  1. you don't really develop crohns disease. it's usually already there. unless i'm completley mistaken.
  2. oh, then you know something, i'm an idiot and wasn't thinking. i suppose in my own way diet has made a difference/is important, because i would not in a kabillion years ever try to eat something like cabbage lol. When my arthritis isn't flaring, i am very active and, i am on a million meds between my arthritis and crohns. So, it is possible to be on medicine...
  3. i suggest keeping gluteny snacks for the rest of the family (it's not realistic to make them all gluten-free, it's really not, your famiy cares about you, but they are not sick, you are and it won't hurt you if they eat a kitkat), and cook all meals gluten-free.
  4. art parties were always fun, or bead parties where everyone can make jewlrey, make your own cupcakes (ice, toppings) is always fu like she suggested), or decorating sugar cookies too.
  5. if the doctor has interpreted the results and seen them, you should be able to get them without a holdup. i like the planting yourself in the office idea lol even though it may be impractical
  6. someone will jump in, but they are working on two pills right now if i'm not mistaken, one like you say and one that will be for accidental glutenings to help? Anyone hear anything similar, i swear i read it on the site of the drug company. But, no, there is nothing out now, trust me, we wouldn't be here if there was.
  7. Hi everyone, I thought I'd start this topic to see who else is out there in the same boat as me, celiac and crohn's disease, and if anyone wants to talk about it/vent/find support!?
  8. I guess the two are a little different because mine can't be controlled by diet to any extent, but, when i was first diagnosed (chrons) before they figured out the right combo of meds for me, it seems to be the go to "start" drug. It made my liver go bananas, and they tried other ones, but it usually works for everyone to some extent. Let us know how the...
  9. ditto on the altoids being not safe, but other than that i haven' found one yet, if anyone else has, please let us know!!
  10. i agree with you but it appears once again the loudest voice wins.
  11. that's horrible about the little girl. i heard about something like that happening years ago, i thought every pool had to make modifications but apparently not. i will pray for her. but, really, next time you're having a pity party, invite friends and turn it into a real one bc no party is fun alone =D. we should keep a thread going or start a new one about...
  12. Oh hang in there both of you=-D Have either of you just been diagnosed? Things get a lot easier although, around here it gets a bit frustrating when you have people who just have celiac which can actually be stopped going on like they have the plauge and you have something on top of it that is totally incurable. I'm sure the people with lyme feel the same...
  13. i really beg you guys to get a book on celiac before you keep posting this stuff. it's really not correct. now you'll probably jump on me like you did those other two posters. you sure don't like people to be on any other side but the lets all act like celiac does things it doesn't and act like celiac is the worst thing in the world. it's not folks. i'll...
  14. really, celiac is not that complicated and you don't need to go to a rocket scientist to get a scope. people like to act like celiac is so darn dramatic and horrible because its apparently exciting having a disease. actually, it's one of the best things to be diagnosed with, because we can fix it/stop it by just not eating gluten. I really am not sure why...
  15. I'd get him seen as soon as possible. If it is a Ped. GI, he is trained how to scope esp on little kids, that sounds sort of like a fib from columbia to get you to go there instead. A scope is a fairly easy procedure, really, if your choice is now or in months, i'd do it now. and, it's not like you're going to uncle joes endoscopys in the back of a van, you...
