  1. I had an endoscopy done yesterday and the doctor said I had a lot of inflammation and also some duodenitis?? He also took some biopsies to rule out malabsorption and some other stuff. Now, I am just waiting on the pathology report. Has anyone that has been diagnosed with celiac disease, been diagnosed with duodenitis as well and if so, what is it? Thanks
  2. Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know I just got home a little bit ago from having my endoscopy and colonoscopy and I survived You are right, the prep for the colonoscopy was the worst part of it; the second being on a liquid diet The doc said he found a lot of inflammation and also a polyp which was removed and some internal hemorrhoids. He said that there may be some gastritis and some duodenitis as well, but doesn't want to confirm it until the pathology report comes back which I can understand. He said he didn't see any cancer or any serious problems. Yeah!! He took several biopsies during the colonoscopy and endoscopy. Won't find out those results until next week. He said to eat whatever I wanted to until he received the results back I asked him "so this isn't all in my head then" and he said definately not. Thanks again for all your support!! I will keep you updated
  3. Getting Nervous

Hi everyone, Thanks so much for your comforting words I just got back from buying my wonderful (sarcasm) liquid diet regimen for tomorrow I don't see why I have to have a liquid diet the day before if I am going to lose everything anyways when I do the prep I guess I am scared too about choking on the scope when they do the endoscopy and as far as the colonoscopy goes, I guess I am just feeling a bit "violated" of having to have the procedure done I think I might take chaddwell's advice and not go into work at all on Tuesday.....plus, I might be grumpy since I can't eat anything. Thanks again!
  4. Getting Nervous

Hey there, thank you so much for replying so quickly. I have to be on a liquid diet all day Monday and take 3 ounces of phosphosoda (sp?) Monday evening to clean out the good ol' system. My test isn't until early Tuesday afternoon. Thought I would go to work that morning to make the time go by faster. My bf has to work, so my parents are going to take me. Fortunately, my mom loves to write everything down That is a great idea though, I wouldn't have thought of having someone write down what he finds out. I guess I am just anxious because I don't know what they are going to find. Having elevated IgG levels and other symptoms related to celiac disease, I am thinking he is going to confirm if I have that or not. I have been getting this terrible headache after eating and also, I am getting this burning feeling in my right upper quadrant rib cage area. Hmmm...I am just thinking the worst, I guess....not good to do Guess that is normal, huh? I will let you know what I find out Thanks again!
  5. I have my endoscopy & colonoscopy on Tuesday. Never had these done before and I am getting very anxious and kind of scared
  6. What is the total IgA? I thought I had that done??? who knows..all these tests are confusing I have to have a colonscopy and an endoscopy on Tuesday Will my doc be able to tell right away if I have celiac disease? Thanks
  7. Yes, yesterday after I saw him and told him my other symptoms. Is that okay?
  8. Bloated Belly

Thanks for your reply That is kind of what I was thinking too. I did tell him my symptoms and told him it only happens after eating occasionally. I think that gave him the major deciding factor to do the endoscopy and colonoscopy, but who knows I think he may be looking to confirm Celiac Disease with these symptoms??
  9. Bloated Belly

Well, I saw my GI doc today and after listening to my symptoms, he wants to now do an endoscopy and a colonoscopy next week.... Not too crazy about this, but if it helps diagnose the problem, then I will do it. There was a weird thing that happened while I was waiting to see him today. I ate lunch before going to see him and while waiting in the waiting area, my left arm suddenly started hurting/aching and my left hand started to tingle. I told him this and I think this may have been his majore deciding factor to do some more testing. Has anyone had this happen before? It kind of freaked me out I also got very nauseated too. I just wish I knew what was going on. Thanks
  10. My arms and legs are getting bumps and they itch like crazy!! Could this be gluten related? My IGG blood work came back high but the other two came back really low.....I go back to the doc again tomorrow...
  11. Bloated Belly

Hi there, Thank you so much for responding to my posting I had an abdominal ultrasound and a hida scan done in the past week and they both came back normal (I guess that is good, but I wish I knew what was causing this discomfort) I ate a very small piece of chocolate silk pie with my lunch which was little too and suddenly my stomach bloated up and I had a lot of gas. It does this no matter what I eat. The other day I had half a peanut butter sandwich and it happened then too and it went through me then as well. I also get really tired/fatigued after I eat sugary/carby foods too. I am only 33 and I was just recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis. My legs are always dry and itch a lot and so do my arms from time to time. My doctor did a Celiac Panel on me and the IGG came back high (29) 0-19 I guess is normal. I don't feel this was a true lab test because I was fasting before they took my blood (other then the fact, that once I found out he was testing me for that, I scarfed down a muffin before having it drawn...l don't know what I was thinking...like my body is going to process a muffin in 5 minutes) I am also experiencing upper right quadrant pain by my ribcage. Ugh! So, now I go back to him tomorrow to discuss my lab work, etc. and to see what the next plan of action is going to be. Any suggestions on what I should request?? Thanks again Becca
  12. Shortly after I eat, my stomach swells up immediately. Does anyone know if this could be related to gluten or not? I got see my GI doc tomorrow for the second time. Thanks
  13. I received my Celiac Panel results and they were as follows: Tissutrans IgA 3 Gliadin IGG AB 29 (this one came back high) Gliadin IGA AB 5 Should I be concerned about these numbers? Also, everytime I eat, it goes right through me! I have had my gallbladder checked and it is fine. Thanks,
