Back To Ground Zero

I got so sick this past week. The sickest I've been in a long time and I'm not really sure what happened. We were in NYC and my first night there we went to a place called Candle 79- they have a vegan menu and a gluten free menu. I ate like a princess! I had cucumber watermelon soup with cayenne pepper- sounds weird but so good. I had a bean and corn cake with a chipotle aoili for dinner followed by an ice cream sampler which included lavender blueberry ice cream- WOW! I am a fairly adventurous

I Had Beer! (gluten Free Of Course!

Oh heaven, heaven, heaven! I've been gluten free since January 15, 2005 (over 6 months!) and this weekend I had beer for the first time in over a year. I had stopped drinking beer last summer because every time I had it, I would have two and feel hungover for the equivalent amount of days. At this point, I had no idea that I had Celiac's. I just knew that beer made me very, very ill. This weekend my husband Kurt and I went to Vermont and lo and behold- we walked into the gheneral store in Woodst

Getting Started

Well- this is my first entry. I'm actually a journal keeper and a writer so this should come fairly naturally to me although I've never gotten into this whole blogging thing. I was just "diagnosed" with Celiac's back in January (2005) but we'll get into that later. I've got quite a story to tell and I hope that, if nothing else, it makes one more person out there aware of Celiac's. But, all things in good time.By the way, as a starter, my blog's subtitle "Blog of a sick chick" IS supposed to be
