Rachel--24

Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

:lol::lol::lol:

Oh...I wasnt about to faint either. It takes more than that to shock me...now, if the other half of our comedy team busted out with a "scientific" post....well, then I might be needing some CPR. :lol:

Susan,

No worries, even if you never ever read any of our scientific ramblings....you will not be banished from the cult farm. We need you too much....for the laughs and the crazy stories you bring to Rachelville.

Besides....you have the dingos. :P

OMG, now I AM goign to spinach :lol:

The only science you'll get from me is.....lemme think......the latin names of plants. And maybe, identification of flora and trees in the wilderness. I think that's about it. and don't EVER EVER :ph34r: have me doing any math of any kind..... :ph34r: Thank God for online banking.....oh I guess I'm STILL supposed to reconcile my bank statements, aren't I? :ph34r::blink:

I should be painting....I just don't want to :ph34r: At this rate, the room should be done by Christmas :o

Hi Patti! Well....at least yours will be finished by THIS Christmas....mine's looking more like NEXT Christmas.... :ph34r:

:lol::lol:

Thus endeth The Lesson of the Day.

Cissie

:lol::lol::lol: Extremely enjoyable Lesson, Cissie. I had read all of that and forgotten about it. Thank you for reminding us, esteemed....what is your job title again? :blink: Shouldn't you be one of the professors in our venerable University of the Celiac Cult Farm* (UCCF) in the Celiac Oddities department, specializing in fantastic tidbits of wisdom and tales of yore??? :) Sounds perfect to me.....

*just as I wrote that I have to say, I cracked myself up and Annie the therapy dog came running in to check on me......

Coming inside for a short break from the heat.

Somethings not right...maybe I am flippin' nuts as Penguin bluntly stated a few days back.

I'm sitting here eating my corn tortillas and chicken burritos (yes, I eat corn now too :D) and reading Susans hysterical post and then I read that she's sitting in a cool dark room with a fan blowing and reading a magazine...I can picture it in my head. Sounds like heaven indeed.

In the meantime...here I am sweating, arms all bloodied with numerous scratches from all the bushes I've been trimming in the over 100 degree heat. :blink:

Something aint right about it at all....maybe I'm starting to question my own sanity here. :ph34r:

My arms hurt and I need lots and lots of bandaids. :(

What are the people at work gonna think when I come to work tomorrow with my arms looking like this??!! :blink:

OMG rachel, I LOVE this kind of gardening, when you come in battered and bloody and scratched....I used to have a motto, for most of the years of my life - esp. the climbing years - that a weekend truly wasn't GOOD if you didn't come back bloody and bruised.....so you had a good weekend! :) I never garden with long sleeves on cuz I don't like the feel of it - you should see what it looks like when I cut the roses - BUT - - - I do think you may have some kind of heat exhaustion/dehydration - - - drink TONS of water - the right kind, though, you know.....what the heck are you out in this heat now? I just spoke to my best friend in San Jose, it was 115 on the Almaden Expressway....

Rachel, are you going to the Celiac conference in Stanford in September? I will be there, we're recruiting now, you know, more people from the cult farm...... ;););)

New man, huh? Sic 'im!

Patti,

You will definitely HAVE to post some pictures when you're done.... I absolutely love to redesign/redecorate!

:D So do I! This seemed like a good idea a couple weeks ago, but then it got hot, and my husband has been busy with work, and it seems like everythings upside down and just not going fast enough for me! I'm doing the trim and lots of cutting in, but this morning I put painter's tape all around the baseboards and then just quit--I just feel "blah" and am not doing much of anything today. Mark won't be home for a couple more hours yet. Just one of those days, I guess! At least Rachel's getting something done :lol:

I will definately try and get some pictures up when it's finished--if worse comes to worse, I can always email them to you.

