Rebecca Black is one of the leading health and fitness experts in central Ohio and built a brand appealing to all demographics aspiring to lead a healthy lifestyle by using fun and customized approaches to health and fitness. Every week she motivates the thousands of followers she gathered on her personal blog, Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites, as well as at her fitness studio, Bexa Body Fitness. Bexa Body Fitness is a premier fitness studio located in Westerville, Ohio offering group fitness, boot camp and personal training. Rebecca is looking to expand the Bexa brand by opening Bexa Body Yoga in the fall of 2012.
As a motivator and role model, Rebecca has a unique connection with her audience that stems from her own personal journey toward wellness. Before becoming a fitness expert, Rebecca struggled with her own weight and self-esteem. She was determined to reach her goals — and through dedication and hard work, she did.
It was through this journey that she was diagnosed with celiac disease in January 2012. This disheartening diagnosis was another wrench in her total lifestyle and body transformation. After struggling with weight and health issues again in 2011, it took an emergency room visit at Christmas to finally force her to seek a specialist on celiac and gluten intolerance. Thorough blood worked showed Rebecca's celiac diagnosis along with numerous vitamin deficiencies and Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.
Rebecca has been a fitness expert and wellness coach for 4 years, but her lifelong struggle with weight, fitness and health spans decades. In addition, Rebecca has been national fitness competitor for the past 3 years. She competed at the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival, 2011 Fitness Bikini Universe and various NPC sponsored events since 2009. Rebecca is an accredited Certified Personal Trainer from the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) and a Certified Group Fitness Instructor from the American Council on Exercise (ACE). On top of that, Rebecca has advanced training in Zumba, TRX and Piloxing. Rebecca earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Masters in Non-Profit Management from Regis University.
TV, Magazines, newspapers, radio — Rebecca has them all covered. Rebecca made various TV appearances touting her fitness expertise, including NBC4 Daytime Columbus with Gail Hogan, Good Day Columbus Fox 28, WBNS 10TV morning news and as a fitness consultant to We Decorate Columbus. Rebecca was interviewed as the featured expert Oxygen Magazine, WellBella.com, Weight Watchers, Self.com and 11Athletics, which has continued to broaden her brand in Columbus and across the country. Rebecca has been a featured fitness contributor to online newspapers The Examiner and was World Physique Magazine's "Rising Star" in their April 2011 issue.
Starting in the November/December edition of 11Athletics magazine, Rebecca will have her own fitness/health related column.
Rebecca was also involved in a Facebook mix-up giving her national exposure. It was the featured story on national and local TV and media including TMZ.com, The Columbus Dispatch, The Other Paper, WNCI Dave and Jimmy's Morning Show (also as re-occurring guest personality) and dozens of radio and TV outlets.
Rebecca opened the doors to Bexa Body Fitness in February 2012, which culminated her vision of creating a fitness studio that was personal and customized training studio that offered premium services to all fitness levels. The Bexa Body Fitness motto is "Strong Mind, Strong Body". Rebecca is also a member of the Westerville Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Business Women (NAWBO), DamesBond and the National Association of Professional Women. In March 2012, Rebecca was featured as an inspiring story on the Female Entrepreneur Association's website.
Additionally, Rebecca strength trains the Westerville Central High School girl's basketball team and her husband is one of the 2012 assistant coaches.
Rebecca lives in Columbus, Ohio. When she's not training clients or writing her blog, she enjoys traveling and getting involved in charitable activities, which include her work as volunteer and fund raiser for Dress For Success Columbus, The Pancreatic Cancer Society, 4L for Latinas and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus. She is also in the process of helping The Children's Body Image Foundation of Columbus reinvent themselves by joining the Board of Directors for the 2013 year.
