Hope For A Less Challenging Gluten Challenge
1desperateladysaved commented on jebby's blog entry in The Patient Celiac
You asked if I was diagnosed after a challenge. No, because I could not submit to eating gluten for any amount of time. My best proof of having celiac is my genetic test which showed 4/4 gene copies for celiac! Anyone else? -
I use to close my self in a relatively safe room with the little ones and have a nap. Younger ones went down for a nap in their crib every afternoon. All of my children survived and they learned many things they wouldn't have otherwise. It is hard, but so are most jobs. Hang in there.

Foot Pain, Anyone?
1desperateladysaved replied to Melissaann829's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My feet aching and plantar faschitis got a little worse initially when I went gluten free. Both feet had plantar fas$#&is pain which had never happened before. However, after that the pain began to rapidly diminish and went away forever since. -
Clash With The Doctors On My Colonoscopy Prep
1desperateladysaved posted a blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
I am normally a very shy person just wanting to blend in and willingly do what I am asked. However, when doctors told me that I needed to drink high fructose corn syrup, corn in my medications, and plastic (Mira lax) they had overstepped their power and I felt threatened. I swell up if I smell corn, so I knew I couldn't eat it. They dismissed my concern about...- 1 comment

Quite possibly I suffered from celiac all of my life. I say 30+ years since I am older than that and can recall bloating and fatigue beginning undeniably at age 19 after a bout with mono-nucleosis. I have been working with my physicians to relieve my symptoms naturally and attempting to get to the roots of problems and solve them since realizing I had a gluten...

I would say, "Sweet dreams," but am thinking that I hope that you will get helpful information from it instead. -
Low Ferritin
1desperateladysaved replied to veryami1's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I did take Ferritin. My levels had been low( even though I was supplementing) before going gluten free. I believe that the gluten free diet and digestive enzymes were a key for me to get them. When the ferritin level came up, I could breath better. A pressure I felt in my head went away. Dee -
Bumps In The Road: Food Intolerances
1desperateladysaved commented on 1desperateladysaved's blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
Oddly enough (in spite of not tolerating many foods) I can eat eggs and strawberries! These are great gifts for me. -
I have many doctors involved with my care both conventional and natural. Conventional doctors offer only "that is a great mystery." Whereas Functional Medicine can get to the roots of things and solve them. I would be peri-menoupause to be clearer. The average age for menopause is 51 and I am 51.. That is what I meant by at the age. If one's...

My Older daughter wouldn't try my homemade gluten free buns. One day, I coached my 9 year-old-daughter through making them. When the older daughter heard that her younger sister made them, she knew she had to try them and be a good sport besides. From that day on my older daughter ate the gluten free items and liked them.

I am dealing with heavy periods, but this started before diagnosis. I am at the time for menopause in my life. I have had infertility 17 years. I was diagnosed with celiac 2 years back. My doctors have recently discovered I have an ovarian cyst and uterine fibroid. I believe my functional medicine nurse attributes these to too much estrogen. I have...

Congratulations and have fun! I have an extra size 2 soccer ball if you need it! Dee -
One year later: Back to those foods I didn't have antibodies to again. I am really feeling better again. It is so strange, I didn't have my fatigue and mind fog, but other symptoms like inflammation just seemed to increase. I am thankful for the help I have from a functional medicine nurse. She sometimes admits she was wrong! BUT I am recovering after...

This diet list, or a similar one helped my bladder issues. Unfortuneatly, I did not know to also cut gluten. I still have issues with my bladder on occasion around my period. This is a list I found on the internet. Sorry I lost the link. I saw another site that mentioned gluten, but lost it when I needed to leave google. 1: Cranberry Juices &...

Bumps In The Road: Food Intolerances
1desperateladysaved commented on 1desperateladysaved's blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
I am struggling with food prep. How many times lately have I had the family sit down to eat, before realizing that I forgot to prepare my meat or vegetable! Oops. -
Bumps In The Road: Food Intolerances

My current plan to eat no foods that I had antibodies to is still going well. I haven't been sick. My swelling is going down. -
Bumps In The Road: Food Intolerances
1desperateladysaved posted a blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
About 1 1/2 years ago I did a food antibody test to see if I could find some safe foods for me to use and any I should not use. The tests searched for Igg and IgA antibodies made by the body to combat foods that it evidently thinks are invading it. The tests showed me several surprises: Buckwheat threatened my body the hardest! (I was already off gluten... -
We heavily discussed my having celiac, special diet in an appointment I had with a medical caregiver. I was sent home with a printout that said to consume whole wheat for to make my health good. One more thing. I asked they not use KY jelly. Whether it was unpurpose or inadvertant, I can't say. However, lets just say that something tells me that they...

I actually think that even feeling worse is a good reaction. I think it is because your body is actually working on healing. I know it isn't comfortable, but many times I found my highest highs shortly followed after my lowest lows. After a real long time traveling the opposite way, you have traveled one month in the right direction! I am sure you...
