  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Good info! thanks for letting us all know
  3. Awesome Article!

haha, it is very wordy huh! Did you read the rest of his site? He has a wonderful mass of info there, it's amazing!
  4. I'm glad to help! I get heartburn that goes up into my mouth sometimes and makes my voice 'feel' rhaspy, but people say it doesn't sound it. I aldo get intense pressure right above the X-something(that bone at the end of your sternum) and a burning pain. I then also get this weird sideache pain on my left side that feels up under my ribs. yuck! They found out I had gastroparesis after finding food in my stomach on my last biop. Then they did thing with a huge gigercounter. I hear that it can go away perminetly as long as you address the issue and cause, not the symptoms. So I hope you and I get better!
  5. Took My Daughter To The Dr. Today

Go to a new doctor pronto!!! That is unacceptable for him to be treating you that way!
  6. Took My Daughter To The Dr. Today

I don't see why your doctor is making you do this so he can diagnose your daughter. that just seems backwards! Can he not give her an endoscopy!? Basiclly... he wants to make you sicker and make her wait to get better! I would tell your doctor to test her anyways! He can at least test her blood. Get a doctor that will listen, or bluntly state that you want your daughter tested. I have had... lets see... 4 different doctors question my diagnosis. One thought celiac was in the colon near the rectum. He got mad at me when I told him he was mistaken, and basicly said I didn't know more about it than he did!!! And the others questioned it because they were 'old school' and would only accept a biopsie too, even though I had three blood tests that were all VERY positive.
  7. hello betty, I have tried many PPI's too, and they either did nothing, or made my heartburn worse! I have recently---like last week, discoverd I have been having intolernaces to other food as well as gluten . I have been researching up a storm and found that the reason for my gastritis and gastroparesis could be caused by other food intolerances, and other food intolerances can make your stomach not produce enough acid- leading to gastoparesis because the food does not have enough acid to digest it properly. that way it justs sits there and hurts! i feel you pain!!! I feel like the PPI's did not work because it is making the acid your stomach even less than it already was... makeing my heartburn worse, and allowing my food to sit in my stomach longer. I am much more into holistic approaches than taking pills, so that is why i have not tried zelnorm. HCL is a suppliement that contains HCL(hyrochloric acid- the acid your stomach produces) and it can help suppliment your loss of HCL. it comes in 100mg to 650mg tablets. I would say start out slow... taking 100-200mgs at first right before each meal, and then increase it with each meal until you feel warmth in you tummy. the warmth means that you have a little too mcuh acid. Apple cider vinegar works the same way. I would mix a little bit. like 1 tsp--- and work your way up, a bit of water and take it with a straw as it can damage some peoples teeth. But before you do any of this you need to make sure your stomach lining is healed. if you have gastritis like I do, it could make you even worse! You might want to check into other intolerances... my heartburn ha gotten much better over the past few days since I cut some more foods out of my diet. i'm also going to get an ELISA test done to see for sure what else my body reacts to.
  8. Took My Daughter To The Dr. Today

This might sound harsh... but screw your gastro doctor. I would just stay gluten and dairy free. It takes a while to feel better, you might even have other food alleries/intolerances that you are not aware of.
  9. I have gastroparesis too. Reglan basiclly made me feel suicidel. it was aweful. And I only took it for two days!I think there is a drug called ZelNorm. It is for people with IBS, but my gastro doc said they often perscribe it for gastroparesis too. I have never taken it, so i can't help you there. but maybe you can ask your doctor about it. I just try and eat small meals, with a lot of water. A lot of times gastroparesos can be caused by too little stomach acid- but normal MD's won't tell you that. You might want to try some apple cider vinegar or HCL tabs. Just make sure you stomach lining is healed!
  10. Endometriosis

