  1. Kim, No need to "ramp up" so to speak, but you should always take vitamins with a meal. Many vitamins are fat and/or water soluble, which means they need food in order to be absorbed. Also, taking vitamins on an empty stomach is a great way to experience nausea and that "jangly" feeling, because, well, some vitamins are acidic, some have base qualities...
