No- I was distracted by my moderating duties Judy!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Kurt and i are getting wild over jambalaya- an exciting night in Beverly

I'm actually thinking that while I have no odd devices in my body i want to go horseback riding but with my luck I'd end up getting thrown and breaking something.

However, when this thread began 2 years ago- I went to the Topsfield fair and did this funky trampoline jumping-suspended by elastics-get up 30 feet in the air thing and then drank cosmos and the fair is here   :ph34r::o

Well, if you're sure you don't own any part of the company..... I was thinking since I emailed you-- and I think it was Paul Mitchel that I used a long time ago that had wheat starch. It may very well have changed since then, but it did state it clearly on the can. They also must have different formulas....

Mornin', All!

Was thinking about Landen last night. . . . ...how is he, Amanda?

Vital information you have left out: Male or female? What is his/her name?

Hee! Mark was supposed to go to a car show (yet another one... <_< ) today, but decided since there's another, bigger one next weekend and it's a long drive, he's staying home. So, since last weekend was a washout, we are getting plants to install near the pond :D

I'm very happy with this sudden turn of events :P

Yes, Julie--how did it go? Or hasn't it happened yet?

Enjoy yer Saturday, sillies!!

Hey Everyone-

Landen stayed with the old lady neighbor last night since her sitter had switched nights with us and canceled last minute...we were not home at the time. They also switched Jen's schedule so she must go into work at 3. so Landen will land at my house at 2--and I am viewing a home at 2:30. I might leave with the neighbor until I get back. Lately he has been very scared of men- well not John but others and he literally screams and is not esay to soothe. I am not sure I want to take him with us to the house. If I absouletly have to its cool. I already called my agent and said I am bringing a baby a long--not to look or talk to him until we are there a little bit. He was totally understanding.

Patti- where is the car show at next weekend? Maybe its around me somewhere.

It is very cold and we sprung for our heat last night.....the house got way too cold!

JNBunnie1 Community Regular

We're lucky, we're on the third floor and everything's new with lots of insulation, which kinda sucks in the summer, but is great in the winter. We just close our windows and doors and we're good usually til the end of November. I just had sunnyside eggs and cornbread for breakfast! Mmmm...

Hey, what's up with that mods only board? It's teasing me, I wanna read..... Think I'll get in trouble?

I'll speak to my brother but....doubt it will do any good. :(

Morning Sillies

Such a beautiful day here in Media PA

A really cool crisp Fall day.

Went out to breakfast at my 'safe' place and one friend couldn't make it but the old 3 did get to catch up. Isn't it wonderful that old dear friends can sit down and politics comes up and it's 2 against 1 but we all got such laughs. I told them how precious that was to me right now. Friendships that are so old go so deep across all issues except those memories the bind us...and unconditional love and respect.

oye, seems kinda 'mushy' but it was so pivital to me today

Patti.......glad for the change of events. Can't wait to hear what plants you got.

Know you'll have fun.

Amanda ......Good luck house hunting and hope the lady helps out with Landen so you can just go and enjoy this time with John. Hope you find that perfect home.

hi Susie Em Julie Bev and Bunnie and all the others out there is 'sillyville'

going to venture out to the garden i guess...........NEEDS SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH ATTENTION

Do to the stange weather we've had the leaves are still so green here but some coming down and hostas sure have seen better days. Guess i'll go and pull the dead leaves off those little devils.

Hope you all are having a great day

catch you later

Judith!! I'm so happy you had a good time this morning reconnecting wif old friends :D

Well, haven't gotten to the garden store yet.....we went and picked up wood pellets instead. <_< Mark's been afraid that since they're in such demand this year that we better get them now.....necessary but boring.

Still hoping to go this afternoon. :)

Poor Mojo.....I hope you can get through to yer brother, Suz.

Em said "abreast" :P

Egads Bevvy will picc problems never end??! :(

Goin' wild today?

I'm batedly (is that a word?) expecting the candidiasis bloodtest results today. With my luck lately I won't hear til who-knows-when ....

Oh jeez here's a development. I think I mentioned a few months ago that a buddy of mine, Tony, had a potential part-time job in the works for me.

Well, it's time.

The requisition was signed off Tuesday and I spent Wednesday - slow brain & all - 'whipping up' <use air quotes> a short resume & cover letter. Took hrs & hrs. (Gah I can feel so inept on some days) Wore me brain out.

