  1. Thanks for all of the advice. I love the idea of asking them to eat some food that will make them sick! Not that they would, but just the thought made me smile! I do need to make a nice BIG gluten-free cheesecake to make myself feel better. Thanks for all of the recipes, I will definately try them out when I am having my junk food cravings. My dear...
  2. Hello. I have been nagging my doctor for months about all of my problems and I think I might need a new one. He is a really nice guy though so I hate to just find someone in a phone book to change to. Way back in Jan, I started to lose a lot of hair. I had been sick forever of course. My doctor found out I was anemic and started injections. Long story...
  3. OK, so my ever thoughtful husband agreed for us to go to his mother's house for dinner. The last time, I was sick in bed for days. So this time, I told her sorry, I would bring my own little micro meal since I am a teacher and CAN NOT be sick this week. She wasn't happy that I wouldn't trust her, but life goes on. When we drive ALL the way to her house...
  4. I just started probiotics today and started taking B12 also. My doctor called today (Actually his nurse because it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to talk to the doctor). He said all of my test results are fine. I said so.....???What does that mean now?? They said I could try other things if I want, but my blood is fine. Yippee. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
  5. When my tongue is infected, it starts out really red in spots and very sensitive to anything spicy or fizzy. If I don't get meds for it, it starts to get white patches on it and it is hard to eat anything. At one point, my tongue was so infected that I couldn't eat anything, all the taste buds seemed to be raised or killed off and it was very irritated...
  6. Ok, I found out my shampoo and conditioner MAY contain gluten so I guess I need to change. I was using Herbal Essence. Does anyone have any suggestions on some gluten free versions? Thanks! I am off to my mother-in-law's house to eat a meal that she is really making an effort to cook for me. Unfortunately, since she knows nothing about gluten, I am sure...
  7. Thanks for the advice. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to cut out anything else, but I guess there's no point in doing this half way. I will definately check into all of my lotions and hair things. I also checked some of my meds when I started this, but I just kind of assumed the other's were good since I couldn't find any info. I guess I will get...
  8. Does anyone else seem to get every single virus in the neighborhood? I seem to be getting sick ALL the time and I was hoping it would get better with the new diet. I seem to get everything worse too, which doesn't seem to help everyone's idea that I am just being dramatic! My kids had a runny nose, mine turned into a sinus infection that has lasted a month...
  9. Hello. I have been eating gluten free for almost 4 months. Some days it is really easy, like the days I don't leave my house. Then I go somewhere and remember how much work this is! I have been struggling with this diet for awhile and don't feel better. I was first diagnosed with IBS and have been on drugs for that for over 3 years. When I was calling...