I was just recently diagnosed after years of weird periods. I always used to have heavy periods and when i was 16 they got so bad I would sleep on the floor of my bathroom so I could throw up, plus the cold floor made me feel better. I would also get to school and be nauseated all day . I finally went to see my doctor and he put me on birth control. What a mistake that was!!! I have been on-and-off it about three times in about 2 1/2 years worth of time. It made the pain go away, but I had very short periods or no period, plus it made me moody. I was never moody before, even with all the pain. I have been off of them for nearly three years, but it took me a year to get periods again. That scared the crap out of me. Then my periods would come some months and not others, and this past year the pain came back, along with the fact that i kept getting cysts (that i though were causing pain, but maybe it was jusy my endo). Then i started to get a dull ache in my lower pelvis in the middle of my cycle until the end of my period. And then the pain moved into my groin and down my legs. It also felt like something was "hitting nerves" down in my pelvis as when I would walk or exercise it would hurt so much I'd often aviod it. I'm very glad i insisted on getting a laparsocpy. They didn't find too much, just two spots on each side of my pelvis. They burned it off with a lazer, but it can come back. My Gyno said that even people with a little endo it can be very painful, and some women with a lot of endo have no pain at all. They are trying to get me to take birth control again. I promised myself i would never go back on them. I'm going to start taking a suppliment called DIM-13C. I've read that you need to take 200mg a day for the best effectiveness. It helps rid you body of excess estrongen. I'm also looking into natural pergesterone (sp) cream. It also helps to limit the intake of foods that contain a lot of estrogen, and eat foods which block estrogen.
  11. Funny Encounters

For some reason people always seem to think I'm allergic to glucose, not gluten. " Oh yeah, Lindsay can't eat anything with glucose in it".... hello!!! Some of these people I have to consistently tell GLUTEN! It's GLUTEN! My mom about hyperventilates when I come to visit. She rushes around the house--- "can you eat this, this?!!! I forget, What can you eat!" My brothers rub in that when I finally move to Germany I won't be able to indulge in their great beers! What is even worse is I have been to Germany, had their wonderful beer, and now, NEVER again . It's like getting one kiss, and never anymore! argh. My best friend steve labels things as 'gluterific'... this does not just apply to food either. He could call a dog walking down the street gluterific, or ask " Does that come with an extra double dose of Gluten?". I have been kicked out of a resturant for bringing my own food. The whole table was also kicked out with me. 11 other people, who were all eating food they ordered there!!! That was really lame. Never go to the Lucky Lab family resurants and Pubs in Portland, OR!!!! Super rude!
  12. Awesome Article!

Hey all! I think I'm going to get the ELIZA test done to see what eles I'm allergic too. I get terriable heartburn, insomnia, tired all the time. It sucks! I know for sure I'm reacting to corn, but I think I have others too. I never even thought to rotate my diet. I'm the worst at eating the SAME foods everyday. I'm not doing that anymore for sure!!! I have been living off a diet of rice and corn based foods, beans, cheese, soy milk and yogurt, dates, rasins, apples, bananas, carrots, and tomatoes for the past year (ever since my celiac diagnosis). I did eat other things now and then... but really I guess I've been naughty in the most innocent way. I had no idea! I have also learned that most of those foods contribute to my newly diagnosed endometriosis!!! Arghhh. I changed my diet right after I read this article. No way in hell am I going to go back. I even ended up writing to DogtorJ gushing how happy I was that I found the site. I gave the article to my epileptic ex boyfriend. He was so excited he ended up writing him and e-mail too! He is hoping he might be able to help him with his research. I so glad you guys found the article and site as helpful as I did. :)
  13. Apple cider vinager note: Be careful about the acid and your teeth. it can wear the enamel (sp) away... maybe try a straw or you can also get hydrochloric acid pill from 100mg up too about 650 mg. Just be careful how much mg you take a few minutes before a meal. I'd recommend finding the 100mg to 200mg capsules first and increasing from there. You could end up with more stomach pain if you go too fast! Plus HCL won't hurt your teeth . The thing with both HCL and ACV is that you have to make sure your stomach lining is healed or it could aggrivate it more(gastritis yikes!). If you arn't feeling pain I'm pretty sure your stomach lining is ok.
  14. Yay! that makes me happy. I love dogs <3 <3 <3
  15. Awesome Article!
