My Clan Thompson list only has a few specific kinds of Orville Redenbacher. I just had some Smart Pop (the butter kind, not the kettle corn) but the butter kind isn't on the CT list. It says no wheat but it also has the dreaded "natural flavors". I'm wondering...

Microwave popcorn has extra crap in it that your body just doesn't need. I'd encourage an airpopper and plain popcorn (add whatever you like - brown sugar is good :-) ). You actually can even pop regular popcorn in the microwave by putting 1/4 cup in a brown paper lunch bag, stapling it with two small staples at least three inches apart, and microwaving until the majority of the frequent popping has stopped (depends on the power of your microwave - I'm around 2:25). (Yes, this is totally safe - the staples are too small and too far apart to be able to conduct electricity generated by the microwaves.) This allows you to avoid the phalates added to the coating of the microwave popcorn bag - actually a major source of phalates in a standard diet.

Orville Redenbacher is a ConAgra brand. They will not hide gluten--it will be clearly disclosed if present.

Don't know of any popcorn that has gluten. But airpopped is indeed much better for you.

Thank you for this post I will definitely try it as I've been wanting air popped popcorn for awhile now.

I haven't found any popcorn with gluten. However, I don't buy the " flavors" so I don't know. Just read the labels.

Q: I am concerned about food allergies. How can I find out what is contained in Pop Secret?
A: The ingredient listings on all our packages are complete and accurate. The package should be read carefully if there is any question of possible allergic reaction. For dairy/milk, our products have the universal “D” symbol on the package to indicate the product contains dairy ingredients. For gluten/soy, all popcorn is free of glutens from wheat, rye, oats and barley. However, all of our products do contain corn gluten (modified corn starch). Our microwave flavor providers have also assured us that our flavorings are gluten-free as well. For peanuts/tree nuts, Pop Secret popcorn is produced and packaged at a facility that is free from tree nuts and peanuts.

Have you tried Skinny Pop? It comes popped in the bag, but is pretty good. You can find it online pretty easily.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?
    • Aussienae
I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
    • trents
"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.
    • trents
What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
