I was diagnosed with celiac disease 40 years ago. I never really got better on a strict gluten free diet. Twenty years later I was diagnosed with refractory celiac disease, lymphocytic colitis, stage 2 liver fibrosis and a pancreatic insufficiency. Finally steroids improved my health. Now years later I am diagnosed with hemochromatosis. I have hypothyroidism and a skin condition called systemic granuloma annulaire for which I take methotrexate. I'm being followed by a hepatologist, gastroenterologist and dermatologist. It's been quite a journey! Along this journey I became a clinical dietitian and have researched these health issues extensively.
