  1. Crohns Disease and smoking have a correlation, in minimizing the symptoms. Celiac and Crohns have similar digestive issues. Crohns generally is associated with the large intestines. Might be something to look into. ..otherwise, you have received great advise.
  2. Hersey is notorious for not disclosing their ingredients, due their policy of supporting their supplier's proprietary rights. They consider their suppliers more valuable than their customers. Nope, not my favorite company.
  3. French's and Heinz are also gluten free in the US.
  4. Healing take vary from individual to individual and can range from a few weeks to two years. True diligence will be your key to success.
  5. Yes, I agree. Do have a full metabolic panel done. My b-12 was very low in conjunction with other things. I could not walk a straight line. B-12 injections, once a week for a month, then once a month for six, and a good balanced diet ofter healing...made it go away.
  6. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  7. Here is their full ingredients listing: http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutritionex...edientslist.pdf
  8. This tread is over three years old. Here is some current information based on the 2009-10 Cecelia's Market Place Gluten Free Grocery Shopping Guide (found in the Gluten Free Mall) Lubriderm - Daily Moisture Lotion (Advanced Therapy, Fragrance Free, Regular, Sensitive Skin, w/SPF 15, w/Sea Kelp Extract, w/Shea & Cocoa Butters) ....all gluten free...
  9. Currently, gluten free labeling is totally voluntary at this time. Many companies do not label, even though there is no gluten ingredients, because they do not test. Many will list a product as gluten free, yet they also list a disclairmer. And many companies will not supply a gluten free listing due to product change....there can be many "whys". Guess...
  10. Well, I think you need to apply some educated judgements when shopping. If wheat is an ingredient, it by law must be listed in the ingredient list or in the allergen statement. If wheat is not listed, it's not in there. Other forms of gluten MAY be hidden in natural flavors, but I believe that to be rare. Sometime you have to make a judgement call and...
  11. If I might suggest...that you forget about Campbell's Pace and buy the numerous products that Newman's Own makes that are gluten free. Plus the proceeds go to the many philanthropic endeavors sponsored by the Newman Family: http://www.newmansown.com/faqs.aspx#q6
  12. After going gluten free, I found myself FAR more sensitive to the effects of alcohol. It hit me harder and faster.
  13. This might help: https://www.celiac.com/articles/182/1/Unsaf...ents/Page1.html
  14. Sorry that you are feeling badly. Have you tried the honey alone, without the bread or hot chocolate?
  15. http://gfkitchen.server101.com/GFAlcohol.htm#Wine http://www.glutenfreedrinks.com/AlcoholBeverages_Wines.htm You might find this informative. I do not know the reliability of these references. I would also advise to contact the manufacturer, if you find yourself sensitive to wines. I, personally, have never had an issue.
  16. http://www.celiac.ca/EnglishCCA/egfdiet2.html#allowed https://www.celiac.com/articles/182/1/Unsaf...ents/Page1.html Regarding the Maltose - It's probably so refined that it's considered safe for Celiacs regardless of the source. I suggest other confirmation though.
  17. Here's my unexpert thoughts... Since people react to the "protein" found in wheat, barley, malt and rye. I would think that it should not be a problem to be associated with wheat dust. Perhaps during harvest time when the wheat hulls are disturbed, and if it were to "float" into the honey, it might be an issue. People with a wheat allergy, I would see...
  18. I can understand your frustration. In the Unites States, as of yet, there is no standard for labeling a product "gluten free". A company can label a product "gluten free" if there are no gluten ingredients. More and more, I see companies labeling their products "no gluten ingredients". Rarely a manufactured product can claim to be 100% gluten...
  19. Welcome, Many people here have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease secondary to other diseases such as Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Lupus and others. This is the test to requisition from your PCP: Antigliadin antibodies (AGA) both IrA and IgG Antiendomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA ...
  20. I think most drug stores have lice/nit(eggs) shampoos. Several repeat shampoos should work. Wash your hair brushes, combs, etc..
  21. It took me about six months before I could tell a glutening from time needed to heal. Everyone is different. Sometime you can react, other times you don't. Sometimes your reaction time is within hours, other times days. I've been doing it for several years and I haven't figured it out yet. I just know to be as careful as I can and go about...
  22. ileum is the lower part of the small intestines opening up into the large intestine. I would see a professional for an interpretation.
  23. Did you have a endoscopy or a colonoscopy? Flattened mucosa can be found in the small intestines and it can indicate ulcerated colitis, as well as other things of concern in the large intestines. It would be wise to pursue additional medical advise.
