  1. I just returned from my first cruise! I always wanted to try cruising, but since being diagnosed with celiac disease, was leery of what my dining options would be. We went with Norwegian Cruise Line and I had the best experience! The chefs on board got to know me and came out with freshly toasted gluten-free bread when I sat down to eat! I never ate at the buffet, although our kids loved it. I did bring a loaf of Udi's bread with me as well as peanut butter and jelly to make sandwiches for my lunch when we were docked at the Bahamas. NCL also suggest letting them know ahead of time what your dietary requirements were. I emailed, but ended up calling. It didn't seem to be an issue with them at all and the waiter told me that they had someone else who needed a gluten-free diet on the previous cruise. I am also happy to say I did not get sick and we cannot wait for our next cruise!
  2. I also have Celiac disease and had constant problems with my lips breaking out and being sore! 2 days after eliminating gluten, no more issues with my lips! I researched some of the companies and use only Bare Ecentuals and Burt's Bees products. Both are gluten free! Good Luck!
  3. I watched a very informative show on UCTV the other night about Celiac disease that may help you and anyone else with questions. Two physicians and a nutrionist spoke for a total of 86 minutes and it was excellent! Here is the link. washttp://www.uctv.tv/search-details.asp?showID=13429. Good luck!
  4. I have been eating and enjoying the oats for about 2 weeks now! I love them and have not been sick. Ingrid
  5. Thanx for your reply, Franceen! I am a newbie, so am still figuring it all out. This blog is great!
  6. Hi Everyone! Does anyone know if store brand ketchup has gluten in it? I used Giant brand catsup and got sick 2 nights in a row! The ingredient that I am suspicious of is "natural flavors" I did read somewhere that Heinz brand is gluten-free, so I will be buying that brand from now on! Thanks!
