  1. The event will be in the Celiac.com forum Chat room. This week we plan to talk about setting up a rotational diet. We can also talk about other topics we wish to discuss or urgent matters for the persons that come. To get there. Go...
  2. I use a full can and 10 frozen berries, but I save some for later. Oh, and frozen fruit makes it like a shake. I say, add whatever sounds good to you. A forth of banana may sweeten if you need it.
  3. 1 can coconut milk 10 strawberries 1 Tbsp raw honey blend for a smoothie, This gives a pleasantly full feeling to me. Omit the honey if you can!
  4. When I was 19 I fell ill with mononucleosis. From than on I carried what seemed like 100 lbs of fatigue on my back. I tried many natural ways to relieve and energize me. You see that I tried to take care of a large family. Yet, sometimes it seemed that it took more energy to make a meal than I got out of the meal. I felt tired, but the doctor said, "Of coarse...
  5. Well, I found that tummy again after eating squash, evidently my body has something against that!
  6. It sounds like you will be able to test it much later when you feel like rocking the boat. Trouble is, if you are like me, you never want to rock the boat!
  7. I recently started on glutamine to help to heal my leaky gut. I had been experiencing general inflammation and that is what the doctor said to do. Love it when my body gets dramatic. But, my tummy is now shrinking so fast that I don't know how to stand right. I stick out my tummy in order so that it will look "normal" to me, but I give myself a back ache...
  8. I say that I am back from Nowhere. Actually I existed right here. I stayed mostly in a house. Everyday I woke up in the morning and felt as exhausted as when I lay down the night before. Throughout the day I dragged my feet and used my cloudy mind to think of ways to make life seem easy again. I placed my refrigerator on cement blocks. I could reach the lower...
  9. Great Happy Cycling! Just watch out for ice. Or don't you live in the bullseye of the current snow storm as I do?
  10. For now, I don't think I could. I get sick if I sit in a restaurant. I can't eat gluten or corn or eat in a kitchen that uses them. I also have many other intolerances, so what can a restaurant do for me? Give me a socket out back to plug my skillet in?
  11. Some people test negative to the blood tests but have a positive endoscopy. I would suggest you look at the Newbie thread incase you may be missing gluten which causes your symptoms. You should be healed after so long on the diet which means that your endoscopy may be negative if you are not getting enough gluten. You might try moving this to the coping...
  12. For decades I kept improving my diet in the hope that the energy and alertness I craved would come and stay. In my desperate way I cut junk food, baked my own 100% whole grain natural bread, and even moved to a farm. Lately, I have been thinking about the desperate way I controlled my diet, while I left exercise to chance. By chance I got quite a lot...
  13. Yeah, if I didn't feel so good, I would feel these depressing thoughts, and sometimes I do.
  14. Hang on for the ride! so glad that you have help. That is great if you can absorb things better, and hopefully it will change everything. Keep watching it and you may need help with the meds. For now it may be good to read up on signs of overdose or side effects.
  15. When I have the blues like that, the best thing I can think of that I do is take inventory. I think back to how I felt when I have started. I remember aching feet, foggy fatigue and think about what I haven't lost. I have already come a long way. I consider that now I know the cause and how to prevent trouble. I look at my eyes clarity in the mirror...
  16. Yes, this sounds just like the utter hopelessness that I go through. The way is sometimes long and hard. But it is often followed shortly by higher highs.
  17. I can relate. My mother is in a similar state as yours. I do feel hopeless when I am in a low. I hope the highs will be along again soon. Mine usually do. Write anytime. D
  18. I am happy to hear about Mom's consideration of your e-mails. It really is a hard thing for everyone. There will be bumps and twists. Keep going. You are now a detective and need to keep trying to figure out the things that bother you. It will help to keep records and analyze as you are doing. Also keep track of foods that help you feel better. ...
  19. I used to fall asleep between words on a spelling test! At least not too dangerous as driving. Perhaps you already did, but if you post this on the section about pre-diagnosis you will likely get more response. I hope you will get to the root of the problem as frequent nausea isn't "Normal". There are many symptoms of celiac and those who don't...
  20. If you post your question in the forum about traveling, more people may see it. I haven't ever been to China or Japan. D
  21. Best wishes in all your efforts! Have your tried making muffins with almond flour? Even my family like them. D
  22. I am not a volunteer to my current position of transitioning from a life of relishing gluten to lady that shrinks back when gluten is near. When the teacher mentioned "health" or an internal organ in elementary school, I felt weak! Sometimes, I would get dizzy and the field of vision turned black! Once a nurse came to school to take our pulses. The teacher...
  23. No, you cannot eat gluten if you have celiac disease. It is a life long thing to avoid gluten. It is well this way anyway, because you can be healthy!
  24. I hope you are not feeling overwhelmed. It sounds like you are making your way. You are doing just what you should be for your children. The doctors sound like they are not very helpful. It takes a while to learn the diet and to heal from celiac. All the best to you. D
