    Living Without's Gluten-Free Holiday Guide (Magazine)

    Reviewed and edited by a celiac disease expert.

    Celiac.com 10/15/2010 - I just received a copy of Living Without’s Gluten-Free Holiday Guide and am very impressed with both the quality and the content of the magazine.  This special holiday issue contains cooking tips as well as gluten and casein-free recipes that cover Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner, and New Year’s.  It also has a nice section on how to successfully entertain guests over the holidays who might have food allergies or celiac disease, and another that covers allergy-friendly gift ideas. 

    This magazine was a first for those with food allergies or gluten sensitivity, and I am very impressed with how it has evolved over the years into such a comprehensive publication.

    I love this magazine!!! The recipes are great as are the substitutions that they include in every issue! What an awesome resource for someone with celiac and multiple other food intolerance.

    Now is the perfect time of year to find a tasty, easy-to-make gluten-free pie crust!  I recently tried Inspiration Mixes gluten-free pie crust mix and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. 
    This pie crust mix is priced right and each box makes four pie crusts.  The crust only took a few minutes to make, and after a short time in the fridge it was ready to be rolled out.  I just dusted some gluten-free flour on parchment paper and simply rolled out the ball of gluten-free dough and was surprised to see how easily it transferred it into the pie pan.  It held together beautifully and wasn't dry, crumbly or gritty like some of the other brands that I have tried.  The gluten free pie crust held in place and withstood the moist filling of my pumpkin pie.

    Like all their cereals, Attune Foods has done a great job of maximizing health benefits and keeping the ingredients list rich with wholesome ingredients, while still delivering a tasty product that isn't a pain to eat. This cereal is similar to corn flakes, but not quite as flaky: it's a little tougher and chewier, and holds up to milk better.       Do you have the standard range for the test results you received? A level of anti-tTG2 antibodies at least 10x the standard range is almost certainly (>98%) due to coeliac disease.       Hi @Ginger38, By now you know that these things improve without gluten. I once saw an interview with a corporation executive where he proudly declared that his wheat products are more addictive than potato chips. Dr Fuhrman (Eat to Live) said find foods that are friendly to you to be friends with.

      Hi @CC90 Ah... that is very interesting. Although it is very annoying for you to have to go through it all again, I would say that almost sounds like an admission that they didn't look far enough last time? I could be wrong, but I would not be at all surprised if they find something on the next attempt. Coeliac damage can be very patchy, as I understand...

      Hi Cristiana Yes I've had the biopsy results showing normal villi and intestinal mucosa. The repeat endoscopy (requested by the gastro doc) would be to take samples from further into the intestine than the previous endoscopy reached.
