  1. I'm so glad you are feeling better!!
  2. I'm so glad you are feeling better. If you try it again, let us know. You are braver than I am. I've had bad reactions to medications before and am terrified of having them.
  3. Hi Sueps, I'm sorry that you are still feeling bad 5 years on! That has to be frustrating. We were diagnosed close to the same time, my diagnosis was in January of 2014. I think that there should be such a thing as an autoimmunologist who is a specialist of all autoimmiune diseases since they seem to run together. I see an endocrinologist for...
  4. Hi there, I'm so sorry that you are feeling so poorly. ((((Hugs)))) Have you been tested for the MTHFR gene mutation? My understanding of it is that those who have the mutation can't process folic acid or folate correctly and that could cause all kinds of issues. Just a thought and I could be way off. I hope you feel much better tomorrow...
  5. My husband's company has a Christmas party every year that he is expected to go to. They have no clue about gluten free or what that means in any way. I eat dinner before we go and have a cup of coffee there while everyone else eats. It's not that much fun watching people eat, but at least I'm not hungry and I won't get sick. My kids love to go because...
  6. Congratulations! You're doing great! My results were similar, at 6 months they had come down a lot, a year later they were all normal. It looks like you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work!
  7. I use McCormicks and have no issues with them.
  8. Cool! Let me know how it works for you!?
  9. Hi mbrookes! I make my own using this recipe from King Arthur flour. It turns out great and my family loves it. I double the recipe to make 2 large pizzas because I have 3 kids including 2 teen boys and there is never any left. Open Original Shared Link
  10. You poor thing! I have had that happen too! It's ok. I now only eat at dedicated gluten free places as I have been glutened while eating out. Both of the places where I was glutened are supposed to be very knowledgeable about gluten free. When I am glutened it is terrible. With 3 kids to take care of I can't afford to be sick like that. So now I...
  11. Hi Mvh9! I'm so sorry that you are suffering like this! ((((Hugs)))) Definitely get that GI appointment scheduled sooner rather than later. Ask for a repeat celiac panel. You should get one yearly. My GI doc does that along with CBC, Metabolic Panel, Iron and Ferritin and Vitamin D and B12 yearly. It would be a good idea for you to have all...
  12. Congratulations! That is such great news! I'm sure that you feel great getting that result and knowing your hard work has paid off. ?
  13. Oh my goodness! Definitely a croissant! Also, go out to eat anywhere and order anything without asking questions. I miss that the most...
  14. I haven't, but they looked really good online.
  15. They have, yes. I love Canon's bagels so much! If you order by the case it's a much better price than the store. That's what we do. My store sells them for $7 For a 4 pack. But I can get a case of 24 online for $28.50 and sometimes can find a coupon code to save more. I love them toasted with sunbutter and I use them to make pizza bagels for my...
  16. Hi hrking, I think mine was due to gluten. I had it for months leading up to my diagnosis and for a few months after. I'm pretty sure it was inflammation. I have gotten it again when I've been glutened, but overall being gluten free has put an end to it. Hope that helps!
  17. Hi Jhern, I use McCormick for everything and have had no issues. This includes Montreal Steak which is a combination of spices. Hope that helps!
  18. Hi George! I'm so glad that you kept advocating for yourself and that you have an answer! I hope that you start to feel better really soon! Please keep us posted. ?
  19. Hi Pavlov and welcome! Hormonal changes like that are not fun at all! Have you had your thyroid fully checked recently? The thyroid is the master hormone of your body, if it's not working optimally, things will suffer. A full thyroid blood panel would include TSH, Free T4, Free T3, TPOAB and TgAb. The last 2 are antibody tests. Most people seem...
  20. Yes! Call University of Chicago! Switching you from one medication that's not working to another and back again isn't helping you. It's definitely time to look at something else. I'm so sorry that you're not feeling better.
  21. I agree with everything cyclinglady has suggested! Having diarrhea every day is sheer misery. I hope that he doesn't make you wait 6 weeks. If these medications aren't helping, go back in and see if he's willing to schedule it earlier or do other testing....I'm not sure what. I really do feel for you. Leading up to my celiac diagnosis I had D 10-20 times...
  22. Hi George! It is an old topic, but it's mine so I figured I'd chime in. If nothing showed on CT or MRI, I'm not sure. I do get this when I'm glutened and it's very uncomfortable. How long has it been since you had a complete celiac panel done? If it isn't very recent, I think it's time for one. Particularly with such severe D. Did you make...
  23. I second this. I do react to oats...I so wish I didn't as I miss oatmeal. Definitely try cutting those to see if there's an improvement. Keep in mind that in terms of healing your intestine, 6 weeks is not a long time. You need a lot of patience with celiac...so much more than you anticipate at diagnosis.
  24. Hi Ravenu5! I feel your frustration! I have Hashis. After being diagnosed with celiac and continuing issues I ended up gluten, soy and dairy free. That led to my having kidney stones earlier this year and switching to a gluten free, soy free, low oxalate, adequate calcium diet...this led to high cholesterol. I'm super frustrated and annoyed. I broke...
  25. Thank you so much for letting us know. ((((((Hugs)))))) Alison has been on my mind a lot lately. It's amazing how much you can miss someone you've never met...but she was an exceptional person who had a positive impact on everyone. She was kind and wise...I'll always miss her presence. I am thankful that she is no longer in pain and that she...
