  1. yeah, dang, you guys got me. I checked all my food when I got home and they're in my cookies, waffles... and uhh, forgot what else=p can eggs cause brain fog and constipation? and I doubt its eggs, because I've gone loong periods of times without eggs before. Should I order enterolab tests or just try going without? I'm kind of on a tight budget atm...
  2. wow, thanks for all the information hangininthere! I just realized, though, that I don't think I've been eating any soy anyways. I've been eating eggs, hash browns, santa barbara salsa, corn tortilla chips, steaks, chickens, salad mixes, lots of veggies and fruits... gluten free cookies, gluten free waffles. Thats been my diet for like two weeks. I'm trying...
  3. hahah, I feel like a robot, "thank you in advance". I just don't feel good. It's so hard to concentrate right now. I'm supposed to be doing homework, but ehhh... I'll probably end up doing the wrong page or something. I've been gluten-free for two months and don't feel better. So it sounds like something else is bothering me. I was tested negative...
  4. I'm going to try avoiding soy for a while. Soy is a top 8 allergen, right? So avoiding it in terms of knowing what I can and can't eat should be pretty simple? Or is it like gluten, where I have to memorize 3,961,582 different ingredients? I tried using the search feature and couldn't find exactly what I was thinking of. I'm so brain fogged right now...
  5. The thread is over because you dodged everyones question and repeated the same thing twenty times? Dude, it's your opinion and I respect that, but you're just beating around the bush. We know what you're saying, according to your logic, it can't be a disease because we feel fine without the gluten. You think, that in order for it to be a disease, we...
  6. Well, if snake bites made you sick but no one else, would it be a disease? What if whenever a snake bit you your immune system attacked itself and certain organs in your body stopped functioning properly. What do call that? Just ordinary poison?
  7. It seems like your logic is because our genes don't hurt us, the gluten does, it can't be a disease. If that's your definition of a non-disease, then sure, it's not a disease.
  8. Thanks for the response guys. What are some good websites and information I can get on the elimination diet? I want to make sure that I do it properly. Before I do an elimination diet, should I try just avoiding soy?
  9. It's a disease because your immune system attacks itself and thus destroys or damages the villi in your small intestine. The result is the disability to absorbing nutrients and other vitamins. To be more specific, it's an auto-immune disease.
  10. So you basically feel just fine... that's great. I'm happy for you! I wish I could feel good. I like hearing stories of people who recovered. It gives me a new kind of hope. I just did some research on soy and YES, it does cause constipation... I'm not going to order an expensive test to find out though. I'm just simply going to eat nothing but rice and...
  11. Sounds like you're in the same boat as me. I keep convincing myself that it just takes longer than two months and I'll feel better. But like you said, and like I was saying, wouldn't I feel ANYTHING different? I should be feeling somewhat better by now... I'm 19 years old. I was tested by Enterolab, my levels weren't way high or anything. In fact...
  12. I'm sorry, I'm in a negative mood atm. I know there's been a million posts on this topic already but how do you know? How do you guys know how real Celiac is? From what I've seen, every "Celiac" out there goes gluten free but still has so many problems. Is there anyone that has gone gluten-free and feels GREAT? Is it possible? I started the gluten...
  13. I can tell you that I get major mood swings. I also have a huge temper, as well, probably from Celiac. But ever Celiac is extremely different. Some people are thin, can't gain weight. Others are overweight and can't lose it. Some people have D, some have C... some people have insane brain fog (like me) to the point where they can't function normally. I'm...
  14. Yep exactly, most conversations or questions have already been answered. I often use the search feature and read up on previous conversations. You can learn a lot by doing so and it's quicker as well.
  15. It's true that the price per gluten-free item usually costs more than the gluten-containing ones. Perhaps you're even spending more on groceries than before... but that doesn't mean your spending more over all. I spend more on groceries then before, but I'm not hungry as often (before I was starving, literally, 24/7 and always had to eat. I'd often...
  16. What do you mean freezing in waves? (sorry, I've never heard that expression before=p) That's great that you feel better though... I've been on the gluten free diet for about 5 weeks now. Dairy free as well for 3. I don't feel better yet... my brain fog is horrible and I feel like my brain is floating. I'm curious to how everyone eats though. I...

    ARCHIVED Dizzzzy...

What brand and what kind of ginkgo do you take? Thanks in advance!
  18. What's a probiotic- culturelle? and judging from your pic ( that is your right?) do you/did you have rosacea or any skin disorder? I have really bad rosacea. As long as I remember, probably since I was 6 or 7 I've had the darkest reddest cheeks... does the diet help that at all> thanks in advance... edit: I just realized how rude my question sounded...
  19. What restaurants are you going to? And how good is 'good'? =p Like when you felt good did you have tons of energy, a clear and strong mind, etc?
  20. I wasn't officially diagnosed with reflux or anything... but all my life I couldn't go anywhere near my throat or I'd cough up food into my mouth... from uhh.. my throat? Anyway it sounds like reflux to me and it wasn't bad by any means, but I definitely had something going on. Now, like just barely I tried this, I can stick my finger as far into my throat...
  21. I'm pretty sure I'm doing the diet right... the only thing I can think of is maybe cutting boards. I use Suave, gluten free shampoos, gluten free spices when cooking etc. Can you tell me more about the sublingual B12? When I went to the health store I was told that the one I got, wich is powder I put into my drink was sublingual. But yeah it's...
  22. I'm taking vitamin B12, it's a powder I've been putting in a bottle of water every morning. I've been doing this the entire month. I've only missed one day... And I'm pretty sure I haven't got any hidden gluten. I ate at Outback once and Roadhouse once, both with gluten-free menus. Got a steak one time and a salmon the other. Can it really take...
  23. Is it common to not feel any different after a month of being gluten-free? I've also been dairy free as well for three weeks. The only changes I've noticed is that my nose isn't as stuffy and my reflux seems to have gone away. It used to be that even brushing my teeth if I went as far as my back teeth I would start to choke and if I wasn't quick enough...

    ARCHIVED Casein Free

So yesterday my Mom just told me that as a kid I would react badly with milk. she didn't know better back then and said she made a mistake, but she said my head would swell up etc when I drank milk. Sounds dairy could definitely be a problem for me! Also, I need help with grocery shopping and things to make. Any ideas or any example grocery shopping...
  25. Hello everyone, I was diagnosed by Enterolab for gluten sensitivity. Now I'm doing one on casein and malabsorption. I noticed that dairy makes me feel horrible. I've been eating extra dairy lately on purpose to see how it would affect, and let's just say it hasn't been pretty. On Friday I drank TWO large shakes in one night. Let's just say the next day...
