hair loss

I was born with celiac, and it went undiagnosed until I was 58 years old. I have been on as strict a gluten free diet as I can be for the past 17 years and am now starting to experience hair loss; I lose quite a bit when I wash or brush my hair. Can this be from the celiac and from having it for so many years before being diagnosed?
