Violin; I've been playing for about 15 years. I started when I was tiny :)

Fun. I bet you're really good! I play flute ... but just with the Church choir and the community band. I played from 5th grade through high school, then didn't touch it for 23 years! I started playing again a couple years ago. It's fun.

It always feels weird and so conceited saying this, but yeah, I am good :) At the moment I'm a bit rusty, I've been working on a Concerto by Saint-Saens but haven't been practicing as regularly as I should.

My mum plays flute, she gets it out once a year because this local choir always asks her to help w/their christmas concert. The rest of the year she doesn't touch it (she's also a fabulous pianist, nice to have a "built in" accompanist ;))

Anyways, I'm off to go pick up my brother from school (my real brother, he's 5yo and also adorable :D)

Humility is having a good understanding of both what you're good at and what you're bad at. It would be false humility if you acted as if you were bad, but you were really good. It's true humility that you recognize you are good, but are modest enough to be shy about saying it. :)

I'm sure your bit rusty is still pretty darn good!! ;)

Do the happy-fridge-is-coming-this-A.M-dance!

I can't wait to get this fridge in may house! It's like a monsoon here right now, and the guy is supposed to brin gthe fridge "around 10" It has to come up about 15 steps before it gets inside, so I'm not exactly thrilled with the weather :(

Olivia was sick to her stomach last night, so none of us got too much sleep. Unfortunately I need to be at a "study abroad fair" that I helped organize, so no staying home to catch up -_-

I missed most of LOST last night too :(

Why do I have the feeling that the fridge isn't going to fit in the front door without cutting it in half?

Time to light the incense and dance around the Barbies (not recommended at work, but these are desperate times)

CarlaB Enthusiast

It'll fit. They have to be able to get those refrigerators in standard size doors, right?

I hope your wife likes it, too.

This I really want to see! Good luck with the new fridge. It looks like the one we have and we LOVE IT!

Richard--The fridge will fit thru the door--ours is just like the one in your picture. Looking at it, it does look too big, but it fits. ;)

I'm sure it will fit...I just don't deal well with the aggrevation this sort of stuff brings...Like when I ordered the darn thing. It should have taken 20 minutes, but ended up almost 2 hrs...I'm sure I'll have a story later on :)

I know you will :D

Maybe Fabio will deliver the fridge... :P

Now that i typed that i realized the drivers name was Steven, he called to confirm everything last night. You don't think it could be Steven Segal? Steven Baldwin? Steve Buschemi?

The Fridge is in and chillin'!

Some random Steve delivered it- without incident :)

It is BIG, and my kitchen is small. It sticks out obout 6" in front of the counter, so it's like you have to walk around the fridge to get anywhere (galley kitchen). I'm sure I'll get used to it, I can't wait for the missus' first impressions when I get home. (hopefully her first impression won't be made on my forehead via freezer door :P )

 It seems big, because you're not used to it yet. Give it a week, you won't even notice anymore. :P

All this talk of Steve(s) got me thinking- poll time, who's your favorite Steve. Then I realized gfp would win in a landslide, so...

Who's your favorite Barry?

(feel free to submit your vote with a convincing picture)

My top 5 (in no particular order):

Barry White http://www.comicgenius.com/DiscoFever/imag...arry_white1.webp (the best of the Barrys)

Barry Manilow http://www.erikgrow.com/Birth/Images/manilow.webp (still looking for his "good" side)

Barry Williams http://www.weht.net/pics/barry.webp (rapping...the real Greg Brady...)

Barry Bonds http://www.funnyhub.com/pictures/img/barry-bonds-in-drag.webp (speaks for itself)

Barry Pepper http://www.creamystar.com/actor/barry_pepp...y_pepper_01.webp (a.k.a. uber-Barry my favorite of the acting Barrys - loved him in Saving Private Ryan)

jerseyangel Proficient

Where do you come up with this stuff???

I would have to say my favorite is a tie between Barry White and Barry Manilow--depending what mood I'm in B) .

I know, of all the Barrys, why did he have to be the first to go?

Lou Rawls, now there is another voice...You'll never find...another love like mine...

Is he still with us?

now there is a fun game! (Dead or Alive?)

Abe Vigoda? (never really sure, even when he was still on tv!) :P

Thanks for the update, Ben. If you will be having an endoscopy/biopsy to confirm the results of the blood testing - and this would be the normal protocol - you will still need to continue the gluten challenge until that is done.
    • Ben Cohen
Update on how things went. To meet my daily quantity of gluten I had a measured amount of gluten flour with my breakfast and 2 slices of bread later in the day. I still had discomfort but it wasn't debilitating. My blood tests results came back this week and they were positive so I've been referred to a specialist.

Hello, Ive been to the dermatologist ( two different ones) and now made appointment, soonest is NOVEMBER. Ive been dealing  with skin issues for a while and its getting  worse because nothing has worked.I feel the bumps, gently squeeze and a itty bitty hard thing is coming out.I took a picture and did close up and in the MANY pictures ive taken this past few days, there's a " string" type thing at the end. I FEEL IT COMING OUT.... At first few pic it looks like hair, its not. Its  part of what ever is in my skin...I did call my Dr yesterday and will be seeing him this Monday. What test should I request to see what the hell is causing my skin to have?I don't know what to call it.I do sleep with my indoor cats.I also have an inheritance cat two years ago who took to sleeping with me as well.I also was on topiramate but had to stop because of speech issues, memory and it can affect those with  kidney stones. I did suffer kidney stones in past.So i had to completely stop.Since freaking out of what i KNOW what I saw, i took matters in my own hands and decided to eat several whole cloves a day.Since doing so, though im not to eat garlic. My skin is actually clearing up sloooooooooowly.but then again I just started 4 days ago and already notice a difference. My husband thinks im seeing things.I know what I see and feel. what test is there to ask doctor about what is in my skin? Husband thinks im seeing things, because of the meningioma and stopping meds.i know what i saw.

Vitamin A is important for vision health. But be careful in supplementing it as it can lead to toxicity. Research it and consult with your medical professional. I do not have a definite answer to your original question but I was pursuing the possible cause of nutritional deficiency. But your visual deterioration could be unrelated to your celiac disease so don't rule that out.
    • Name
Currently 19. Doctors think I was 1 year old when celiac started, but I wasn't diagnosed until 18, because they didn't do lab work on minors. I've been on a strict gluten-free diet for 14 months now. For example only certified gluten-free nuts and I've researched best brands a lot. I take B vitamins, vitamin D, vitamin C, Curcumin with black pepper, black sesame and green tea extract, magnesium, iron, and a little selenium and zinc, beef liver capsules. I recently had my vitamin and mineral levels retested and D is the only one I don't have enough of now. I had my eyes tested at 17 and they were good back then.
