Possible Celiacs?
Scott Adams replied to cb1988's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sort of, but maybe not a contradiction…so what I mean is that some people with gluten sensitivity may have elevated antibodies, but they are still below the cut off for celiac disease, and they may also not have flattened villi. They are in the grey area where they are have a reaction to gluten, but just not one that fits the definition of celiac disease. ... -
Am i Celiac?
Scott Adams replied to Jbg123123's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It definitely sounds to me like most if not all of your symptoms could be related to undiagnosed celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. That said you need to keep eating gluten until you get a blood panel done and possibly until you get a follow up biopsy after that. Unfortunately there is currently no test for gluten sensitivity, So you may want to consider... -

Even with low IgA blood test results can still be accurate, but only IF they follow the protocol in this article: -

Still feeling symptoms
Scott Adams replied to BrianG's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So if you have celiac disease and only recently went gluten-free the lingering symptom can be caused by the prolonged nutrient deficiencies that you've likely experienced, and it can take months to years to fully recover (we ran an article years ago on a study that found that the average time to recovery was 2 years). Hopefully you won't be moving around too much on trains, buses, etc. If this were the case it seems like it would be a difficult trip having to lug them around. Will you be taking camping/backpacking versions, or regular ones? -

Is there any way I don’t have Celiacs?
Scott Adams replied to Joshmitchell's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The fact that you mother has celiac disease means you have a ~44% chance of also having it, and if you have a high DGP result on top of this it's almost certain that you also have it, especially given your symptoms. You would need to be back on gluten for ~8 weeks, and eat a couple of sliced of wheat bread per day before getting blood tests. -
Feel free to share your two blood test results with us, including the high mark levels for celiac disease, but if you have two positive ttg tests it could definitely mean celiac disease, regardless of the biopsy results. At the very least you should consider your results to mean non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) for which there is currently no test available...

Antibody Food Test question?
Scott Adams replied to DemonKnight's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, they definitely showed me things that I apparently react highly to that I had no idea affected me, as well as some things that I already knew I had issues with. -
So it looks like you're not IgA deficient (I believe it was 220 from what you posted), and your Anti-Gliadin IgA was positive. According to this article: "A sensitive testing protocol includes testing for both IgA and IgG anti-gliadin antibodies since a significant portion of celiac patients (approx. 2-5%) are IgA deficient. This combined IgA and IgG anti...

Can you share your high blood test result along with the cut off level for celiac disease? If you have even one positive blood test for celiac disease, then you could still have it, or gluten sensitivity for which they currently can't screen, even though your gut isn't damaged (that could still happen later). For your genetic test, are you saying...