OMG Cissie, you are a freakin HOOT - - - - thank YOU veddy much....may I say that I LOVE my new title, believe I'll be sharing that with Cecile, dontcha know.....

can someone PLEEEEZ tell me how to make multiple quotes in one post? because, the only reason it's been happening in mine is that I get so excited and reply again to something, and it just adds it on to my previous post....did I mention that I'm kind of Amish, or at least Luddite? :ph34r: The computer and I are only friends when it's working, which thank God, is almost always....

and no, no new man....just a friend, truly. IT would kind of be like dating myself - - he is a former rock climber who studied languages and struggled deeply with depression.....yikes....and did I mention that I won't be dating for a while, because my HEART is still attached to Robert?? :(:(:(

You guys are cracking me up...and may I say, happy that I am cracking YOU up, have to get these things out of my brain or I am just laughing to myself, like a mad woman, or a crazy old Dog Lady, which OMG, I think I am now..... :ph34r:

:lol::lol::lol:

Oh, by all means! Share the title with our Cecile!

I don't KNOOOOW how to make multiple quotes in one post; so sit down, shut up, and be thankful that I don't know.

Robert? ROBERT??? Don't make me have to come out there and hurt you! :ph34r:

I don't know how y'all go outside during the summer. And dig in the dirt. In the sun. And enjoy it. Crazy people. Can you tell I have a black thumb and keep in the 68 degree A/C all day? :huh:

Celia, way to think! Good job! :)

That sounds a lot like what my allergist told me. I asked how I was ok with my cats and my house, but if I stay anywhere else overnight my allergies go nuts. He said that the body is like a pool, and allergens slowly fill up that pool. For example: The cats fill it up some, and so does dust, grass, and trees. Add in something else, like mold or dogs, and the pool overflows, causing symptoms. Makes sense to me.

:lol:

I would like to add that in my opinion, what is more difficult then healing one's own body is healing one's own broken heart. I would like to commend Susan on her strength and her most wonderful humor thoughout her trials and tribulations.

Oh Cecile - - - my silly clack-clack friend...just had a love surge for you....how dear of you to say. *Sigh* we are ALL in recovery in some way, aren't we....a broken heart, combined with everything else, was REALLY tough this year! That crazy #*(@& :ph34r:

oh never mind. R is a really good man, with the tenderest heart....just a really BAD mate!! But, God had and has a plan for all of it. LIfe is SO much better without the poisins I - we all - long enjoyed...gluten, wine, and toxic boyfriends!! (or - name your poisin - DAIRY - OMG she can eat it again, fruit, filtered water, CELERY :lol: and all those other things in your science posts that boggle my addled mind) with a clear head, and recovering mental and physical health, don't you all worry, I"ll make a better choice next time and you won't have to hear me whinin' about it endlessly..... :rolleyes:

And BTW, I shouldn't say that I"ll never get scientific on you - - hold on for this - - because I am actually seriously researching what gluten does to to the mind and emotions of Celiac and others susceptible to it - terrible, dreadful stuff. so maybe later, if anyone's interested and I've got more SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION, I'll post on that! ;)

CISSIE - - don't bring your guns to town - - we will hurt him in another way...... :lol::lol::lol:

Holy tangents, Batman (we need Andrea!) I managed to take it completely off science once again.... :ph34r:

Back to the cool living room - - supposed to leave and I can't imagine getting in the car today - - - I'm calling in sick....

Reporting for juice bar duty anytime but I'll need a Rachelville visa, I'm way up in Canuckistan. :lol::lol::lol:

OMG....that's not a real place, is it? wasn't that a term coined by some political pundit? :ph34r: Is this Calgary??? Do fill me in.....help me not to be so dumb..... :ph34r:

Edit: totally unrelated topic, and I'm done hogging the board now, but it's 112 today with flash flood warnings in Fresno County.....this is not going to be pretty......

Another startling relevation from our esteemed President and Medical Sleuth-in-Pursuit-of-Truth!!! :o:o:o More clues to add to your ever-growing list.