Just heard from Tony & I might have an interview as soon as Monday & I have to pretend to be confident that I can physically do it, tho the physical demands aren't much & would be no more than 4hrs at a time.

Still .. ..I really don't know that I can do it but I'm damn sure I have to give it my best shot.

P.S. Have I ever mentioned that I've spent a decent amount of time in Wasilla AK?

@glucel,  There's a strong correlation between thiamine deficiency, hypoxia, and insomnia.  Thiamine is needed to help red blood cells carry oxygen.  In thiamine deficiency, hypoxia (lack of oxygen in tissues) occurs, and this can result in insomnia. Hypoxia causes systemic inflammation, increases inflammatory markers, and is associated with cardiovascular events.  Curiously, thiamine deficiency is correlated with excessive daytime sleepiness and oversleeping.   I found a combination of Tryptophan, Pyridoxine B 6, magnesium, and L-theanine works very well for inducing sleep.  Sometimes, I add Passion Flower Extract and/or Sweet Melissa.  There's no side effects the next morning with Passion Flower, it just induces sleepiness.  Sweet Melissa is groovy, and has anti-inflammatory effects on the digestive system.   I prefer to take 250 mg Benfotiamine and 100 mg Thiamine TTFD in the mornings and another dose of Benfotiamine at lunch.  I try not to take any thiamine after four p.m. because it keeps my brain so energized and wanting to think... Oh, I do take a combination of another form of thiamine (sulbutiamine), Pyridoxine and Cobalamine for a pain reliever sometimes, but I can sleep after taking that.  But thiamine does help regulate circadian rhythm.   Make sure you're getting Omega Three fats! They'll help you satisfy that late night carb craving with fewer carbs.  Flaxseed oil, olive oil, sunflower seed oil.  Nuts and nut butters, like walnuts and cashews, are good, too, if you can tolerate them.    Try taking the 100mg thiamine HCl before your aerobics and see if there's a difference.  Sweet dreams! Thanks to everybody for your help. I reread the dr's notes from the biopsy procedure and it seems I had worse than atrofied villi. It was termed flattened mucosa. So while iron ferratin levels are normal my bet is, as kitty alluded to, iron not getting into cells. I have dr appointment next mo but don't hold out a lot of hope, There is strong correlation of low red blood cells and insomnia so at least I finally solved that one after few yrs of being mislead. I intend to take stop taking 100 mg b1 at noon time and start 150 mg benfotiamin. I may or may not add the the 100 mg b1evening meal. BTW, last night had 1/3 lb beef. potato then 2 bowls cereal and an apple later in the eve. I generally do my areobics before supper so maybe that contributes to the hunger.

I have osteoporosis and have crushed three vertebrae.  I supplement with Lysine, Tryptophan, threonine, calcium, Boron, Vitamins D, A, and K, and the B vitamins (folate, B12, and Thiamine B1 especially for bone health).   I tried Fosomax, but it tore up my insides.  I prefer the supplements.  I feel better and my bones feel stronger.   References: A composite protein enriched with threonine, lysine, and tryptophan improves osteoporosis by modulating the composition and metabolism of the gut microbiota https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41915427/

@Aileen Cregan, I was put on high blood pressure medication, too. But I was able to correct my high blood pressure by supplementing with Thiamine Vitamin B 1.  I am no longer on high blood pressure medication.  I feel much better without the medication. I continue to supplement Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine.   The particular high blood pressure medication I took was Norvasc (amlodipine), which causes thiamine deficiency by blocking thiamine transporters so that thiamine cannot enter cells.  Benfotiamine can get into cells by merging with the cell membrane, thus bypassing nonfunctional thiamine transporters.   Indapamide also blocks thiamine transporters! The use of this type of medications that block thiamine precipitated Wernickes Encephalopathy.  My doctors did not recognize the connection to Thiamine deficiency.  I nearly died.   Talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing with Benfotiamine, a fat soluble form of thiamine that bypasses thiamine transporters.  Ask for an Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity Assay to check your thiamine levels asap.  Routine blood tests for thiamine are not an accurate measure of  thiamine in the body.   Absorption of essential vitamins like Thiamine is altered in Celiac Disease due to damaged villi, inflammation and dysbiosis.  The Gluten Free diet can be lacking in vitamins and minerals.  Discuss supplementing with all the eight B vitamins,  the four fat soluble vitamins and necessary minerals. Please keep us posted on your progress!
