About Me
Let's see--
I have been a legal secretary for the last 20+ years. For the last 15 of those years, I have worked for the same firm in Downtown Seattle. I guess I could say that my work life is pretty good--while it might not always be stimulating, it's very stable anyway (knock on wood), and I can appreciate that.
I have the heart of a farmer--I love to garden. I currently am growing a variety of veggies in my front and back yard--I have sugar pumpkins, snow peas and tomatoes growing in the front yard amongst blueberry bushes, roses and many more plants and trees. In the back I have corn, green beans, zuchinni, jack o lanterns, cabbage, brussels sprouts and more--I am novice really at growing veggies, but I am learning more each year and plan to grow much of my own veggies as long as I have a yard/am alive. I am, however, running out of land!
As a side gig in the summer I do wedding cakes with my Mom and my sister. I have been doing this for the last 6 years or so (I've lost track). It can be rewarding (the end product) but it can also be scary and nerve-wracking--setting them up that is, because we bring the cake unstacked and then we stack it and finish borders and decorations on site--cakes are slippery, we are talking butter here--cakes and icing in the summer is a tough mix. At times in the past I used to snack on pieces of cake, but no more! It will be an interesting quest to find a cake that tastes as good. But, I have eaten a lot of cake in my lifetime, so it's not like I never had a chance to know what is tastes like, so I won't let myself feel sorry for myself about it.
Ok - I will finish this later...... Did I say I like to procrastinate? ;-)
