  1. That sounds like food poisoning to me, since (1) corn has no gluten in it and (2) you have been eating corn fine your whole life. The only other alternative would have been if they used a coating or spices with gluten in it, but it seems unlikely to me for some reason. Hope you're feeling better...
  2. I agree with what others said. You should do the research prior to posting about opening a business based on gluten free products or foods.
  3. Hi Jenny, Welcome. I know some people have been diagnosed celiac just via blood tests before. I would talk to your doctor and find out what the next steps are. However, I believe that not eating gluten can make your endoscope come back negative for celiac even though your blood tests were positive...
  4. Hi, Welcome. Have you taken your son to the doctor yet? If you believe gluten is his problem, then I suggest you talk with your doctor about getting him tested. Could he be behaving badly due to reasons other than diet?
  5. Hi Stephen, Welcome! I am not sure because I've never drank this beverage, but gluten can be hidden if the ingredients say there are natural flavors (sometimes barely is used as a flavoring). To be on the safe side, I suggest calling the company who makes the beverage. Milk, soy and...
  6. Last year during an extremely stressful time, I was diagnosed with gastrtis. For months I had horrible excruciating stomach pain, gurgling, hot sweats/chills, letgargy, and my chest was so tight I felt like I was having a heart attack. Gastritis can cause some awful symptoms. Meds didn't help...
  7. @GFinDC and @cyclinglady, thank you for the support. I know adjustment takes time, and I know with 100% certainty that my partner is not trying to be non-supportive, he just doesn't know how to handle what is going on with me. GFinDC, I can't stand the taste of barley or rye, so I'm better off...
  8. Hi everyone, Many of you already know my saga of trying to get properly tested for celiac, but it never actually happened. For those who don't know my story, I dropped that insurance when I changed jobs and went a different route and ended up with a very kind GI and registered dietitian. The...
  9. Yes, I had those symptoms and they were horrible. A endoscope revealed chronic gastritis (last year). I was not properly tested for celiac (they did one biopsy during the endoscope, and they did not take the full blood panel), so I don't know whether I have celiac or not. However, I do know I feel...
  10. Hi @Rdugdale, Welcome! I was tested for celiac, told my numbers indicated I did not have it, got the runaround from the doctors when I told them the full blood panel was not taken, changed to a different GI who spent umpteen time with me and asked me to try the low Fodmap diet under the...
  11. I agree with the two previous posters that you need to eat more. There people with celiac who are overweight as well, and some who are of normal weight. Make all your foods at home and increase your portions. If you are not sure how much you should be eating, there are plenty of apps out there where...
  12. Meredith, this is very true. A colonoscopy is for diagnosis of the lower intestine, endoscopy for the upper intestine. How did your doctor interpret the tests? I suggest you read the link Cycling Lady gave you because it contains a lot of good information.
  13. Meredith, Welcome. The poster you are addressing has not logged in since 2011, which is five years. Chances are you will not get an answer back. How did your doctor interpret your tests?
  14. I did not have allergy testing through a naturopath but considered it once. I did not go through with it because she said she could find out what was wrong with me and "cure" me. Since it sounded like woo mixed in with expense, I ran the other way. I'm surprised your insurance did not pay for...
  15. As some may recall from my topic "Test Results" started a few months back, I have been through the ringer with getting anyone at Kaiser to listen to me about my digestive issues. I changed insurance, had a long consult with a new GI who specializes in celiac and gluten sensitivity who listened as...