However, and please forgive me for this, do you know why people say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."? To quote my beloved grandmother, Mama Lou, "It keeps your bowels working, child." In my opinion, Madame President, you ate enough fruit to make an elephant spinach! :)

Cissie

Don't they use apples to STOP d? How does that kepe them working? :blink:

Susan -- I hear you about the dog thing. We have a Chow and she is driving me NUTS!! It's 95 here. Also, Canukistan is slang for Canada. There are a few of us that slipped in here from what I can see. :P Which brings me to

Cecile -- I can pronounce your name as we have two languages up north, and I speak them both...plus German and some spanish. :ph34r:

If I'm not careful, I'll end up as the language prof at UCCF.

Rcahel -- Keep up the gardening. I just spent most of the afternoon pulling weeks and steaking up my sunflowers. A few of them were leaning over, and since they are almost 7' tall I don't want them to fall over.

Gotta run...need to wash the car before it rains....and yes I know how futile that sounds, but they are doing a tonne (canadian ton) of road work here and I have to get the tar off.

Talk to you all soon.

Evenin' Now I know that sitting on my heinie all day in front of the TV is a bad thing in R-ville. :ph34r: It took me a while to catch up, but here I am!

Neither does my son, who does have Asperger's. Where did that :blink: list come from?

(Edit: he does still have problems with eye contact and some social stuff, and he did have most of those problems at age 3, but with lots of work, help, and prayers, he has conquered them.)

(I'm not implying that anyone on this thread HAS Asperger's--I just think that maybe you are on to something that could extend to the Autistic community--what if histamine is part or more than part of the problem there, too?

My Daughter and I both have Asperger's. They said that a gluten free diet would help with the "spontaneous problems", but I haven't really seen a difference. My neightbor had 2 sons who were autistic and she said that there was a big difference with them. They were also "allergic" to other things, but I don't remember what.

to quote you,

OHHH GAAAAWDD and now I almost spinached myself..... :lol::lol::lol: or at least peed my pants...

:lol::lol::lol:

Isn't Morfin Voldemort's uncle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? Or was that his grandfather?

:lol::lol::rolleyes:

A couple of dingos might possibly die today.....driving me nuts when it's this hot....they want in, then out, then back in, then out again, then in and STARING at me, then out..... driving me @#*!!# bonkers today.....I'm gonna need an occaisonal dog sitter in R-ville - - - - :blink:

I built a doggie door in my back window. I got tired of letting them in and out so I got 2 boards and a peice of plywood and a doggie door. It works really well.

Pshew....Now I need a nap! :ph34r:

If I'm not careful, I'll end up as the language prof at UCCF.

:lol::lol::lol: I don't think the position's been filled, you're HIRED! :rolleyes:

Ohhh and like to add that NOW I am only on 2.5 mgs of Lexapro... and Xanax if needed...BUT, I haven't taken any of the Xanax lately... at times I've thought about it, expecially late at night and in pain... but what I do is get my frozen box of spinach and sit and read all the wonderful posts here.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You are killing me Cecile - - - but I am glad the spinach helps reduce the need for meds..... :lol::lol:

plus laughing with all of the goofy things we come up with here.....

:huh: Im lost... but I am running low on spoons cuase Im a freaking stupid idiot so thats prbly why... I'll just rejoin you in a few pages.... :huh:

I think you're lost because I took over for a few posts and we got totally off scientific and dietary issues :ph34r:

Ok Susan but before I go I would like to know what job I can have :D

Ok, Susan:

Here I am, but where did everyone else go? DO I have B.O.? What? :unsure:B):blink:<_<

Sally - - we still have many openings and the magical thing about R-ville is that, whatever you're good at is basically your job! It's perfect! And the only screening process is that you have to be Celiac, or at least gluten-intolerant!! yay! come on over! :)

:ph34r::blink::huh:B);):unsure::blink::huh:

where am I

You know when someone puts a link to a picture or a website in the text? Like if I said..this is what the door looked like here is where you can see it.. instead of putting it on the avatar.

Sort of Vincent except not a web page. Hmm I think I'm too tired to figure out what I'm trying to say. I'll just put it on the avatar. When I get a chance....
