About Me

Undiagnosed until later in life. Given the "hypochondriac treatment" for most of my life...my poor mom never knew what was wrong with me. Just super lucky that this never became an immediate and horrible threat except for once (9 mos of crippling IBS, no docs or eastern practitioners could figure it out. I was told to "heat up some salt and place it in my bellybutton". No kidding).


Strangely, even without knowing I had Celiac, I always somehow veered towards foods that helped put me on the mend. There was a long period where the ONLY things in my kitchen were Coco Crispies, soymilk and vegetarian vegetable soup. I literally didn't want anything else, and after basically subsisting mysteriously on this for about 1 year, I went into one of the most amazing times of my life! Felt completely happy, not depressed, alive, like I had never felt before.


Super tempted (13 yrs later, post diagnosis) to eat this same diet....but it wouldn't be a very good example for my child. ha.
