you make it easy, tasty and healthy....with the...
  23. Copied from the FB page of the GIG: Below is the statement that appears on Dominos website and FB: (in part) "...The NFCA supports Domino's® efforts to provide a Gluten Free Crust to a national audience and has given Domino's® a "Gluten Free Ingredients" rating. The NFCA granted Domino's® this rating because of our verified ingredients, consumer ed...
  24. That's what I do, too. I always have some gluten free bread crumbs in the freezer for quick access. Hunts meatloaf sauce has a pretty good recipe on the label.
