It was real for me. I got the shakes, the sweats, and was really anxious. It was miserable. The first few days were the worst. It gradually subsided after that. I ended up calling my doctor about it because it was so bad, and the nurse said the withdrawal period is about 2 weeks.

I'm waiting on test results right now on some bloodwork for my thyroid. For the past several years it's been something that my doctors have watched closely (have been on bloodwork orders every 6 months), but they never felt it was something to treat. It's always on the low end of normal and a couple of times has jumped out of the normal range to low. So...

No chance of pregnancy, and I've been taking the same medications for a while now - way before all this started. I had a full blood panel a couple of months ago, I think, and everything came back normal. I'm waiting on results from bloodwork for my thyroid.

Thanks for the response. I'm not officially gluten-free anymore...I eat a minimal amount according to the way I'm feeling. I don't have Celiac...I don't even have the gene. But I was told last summer that I had it, and went on the gluten-free diet and that's when my body went haywire with all these issues. It's so frustrating for the endocrinologist...

I don't know where else to post this (websites, I mean), so I turn to all of you. I have what I would call extreme hunger. My meals only last 1.5 to 2 hours, and when I get hungry I get dizzy and confused-feeling. Yeah, I think I have to just bite the bullet and go back on the gluten-free diet. I have reflux, too, but the weird thing is that I didn't get it until AFTER I went gluten-free. I take Nexium every day, and I still have problems with it. Upper GI came back normal, though.

That's enough proof for me, but for some reason I'm having trouble coming to terms with it and making the decision to go back on the diet. I think part of it is emotional because I'm in such...

OK, so my genetic test for Celiac was negative. But when I started eating gluten again my digestive system changed again...constipation, stomach cramps, etc. I've also noticed that my mood has changed...more irritable and depressed (but also keep in mind that I've been sick now for 5 months and doctors don't know what's wrong with me...now living back with...

Oh believe me, if it's is definitely the gluten I'm not going to continue eating it. But I do have to remain on it for 4-6 weeks because my doctor wants to do an endoscopy if I'm still feeling sick.

Granted it's a little different, but think about alcohol tolerance...the longer you go without drinking alcohol the less tolerant you are and it takes less to get drunk. I kind of relate that to gluten. I don't know for sure it was the gluten, but it really seems to be the only thing I did differently yesterday...aside from the yogurt-covered raisins...

Well, I feel better in some ways and horrible in others. My digestive system is much happier off gluten, but my body also went haywire in other ways. I've been eating like crazy, have gained almost 20 lbs, my blood sugar is low and rollercoastering, I have no energy, my sleep is erratic, I wake up in the middle of the night to eat, I don't feel normal hunger...

I was looking at your signature...I saw that your IgA and TTG came back high? Was that in addition to a high IgG? Does that show the gluten intolerance? My IgG in my initial testing came back high, but my IgA and TTG were normal.

I got the genetic test done...came back negative. I started introducing gluten back into my diet yesterday. I had a sandwich from Panera and then had a small amount of bread last night with my beef stew. A couple of hours I had the sandwich I got some stomach cramps. Today I've been in the bathroom since 7am. No diarrhea, but stomach cramps and going...

I haven't been eating corn. I have soy in whatever products it may be in. But I don't see how any of those would contribute to low blood sugars, especially if I'm eating 6-8 meals a day.
